Wales Day#7

Today has to be my favorite day on the trip so far!

For starters I woke up feeling completely fresh and new! I got to spend a full day in Wales with the group and that is already 10x better than the last two days combined.

To start the day off I got in a quick shower and then headed down to breakfast with my buds Mason and Ivory.

We then headed to a lecture on politics and bias in the news. It was very interesting to hear about bias in different news outlets we have in different countries. In the U.S for example we use bias by poking fun at our president Joe Biden and not showing the entire picture when it comes to those stories.

After the lecture we all got some merch from the school store and then got lunch on campus where we ate a delicious pasta dish with salad and garlic bread. Then we caught a bus ride to downtown Aberystwyth and went to the museum where we saw a rebuilt theatre from the 1800’s by King Edward the seventh.

After the museum me, Mason, Ivory, Mimi, and Kaitlyn all ventured off to the tram that leads up the cliff where in my opinion saw the most beautiful view ever. The mix of ocean in the left and farms in the right just hit different. Pictures do not do this place justice at all.

But that was my day. I can honestly say that it has been the highlight so far!

Wales Day#6

Today I woke up thinking I had gotten over whatever I was feeling last night and after a shower I quickly realized I was very wrong:( I ended up staying in my room for another day so I could save myself and possibly my friends from catching whatever I had. Shortly after deciding to stay in for the day the worst of what I was feeling started to hit. I was feeling all kinds of things including light headedness, heavy headaches and an upset stomach I decided I needed to call my mom and hear her voice. I ultimately made the right decision because right after doing so I instantly felt better. It was as if a heavy weight had been lifted off of me and carried somewhere far away. I am so grateful for my mom and dad for helping me through my tough time today even with the time difference there here for me. Also a special thanks to Dr. Robinson for her help today taking care of me.

But after a long day of shaking and staying in my dorm room I felt ready and well enough to venture out with the group for dinner at a pub called the white horse. Where we all played pool and watched the euro cup.

Today ended way better than it started and I can only thank God, my parents and Dr. Robinson

London-Wales Day#5

Today started off like any other day with an absolute MID breakfast from the hotel. Honestly not that bad I think I’m just giving it a hard time because I’m starting to miss the food back home🤷‍♂️

After breakfast we headed to the British Museum where we saw a whole lot of different historical artifacts from different cultures. Seeing all of the pieces under one roof was just fascinating, to think that you can visit here and see all of these different (borrowed) pieces all together and cherish them all in one place brings a certain joy to my heart so that future generations can continue to learn about the past.

After the museum the day kind of stretched itself thin afterward. What I mean by that is because of the train ride to Wales! Honestly the five hours it took to get here didn’t feel that long and I feel it’s because of how scenic the ride was on the way over.

But after arriving was when my night turned south. I was hit with a stomach bug of sorts that cut my night short just after arriving. Honestly not the best start to arriving but it is what it is.

London Day #4

I would say that today was definitely a more calm day compared to the last three nights. While it was full of things to do it wasn’t overwhelming I might add.

I started the day like any other at the hotel breakfast where me and my buddy Mason fill up on some eggs, sausage, and croissants. After breakfast we all met up at the coffee shop Blossoms before meeting with everyone else in the lobby to begin our political tour of London.

We then headed to Westminster Abbey where we saw all of these historical and beautiful buildings and statues that just blew my mind by how intricately designed and just beautiful they all were. Some highlights included Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and the Houses of Parliament.

After all of our tours for the day me and a few of my friends headed back to the hotel to enjoy a calmer night then the last few nights and it was lovely. Me, Olivia, Franz, and Jordan all walked to seven dials where we ate fish and chips and then shopped at TK Maxx.

Overall today was a very good day and can’t wait to tell these stories to my family when I see them again!

London Day #3

Today was crazy!

For starters me and my buddy Mason went in a 3.6 mile run which was very scenic and full of amazing architecture.

Then me and Olivia went to go get herself Tattoo! It was a very odd experience getting there. We got lost on the way but we did eventually make it to her appointment.

Later in the day we went to a nice ol’ pub called the swan for dinner and a football match between Germany and Scotland. Scotland did lose but it was nice to see the euro cup starter.

Overall I had a very full day of walking to and from different tube stops where I did get “lost” in Kings cross see what happened was I got on the tube right before it closed and Olivia and Franz were not able to follow. And I was all alone until Olivia and Franz came to the rescue and met back up with me.

That’s my day. It was full of London experiences I’ll say👍

Day 1 “2” London:

Today has was an absolute blast! Full of discovery, food and friends. It was a little rough staying up all day from one day to the next but with a little bit of coffee and a new city to explore I can say that it has been an absolute smashing day so far. I enjoyed some Italian food with some friends at lunch and then explored the River Thames at dinner time.

What can I say… today was a good (long) day!
