The thing I love about the Xena fandom is that when one of my posts goes viral it gets reblogged mostly by people who are 17-19 years old and were babies (or not alive) when Xena was on the air, which means this show is still getting discovered by teenagers despite being buried in I Love the 90s guilty pleasure mockery. And I find that delightful.

oh no xena realizing fully that she’s in love with gabrielle for the first time. maybe gabrielle is rambling about something, maybe it’s when she’s practicing with her staff and her face sets in all determined, maybe it’s when they’re bickering about something or playing a game and gabrielle’s face scrunches up. maybe gabrielle takes a huge sip of wine and burps really loudly. maybe it’s when gabrielle’s telling a story and her eyes light up. maybe it’s when the light catches her hair and xena asks whatcha thinking about? and gabrielle tells her exactly what she’s thinking about and her smile is everything. but like xena’s eyes widening and her mouth parting and i’m in love with this giant dork, gods help me and wondering why she’s never had that exact thought before.
