New essay: The beauty in what remains
Itâs our privilege to offer this lovely essay on the work of our friend Raymond Meeks by our friend Stefan Vanthuyne. To whet your appetite:
âRaymond Meeksâs work challenges us, at those moments in our lives where a cycle comes full circle, to look for the beauty in what remains. Because only in that beauty can we find the reasons to move forward once again. âMy fear,â Robert Adams once said, âis that we in the art world are not consistently and ardently enough addressing that old traditional job of art: to reconcile us to life.â The openheartedness, the integrity, and the dignity with which Meeks continues to do this in his work, is hopeful.â
A Beautiful read

âWhere do you go when the signs donât point anymore? Â Where do you go except back where you came from? I canât tell you how many people have lost track of where they were going. How many people are not too sure of where they are from? Â But I can tell you that itâs a farm or a little town and that little towns are mighty big places to be from. The smaller they are the bigger they are to be from. But they never get big enough to hold all the men that left themâ the roads lead back âthe travel is still the other wayâ
