Hundreds of people showed up on Tuesday to vote on the second day of early voting at the Gwinnett County Elections and Registration Office in Lawrenceville. The wait time was from 2-3 hours but on Monday the lines were longer making the wait 3-4 hours. Joe Sorenson, spokesman and Communications Director said the he had not seen so many people in early voting since the 2008 election between Barack Obama and John McCain. As of noon on Tuesday, 2,170 ballots had been cast, on Monday alone there were 1,580 ballots and another 590 Tuesday morning. Voters can cast their ballots at the main elections office at 455 Grayson Highway, Suite 200, Mondays through Fridays 8am-5pm until November 4. The county will also provide seven satellite locations stating on October 29 to the 31. Residents can also print out absentee ballot applications from the county elections website, they fill out and drop it off at the elections office or the applications can be picked up at the office without having to wait in line.
