DIT Blog
My DIT Blog week 10.
Mon:Â Â Â We talked about decisions in games, what are decisions, what the types of decisions are and how to use them effectively. Baz gave us an assignment of making a decision based game for next week, After this we finished off the game of life (for the most part) and Bryan assured us that arrays would be completely optional on the test tomorrow.
Tues:Â Â Â The test did not go as well as it should have. We had to make a scene with a house, a man, a key, the ground and the night sky, complete with stars which had to be done with arrays which was worth fifteen percent of the test (optional my ass), I just used a for loop and it worked/looked fine. Making the scene was fine but the man had to pick up the key and go to the house but I, for the life of me, couldnât get him to move. So I coded in the events as if he could move and hoped theyâd be okay because I couldnât test it to make sure.
Wed:Â Â Â We had the double Ludology we were meant to have last week today but due to some insane traffic I got in about forty five minutes late which was alright because there was a fair few of us thatâd got caught up in the traffic and had been late. In the class we designed our own characters in a fighting card game and we had to try and make them a balanced character. It was fun but in almost no way was it balanced.
Fri:Â Â Â We had another session of feedback on our gameplay footage today. I figured out OBS before now so at least we had a decent video this time.
