What’s in it for me?
❛Yeah, I did.❜ Daniel answered, grabbing his fork. ❛I’m sure it was. How was work? It doesn’t have to be exciting. I just want to hear all about your day.❜
A chuckle fell from Cress’ lips at his words “But my job is so boring.” she said with a sigh “Are you really sure you want to hear about it?”
Am I the actor that’s worked with Meryl the most? I might be the actress that’s worked with Meryl Streep the most. How lucky am I? She just stalks me. It’s embarrassing.

“Oh definitely, they should consider taking dance lessons. Even I think I could do with some lessons” She agreed, scrunching her nose up. As she continued to spare details about the Count and the Countess, her eyes widened, still flabbergasted by the news. “It is truly awful. I suppose most people don’t expect that to happen. I’m sure your husband would never do that to you, though.” She reaffirmed her, picking her clothes off the floor and placing them on chest of drawers to sort out later. Patricia nodded at her request, taking the free spot to sit down next to her.
“Don’t be silly,” Aeditha said with a smile “You’re a wonderful dancer.” She carefully undid the rest of the small braids twisted up on her head, her long blonde curls falling down her back. “Thank you, though I suppose the only thing I can do is hope that it’ll will never happen to me. I’d like to believe that he is faithful, but there have been times when I’ve doubted him. Is that terrible?” Aeditha asked softly as she rolled over to face Patricia.

“i’m sorry she is,” he said, though there was a certain halt to his words, a reservedness that wad not quite warranted. “Yet, everyone has to deal with terrible bosses.” The god was calm, as he said the words, knowing he had never had to deal with a single bad boss in his life. If they did, they didn’t last too long, after all. He did just what she was asking for. He didn’t want to help her, without any promise of a reward. And, frankly, he doubted she’d be able to keep up with what he wanted as a reward.
Cress ran her fingers through her long blonde hair feeling more and more frustrated with each passing moment. “Look, it’s not like I’m complaining about a boss who’s a little mean and yells at me sometimes. She is an evil person and made me do horrible things for her, just so she could get ahead in life and if I hadn’t done those things I would have been dead a long time ago. I have money, I can pay you if that’s what you want?”

It was difficult not to make a rather un-royal sounding snorting noise when Aeditha called her grandfather wise, but years of keeping her emotions to herself allowed her to manage somehow. “He’s experienced in matters of government,” she said simply, thinking for a moment, “Our predecessor? He was on the throne for 17 years. Which is 17 years too long in the opinions of most.”
“I’m sure that they will. It’s been so long since they had a ruler who genuinely cared about their well-being and that’s something that we want to make sure they’re aware of.”
Aeditha’s brow furrowed slightly, in her Kingdom it was common for the people to want their rulers to be in power for quite some time, especially if they were well-liked. “Oh really? Why is that? If you don’t mind me asking?”
Aeditha nodded before tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear “Will you and your husband both talk to your people, or will it just be him?”
blckwiidowbaby:
“Not if they aren’t teaching you how to defend yourself and take care of yourself properly in the field.” She shook her head before considering her next question with a frown. “Probably light cardio, and some pilates.” She shrugged as she looked at her. “And defense training.”
Cress nodded slightly feeling a little annoyed that she had spent all that time thinking she had been learning something from her training but really she hadn’t. Her brow furrowed slightly “How does pilates help?” she asked curiously.
silentempress:
“be-friend them. the stronger you are to your employees, the harder they will work for you.” that has always been her philosophy and it has worked out so far. “i don’t know?! i was crowned seven years ago? so, perhaps, six years?”
“I’ve tried that.” Aeditha said with a sigh “But quite a few of them were people my father hired while he was still working there and I think that sometimes they liked him better than they like me. I suppose I could try again though. That is quite a long time then, what was your coronation like?”
shctterme:
“Yeah.” A nod, she’d decided. Perhaps this would do her some good, dragging her away from the work she normally did. “Maybe with both of us, we might do alright - oh I doubt that, I’m awful with these kinds of things.”
Aeditha smiled softly “You’re probably right, who knows we might both be amazing at it.” She paused for a moment trying to think “I know that I have some embroidery thread at home but I’m not sure about needles, fabric or hoops. I might have to go out and buy some.”

Hana tilted Anna’s chin towards her and kissed the other woman lightly. “You’re perfect, love. I promise they won’t think you’re boring– even if you wear something else. You’re the most fierce when you’re the most self confident, right?” If they think you’re boring, they’re assholes, Hana would have said three months ago, but she’d learned to watch her language in this house, she didn’t want the girls thinking their mother’s girlfriend was batshit crazy. JD’s was where she’d found solace after her abortion at eighteen, lost herself in the world of body art. “I’m giving you thirty minutes to get ready. I won’t even…” Hana kissed her again, this time more deeply, “Interfere all that much,” she said breathlessly as she pulled away.
A blush quickly spread across Anna’s cheeks when the other woman called her perfect and she quickly hid her face so that Hana wouldn’t see her embarrassment. “Thank you, and you’re right,” she muttered softly under her breath. She had heard lots of stories about her girlfriend’s work and was excited to meet everyone, but she was still nervous that wouldn’t like her, even after Hana tried to assure her that that wouldn’t be the case. “Okay, I’ll be ready by then.” Anna smiled before kissing her back. “Good, because I don’t want to be meeting your coworkers for the first with only half my makeup done.” She said with a chuckle.

Mellie looked like she was in shock at her own prowess, at her own successes as she touched the desk reverently. Lila knew this wasn’t exactly part of her job, but she’d been here long enough to know– “Ma’am, don’t question yourself. The press can sense fear. They’ll eat you alive if you show weakness. You’re fierce, Madam President, you’ve got the strength to lead a country. Now. After you?” She opened the door, escorting Mellie to the press conference down the bustling halls of the white house. As soon as they opened the door to the room the conference was being held in, it felt as if they were being bombarded with cameras and questions, but the reporters calmed down as they saw the two take the podium, Lila standing guard nearby.
Mellie nodded slightly as she listened to what Lila had to say. The press had never scared her before, she had gotten quite used to talking to them over the years, but this was going to be the first time she was speaking to them as the President of the United States and she felt a little flutter in her chest every time she thought about it. “I’ll be fine, don’t worry. It’s just the getting out there that’s the problem. Once I start talking though I get more and more confident.” Mellie stepped out of the office quickly so that her heels would sink too far into the carpet as she carefully adjusted the pearls that were hanging around her neck. Before she pushed open the doors to the press conference took a few deep breaths calming her racing heart. Stepping up onto the platform she forced herself to smile before gesturing to the first reporter to ask their question, she listened attentively, her head tilted ever so slightly to the side. She paused for a moment before the words flowed easily from her lips, her response to the question had been very carefully planned though, make them think that you’re giving them plenty of information, when in fact she had omitted quite a few of the details. After she had finished answering she gestured to another reporter and the process started all over again.
Are you happy? I’m about to be the President of the United States.

Teddy was busy filing some papers when she’d noticed her new boss coming in. The woman seemed occupied, so she decided to wait for an eventual greeting. “Eh, yes. I’m Teddy.” She walked over to the woman to shake hands.
A soft smile appeared on her face when the other woman said what her name was, “My son’s name is Teddy, except he’s a toddler. Has someone told you yet what you are supposed to be doing?”
idyllicism:
An eyebrow rose up slowly at her words, but after considering them, Scarlet decided not to bother asking – instead, she shrugged her shoulders, and watched her friend move over towards the printer. With the laptop left on its own, she leaned over to look at a few more pictures of their destination, shifting so she was laying on her belly across the couch. “I do, I do. Don’t worry about it – even if I’m not travelling, I make sure all my documents are up to date. Nothing’s going to stop us from this vacation. I need this,” The blonde hummed happily, as she looked at a few more pictures, gaze skimming over the information given, too. “This place looks fancy. You are the best friend ever for doing this with me, you know? I need a break so fucking bad.”
Aeditha pulled the tickets out of the printer and checked that all the flight information on them was correct. Before her gaze swept around her living room trying to see if there was anything lying around that she would need to take with her. “Oh that’s good.” A smile appeared on her face at Scarlet’s words. “Well you know, I try to be,” she said with a chuckle. “Maybe I should get that printed on a t-shirt or something.”
Daniel picked up his cup, taking a sip. ❛Not much. I spent most of the day at the university – the usual. What about yours?❜
“Did you have any good classes today?” Cress asked curiously. “I just worked for a few hours and then watched TV, my day wasn’t very exciting.”
blckwiidowbaby:
“Then you aren’t training with the right people.” She said with a shake of her head and frown as she looked at her. “I’m smaller than most of my opponents and still manage to hold my own against them without them knocking me down.” She replied as she looked at her. “You need to train then, cardio, lifting weights, hell pilates or ballet will build up muscle for you.” She said like it was obvious.
Cress nodded her head slightly, all that sounded like a lot of hard work, but she supposed it would all be worth it if she could actually learn to defend herself “I thought I was training with good people” she said with a sigh “Okay, I’ll do that, which one is better to start off with?”

Clover attached a few more flowers to her crown, to fill in any of the gaps. She turned to the other, a chuckle passing through her lips. “I doubt it, but I’d like to try that with you.” Perhaps having someone else to try these things with would convince her to continue working on them; rather than giving up almost instantly.
A wide smile appeared on her face at the other woman’s words “Would you really? I think I have all the stuff that we would need because I was going to teach myself but never got around to it. Don’t worry, I’m going to be just as bad at it as you, if not worse.”
