Lux looked over, her eyebrows furrowed in response to the girl’s question. Being nervous was so second nature to Lux, that she didn’t even think about the fact that it might look suspicious to someone else. “No… I’m just… it’s nothin unusual for me. I’m not really the best with socialization and all that.” She admitted, shrugging it off. Of course, she didn’t mention that she was extra nervous because of the fact that she was standing side by side with someone that was a part of the group that could be hostile. That just didn’t seem like it would play out well. “Well, if it makes you feel any better, we couldn’t go outside at all. There really wasn’t an outside, except for space…” Lux offered, finally filling her basket.
Andrea nodded her head at the girl next to her which mean thank you for filling up my basket. "Well, I was actually being watched most of the time because when I was a kid. I was the type of kid who would wander off." She spoke, closing her basket up and taking the other basket. She began picking the other berries, filling it up. She made sure to not take the poisonous ones because today she only had to get the one that they could eat.
"I think there might be some sort of illness working it’s way around. I’ve treated nearly five people with the same symptoms already and there’s already more to take care of. A healer’s job is never done."
"Well, how have they been doing?"
The moon shone brightly in the sky. Blythe was seated on the rocks by the bank of the river. She had left the gathering early, wanting some time for herself and her thoughts. Her mind wandered to the story that her grandmother had told that evening. Her eyes drew upwards to gaze at the moon. After a few moments, footsteps broke her train of thought. Instead of turning around, however, she smiled softly. “What do you know about the moon?” she inquired. “It’s so… bright tonight…”
Andrea was outside of the camp because the girl needed fresh air. She trudged down the path way beneath her. A smile evident on the girl's face because finally at last she had time to herself and no one had bothered her. Her brunette hair cascaded down her back as she continued walking. The girl was heading to a river nearby, but she suddenly stopped in her tracks considering there was another girl there. "I don't know a lot about the moon," she looked up as she spoke. "Although I have to agree. It is very bright."
Nodding silently, Cressida stood up and looked over at the girl in an attempt to assess how much of a threat she was. She didn’t know enough about the grounders to draw a conclusion and Cressida knew not to judge a person by their appearance. “What’s your name?” she asked. “Is this your spot or can we at least form a sort of truce here? I have no problem with you unless you have one with me.”
Her eyebrow rose as a response to the girl's reaction when she saw her. "Well, I'm not telling you my name." Her first thought was that she should have, but she can't just go around telling people her name even when she barely even knows them. "Although, I do not have a problem with you. The question is, Do you have a problem with me?"
Lux was nervous, and she was sure it was obvious in the way that her voice came out slightly quieter than normal and the way her hands shook as she picked the berries in front of them. She still worked relatively quickly, despite the shakiness, the container she dropped the berries in resting against her hip as she worked. Lux nodded, noting the smile on the other girl’s face. She didn’t seem hostile, at least. But if she decided she wanted to be, Lux was in trouble. And she knew it. Lux glanced upwards at the mention of what used to be her home, then gave a small shrug. “It was… I don’t really know how to explain it. It was good when I was a kid, because I didn’t know there was anything besides the Ark. But now that I’m here, I realize just how dull it was up there. No color, no freedom, limited resources, nothing to explore…” Lux realized how much she had said, a lot more than she usually would. But, the other woman had prompted her to say the thoughts she’d been having for a while now. “What about down here? What was it like to grow up here? If… if you don’t mind me asking.”
Andrea glanced at the girl next to her, noticing her hands were shaky and that she looked like she was in a rush. Although it didn't bother Andrea at all, she just had to ask why she was like that. "Anything bothering you?" Andrea spoke as she continued to pick the berries. "Well, living down here is alright. I mean, when I was younger I didn't really have the freedom to go outside by myself." She didn't want to share a lot of information with her considering she doesn't know if she's actually a nice girl.
Cressida silently ran her fingers over the surface of the river at her feet. She watched as fish darted about and although she knew that she should attempt to catch them the girl couldn’t bring herself to do so. It wasn’t as though she was unable to kill an animal, whenever she did Cressida did so mercifully, but she found watching them swim to be rather peaceful. Footsteps pierced the silence that had fallen over the area and the girl quickly turned her head to see who was there. “Can I help you?”
Andrea was outside due to wanting to go to the river she had always visited before. Although she doesn't really have time too because she had a lot to do. But today, she didn't really have anything to do, so she took took the opportunity to go and head there. Andrea was trudging through the forest considering there was a lot of leaves on the ground. She suddenly stopped in her tracks, noticing a girl at the river. "Oh, nothing."
Rowan really hated running. He always felt gangly and awkward, and running just increased the fact. Running was not his favorite choice but he had to travel farther than normal. Looking for a specific plant that only grew miles upon miles away, he tried to not trip over roots or branches but finally one sent him sprawling. “Ow,” he mutter brushing himself off. Then he heard rustling in the bushes. “Who’s there?” he called out chest still heaving from the running.
Andrea was doing her job when suddenly she heard some of the leaves, which seems like it was being moved, and someone probably talking to themselves. The girl was curious considering she wanted to know if it was just an animal or a person. Her first instinct was to take her knife out, but that might just scare the person. "Who's there?" She repeated the question, trying to see who was there.
Rory stopped what he was doing when he heard someone approaching. He saw the knife in her hand and immediately raised his. “Hey! I-I mean you no harm.” the boy felt his voice shook, as he backed away towards the tree. He kept his eyes on the girl and couldn’t fight off how familiar she seemed to him. She looked more like Tobias than any of the other grounders he’d run into. “If you drop your knife I’ll drop mine.”'
Andrea looked at the guy, not trusting every single word he had said. "I don't even know you." The girl still kept her knife high up in her hand, hoping that he would put down the knife first. "You put down the knife first." She spoke, backing up a bit.
"Okay, what the hell?" he mumbled to himself, glancing around the area he fell asleep in.
Andrea was heading out for a walk, but as soon as she saw a sky person sleeping on the ground. She had to wake him up because that seems uncomfortable. "Why are you sleeping on the ground?"
Rory was having a hard enough time wrapping his mind around the fact that there were actually other people down on earth other than them. They truly weren’t alone, but the more sightings of these people were happening the more confused he became. How in hell did they survive down here after all of these years, and why had none of them ever thought to try and contact the ark. Even more confusing was why they seemed so secretive. He had only really interacted with one of the grounders but the man seemed to have little interest in getting to know him. Rory pushed himself off his post, grabbed his knife and snuck off into the forest, to continue a project he’d started. To cure his boredom he’d began sketching with his blade into a fallen tree. He enjoyed the quiet the trees provided and mildly hoped to catch site of one of the grounders while he was out. “Come on where are you guys?" He whispered more to himself as he worked and waited.
Andrea was heading to the other village, but as soon as she heard a sound, she had to see what was going on. It seemed like the sound was someone craving onto a tree. The girl looked around her, checking for a person. "Is anyone there?" The girl grabbed her knife, so that whoever is out there tries to attack her. She has her knife for protection.
"Yeah, no kidding," Murphy agreed, then thought privately that maybe he hadn’t been wrong to be so scared of the grounder he’d seen in the cave. If other grounders didn’t want to make him angry, there must be good reason. "Just that, if you don’t have anything better to do…" he trailed off slightly and gestured around before laughing slightly helplessly. "I’m kinda lost here, is all."
"I have nothing to do, so?" Andrea shrugged, a smile formed on her lips. The girl didn't actually think that she would be in a situation like this right now. She didn't mind about it anymore, though. The girl looked around her surroundings, playing with the ends of her worn out shirt.
"Stupid ignorant shits. I’m female so I have to gather food. Assholes." The red head mutters to herself as she ruffles through a bush in search for berries or something poison to rub into the two males beds before they slept.
"You alright there?"
Lux watched the stranger, her shy demeanor getting the best of her as she struggled to approach her. Just days ago, she had been convinced that they were the only humans on the ground, but now she was standing just a few feet away from someone who had lived her entire life on the ground, and Lux had no idea what to expect. Lux watched her move over, offering her to gather beside her, and finally she walked closer and stood beside her at the berry bush. “Thank you.” Lux spoke, setting to work picking the berries. Lux glanced over at her, then nodded. “Yeah, I am. There aren’t many of us that know the edible berries from the poisonous ones, and I’m trying to help with what I can. And you’re picking them for your people as well?”
Andrea gathered some of the berries, putting some of them in the basket who she got from a grounder. She glanced at the other girl beside her. Andrea was curious about how they lived in space. "It's no problem." Andrea spoke, a smile spread across her lips. "Yeah, I'm picking these for my people." The girl gathered more berries, filling the basket up. "So, how's it like living up there?"
"Maybe you should talk to him about seeking counseling, or something?" he suggested, before adding, "Don’t let that guy be a doctor. His bedside manner would suck.” Glancing around, he realized that it was probably later than he thought. Murphy knew he should really be back at camp by nightfall, but if he had someone who knew the territory — “Hey,” he said, making sure to stay a good distance from her, “Exploring’s usually more fun with a guide. Right?”
"I've been thinking about that, but I think if I tell him, he's probably gonna get angry at me." Andrea didn't want him to get angry at her. She chuckled at his comment, dropping her hands to her side, the girl didn't actually think she would be in a situation like this. Grounder talking/having a normal conversation with a sky person and actually not trying to hurt each other. "Are you trying to suggest something?" Slightly raising her eyebrows at the guy, a smile formed on her lips.
Lux was wandering the woods, following a path she had walked a few times before while looking for food for camp. Being from Agro station, she knew a few of the berries that were edible, but others she had never seen during her studies. Lux approached a berry patch, being far from quiet as she didn’t exactly expect to find anyone else around, until she heard a voice. Lux slowed, listening to the words of the other female. Lux then stepped into view of her, her hands up as she did so. “I… I’m here for the same thing. I’m not here to fight.”
A sigh of relief escaped Andrea's lips, she was relieved that the person was here not to fight, but to probably gather some berries. "If you're gonna get the berries, you can get." she moved aside, so the girl could get some berries from the bush. Picking on the berries, Andrea decided to speak the girl, so that it wouldn't be a awkward silence. "So, are you getting the berries for the people in your camp?"
