Passionate from Miles Away (literally because I’m going to be in Alaska in like 24 hrs.) | Private Training
Sidebar: I’m just gonna score him at the bottom, if you’re super bored while I’m gone and want to write something it might be interesting to have the whole D3 squad reacting to their scoring and stuff. Only if you want to! If you do it feel free to write Andy and everyone but nooooooo pressure much LOVE <3
Preparing for the Private Training scores was one of the most taxing things that Andy had ever tried to prepare for in his life. He chose to stay up later, practicing different grips and swings with his newfound love for the Axe. It was intimidating, it was strength personified in a weapon, it was limitless. The next morning he awoke in a fog. He was dreaming about Tesla’s innocent eyes. Galaxy had chosen to let the tributes wake up on their own today. There was more freedom but more responsibility. Andy got ready slowly, but when he knocked on Tesla’s door to head down to the tribute center, he was left with no answer. “She left,” Peitro called from the living room. “About fifteen minutes ago,” he said judgmentally. Andy rolled his eyes and left the flat.
The room all the tributes were asked to wait in for the time before their turns was loud. Everyone was excited; Careers ran around trying to pump themselves up, the lower districts too had seemed to have formed an alliance. It was only Tesla, Dom, and Andy. (I’m imagining like d1,2 and 4 are an alliance, and literally like one other huge alliance with the lower districts for the arena.) Dom and Tesla already seemed to have caught up by the time Andrew came up to them. He watched as Tesla’s smile faded to his approach. “Hey guys,” he said weakly, and sat down across from them. He made no effort to join in their previous conversation, and they didn’t try to include him. Just as well, he thought. Andy needed to focus.
lol so I’m exhausted and I don’t feel like writing anymoreeee lol so basically he swings his axe around and actually impresses the game makers and gets like a 9/12 woop woop nice ok good talk
I’ve had this pic saved on my computer for forever lol awkward here IT IS
Training Day 2.5
Tesla let herself be pulled away, not that she had much of an option. When it came down to it, she knew Andy was very strong. As soon as they were in the hall she pulled her arm away from him, his fingerprints still leaving their red print on her skin long after he released her. “What?” She asked with a dead stare.
Andrew sighed deeply, clearly frustrated. He smacked his hand against the concrete wall. The sound echoed through the lobby, but for the most part people ignored them, which was surprising. “There are a lot of eyes on us, Tesla,” he said patiently. Taking his hand in her’s, he looked into her eyes. For the first time all day, he felt a genuine tug at his heartstrings. “I mean it when I say this,” he said quietly. Only speaking to Tesla now, “I love you. And I’m sorry that this pressure is getting to us, but we need to work together. You said it yourself, I need you just as much as you need me in this.”
Training Day 2.5
It was out of character for Tesla but she still rose her voice, “HEY. You don’t get to call me that.” It felt good to stand up for herself. It felt good to speak up. “I don’t care if you think I’m bossy. I am not a slut or a hoe or a bitch or a cunt. You don’t get to call me that.” One of the career tributes who was near enough smirked and smacked the arm of what was surely another career tribute. Catching sight of them, a strategy-always-first Tesla quickly balled up Andy’s shirt and brought him down to her height to kiss him so that they would confuse her anger for passion. Her eyes remained wide open.
Andy paused when she raised her voice. He froze, considering her points. Just as he was about to accept defeat and admit that Tesla was right, she pressed her lips to his. His eyes were wide open, making eye contact with Tesla, he narrowed his eyes at her then broke away. Grabbing her arm somewhat forcefully, he pulled her into the hall. “You come with me,” he said through his teeth. Galaxy watched them walk away but chose not to stop them.
Training Day 2.5
Tesla tried not to make any sounds but with Andy’s weight crashing against her lower back she couldn’t help but gasp in pain. The more pressure he applied the more tears piled up in the corners of her eyes. Still, she refused to verbally give up, so much so that Galaxy was forced to come in and break it up for them. As soon as Andy let go of her she dropped flat against the ground, her whole body aching. She slowly got on her knees and stood up. “Play smarter, not harder.” Now Tesla wanted to punch Galaxy. With every passing moment she was feeling even more humiliated and forced to be looked at as the weaker one. “Does he understand that without me he won’t be getting any sponsors?” Tesla spoke swiftly and the vein on her forehead was back. “He needs me just as much as I need him and he knows it. You know it.” This was the first time Tesla had said anything even mildly above a monotone voice towards Galaxy. “If I have to play smarter, then he has to keep up.”
“I have to keep up?” Andy snapped, turning his attention solely to Tesla. Galaxy was happy enough to stay out of it. She turned to walk away. “Tesla, there’s this thing called grace. Do you know what that is? I spent all day being bossed around by you and you teased me like I was some sort of pet to you.” He groaned, turning away from her. “Cunt,” he murmured under his breath.
Training Day 2.5
I don’t know, was Tesla’s immediate response but she knew not to speak useless things so she remained quiet as she struggled beneath Andy’s grip. She spat at his face which backfired a little bit because her own saliva landed on her as well but a good part of it dripped on Andy’s nose after which she head butted him, which also backfired but served its purpose in getting Andy to move enough to shift her weight and push him off her.
The spit hardly phased him, but it distracted him enough that when Tesla head butted him, it caught him off guard. She wriggled out of his grip, shoving him off of her, but Andy was stronger. Grabbing her by the waist, he flipped her over onto her stomach and grabbed her arms roughly. Pinning them behind her back, he pushed all of his weight into her lower back with his knee. “Give it up, Tesla.” He spoke close to her ear, hissing the words. It was only then that he had realized how angry she had made him in the past few hours. Tesla was bossy and controlling, and after being shoved around all day during the scavenger hunt, he couldn’t handle having her reject him again. It was all he could do to show her who was boss now. “That’s enough, Randy.” Galaxy said. Reluctantly, Andy stood up, letting go of Tesla with a little shake. He stood at attention toward Galaxy, who still looked disappointed in both of them. “Do you understand now why you need him on your side Tesla? Play smarter, not harder.”
Training Day 2.5
“Don’t test me.” Andy’s voice went low and frightening but Tesla didn’t flinch. She lowered her head but glared at him. She would never get an opportunity such as this one ever again. “Do not tell me what to do, Andrew,” she shot back. Something about the control over her tone and her breathing was terrifying, a robot like quality similar to Galaxy’s. Without warning she shot forward but slid in between Andy’s legs using her small frame to her advantage. From behind him, she kicked him so that he fell forward. “Bone density, Tesla,” Galaxy urged. And so Tesla listened, punching Andy in the back of his neck with the strength of her elbow. A complete sense of satisfaction filled her with every successful hit.
With great power comes great responsibility lol, and that was a lesson that Tesla had yet to learn. Growing up in a home where hands were the only tools of communication, Andy learned at a young age how to manage being hit and how to dish it out when necessary. Now, he could only anticipate Tesla so much. She was unpredictable, she was a firecracker and insane at times, but Andy knew she would find a way to get behind him. Before he could even process, Galaxy spoke from behind him, instructing Tesla on where to go next. He toppled forward, falling to the ground. Andy ducked his head and protected his neck. Swiftly, he grabbed her ankles and dragged her right down to the ground with him. Andy straddled her, holding her arms down with his knees. “Good,” Galaxy said behind Andy. She had moved her position as they fought, he noted. “Now Tesla, how would you get out of this?”
Training Day 2.5
Tesla gave a half hearted nod. As the Games approached, she realized that so did the end of her life. She was determined to give it her all but was discouraged by how everyone else seemed to believe her “all” wouldn’t be getting her past the cornucopia. Regardless, she stood and followed Galaxy out of the floor. Once they were out in the hallway, she reluctantly took Andy’s hand but didn’t look at him. She felt sick but knew now was not the time for dramatics. So she attempted a small smile until they entered the training center. “Ok.” Galaxy broke the silence. “Hand to hand will be priority. The greatest concern will be after you dispose of the tribute from Ten. He will protect you for only so long. From there, you will be on your own. So take position here, Andy you stand over here.” Galaxy moved them around and then commanded they imitate her posture.
Andy did his best to imitate Galaxy’s position. The tribute center was shockingly very busy at the midday mark. Tributes from other districts seemed frantic, following their own training plan. By now, it seemed that the other Mentors had either left to talk with sponsors or trusted their tributes enough to let them train on their own. Andy was thankful that Galaxy was willing to allocate more time to him and Tesla. “It’s important to remember that balance is the key factor in any hand-to-hand combat. You lose your balance and it’s game over, but you can easily win by getting your enemy off center.” Galaxy squat down, motioning for Andy to do the same. He mirrored her position, but she quickly moved to make adjustments; straightening his back, pulling his knees in closer to the center of his body. After Galaxy did this both with Tesla and Andy, all she said was. “Fight.” Andy made eye contact with Tesla for the first time since their fight, and immediately swung, getting her in the cheek the horse had gotten her earlier that morning. She fell of balance, stumbling to the side.
Andy felt horrible hurting Tesla like that. “Oh babe, I’m so sorry,” he said, quickly rushing to her side. He could hear Galaxy’s disagreement in the background, but he pushed it aside. “Are you okay?” He said as he helped Tesla to stand again. She shook free of his grip without another word. Andy’s hands felt cold where he had only just held Tesla. She moved across him, getting into position quickly, and hit him equally as, if not more, hard before Andrew could even move. He cupped his jaw in his hands, and laughed sadistically. “You don’t know what you’re getting yourself into, Tesla,” he said under his breath. “Don’t test me,” he warned in a terrifyingly low voice.
Training Day 2.5
Pietro scoffed under his breath and Tesla knew it was for her. His arm was still linked with hers and while normally Tesla would opt for the lesser amount of physical contact, she felt a degree of comfort. “As for you, I went through your file.” “We have files?” Tesla asked immediately. “District Three has files, transcripts from the academies. This is how I know you excel in the sciences. So I have chosen a less traditional route for you. Bombs, explosives, poison even, the like.” “That weapon will get me immediately killed in close combat,” Tesla said thoughtfully. “You’re a little over 5 feet and 100 pounds, any weapon in close combat will get you immediately killed.” Tesla was beginning to resent the lack of confidence that everyone seemed to have on her but she said nothing of it. “That is why you’ll have him,” Galaxy said, referring to Andy. “You’re long distance, he’s close combat. You will complete each other.”
“Well, then I guess you guys are stuck together!” Esterly said cheerily. Andy tried his best to smile at Tesla, but was met with no response. Just a cold, blank stare straight ahead. The silence that followed after Esterly’s statement hung heavily in the room. Galaxy released a short breath and cleared her throat. “Alright, since you two clearly had a 360 in relationship we’re training together. This needs to sell for it to work. Sort through you’re issues as we train, I’ll teach you both some basic combat and then focus on each weapon. Got it?”
Training Day 2.5
Galaxy had to know that Tesla would protest because as soon as Tesla felt the urge to say something, their mentor’s eyes were already glued on her. She did not want to play a helpless damsel much less one that was in love. “Ok. I won’t argue. But you won your games just by being intelligent.” “And heartless.” Galaxy responded without missing a beat. “Which you are not, no matter how much you wish to pretend you are. The matter is not up for discussion.” Galaxy crossed her arms and looked over at Andy. “Your job is to protect her. Even if you split up after the first day, you still have to protect her, at least that one full day. Sponsors line up on day 1. If you can be convincing, their gifts will have been bought and they cannot take them back, even if you do split up on day 2. So the plan for the arena is that you more than tolerate each other for a full day, from there on I won’t care what you do except for attempt to survive with the gifts you earned.”
After the matter was sorted, Galaxy jumped into a different groove. Pointing her finger at Andy, she raised her eye brows in the most animated way he had ever seen Galaxy portray. “You have to portray the super caring boyfriend.” Isn’t that what I already am? “This meaning you would kill for your girlfriend. Not help her until it isn’t convenient for you anymore. Be the man who would rather die than exist a day on this Earth without Tesla by your side, understood?” Andy sort of rolled his eyes as he nodded, and Esterly cleared her throat. “--Yes, Galaxy.” He responded quickly. “You fought Dom with an Axe, right? That’s what you’ll stick with.”
Training Day 2.5
Tesla took a long, long shower and scrubbed her skin raw until she felt some form of comfort in the cleanliness of her burning skin. She was disgusted, not with Andy, but with herself and of her past. She had just turned off the water when the whistling came from the living room. She would be a minute late but her care for the matter was decreasing with each passing day. She put on a new outfit provided by the avox and quickly untangled her hair. By the time she made her way to the living room everyone else had already assembled. “Nice of you to join us,” Galaxy said, but there was a large touch of sarcasm in her words. “Take a seat on the table, we’re going to discuss a few things of importance, and because we have agreed that you two will be working together in the arena, we will discuss this as a team.” Tesla didn’t make eye contact with Andy but was instead met with Pietro’s gaze who had walked by her side and linked his arm with her. “I’m sitting next to you,” he said protectively. It made Tesla want to smile and she nodded as they moved to the dining room.
Dannell, who seemed just as confused as Andy was by Pietro’s actions, gave him a gentle pat on the back as they went to sit down. He hadn’t seen much of her lately, and he was glad to be in her company, even if only for a few moments. Galaxy stood in front of the Tributes, Designers and Esterly who all sat in a row at the dining room table. “Once you’re in there, I can’t tell you what to do. But if you want my help while you’re in there, you will follow my every instruction that I give you today and tomorrow.” The atmosphere in the room significantly dropped. “Let’s start with Tesla,” she said after a pause. “You’ve got those beautiful innocent eyes, but we all know that your looks won’t help you. You wouldn’t last a day in that arena without Andy.” Andy tried to make eye contact with Tesla, but she kept her stoic expression forward. “Since you both showed the Capitol how in love you both are,” she almost inflected enough to mocked them, but this was Galaxy Berto. She had no time to mock them. “That’s the angle we’re playing here. Tesla, you’re helplessly in love with Randy Soplon. And Randy, you will do anything to protect her. This is what the four of us have decided and this is what we’re going with. There are no arguments.” Galaxy stared directly at Tesla.
Training Day 2.5
I just made a new post even tho it’ll prob be short.
Andrew did his best to hide his expression as Tesla left his room. His best friend, his district partner, the love of his life decided to chose logic over love. This was just like back at home, Tesla always did seem like a prude. Andy did her a favor by telling everyone her little secret. Grabbing one of the pillows from his bed, he threw it at the door in a vehement rage. The lamp on his bedside table knocked to the floor, causing the glass of the lightbulb to shatter. But he didn’t care. Still breathing heavily, he made his way into the bathroom to take a cold shower and calm down.
Only a few minutes after he had dried off and gotten dressed, there was a high pitched whistle that came from the living room. The noise made him jump, but at this point, he was hardly phased by Galaxy’s weird noises. When he entered the room, Esterly was jumping around with the whistle in her hands, clearly excited that Galaxy let her blow the whistle this time. The four members of the District Three team stood across from Andy. Looking around, he asked “Where’s Tesla?” “Shouldn’t you know where your girlfriend is?” Pietro said sarcastically, and narrowed his eyes at Andrew. Somewhat taken aback, he could only blink in response. Why was he so mad?
Training Day Two
When Andy’s voice rose Tesla moved away from him until she was off of his lap. “Can’t do what?” Tesla asked, her eyes had become cold from his reaction. “You can’t tease me like this.” Tesla stood up, offense-taken heavily written on her face. Her voice was low and calm, but stern. “Me kissing you is no indication that I have to sleep with you, Andrew. And if you think that stating that you love me while I’m in here is what will lead to that, then you are heavily mistaken.”
“Fuck, Tesla. You’re not listening.” He took the opportunity to stand up and pace. “You don’t understand what you’re doing.” Finally, he stopped moving and looked at himself in the mirror. “You wouldn’t have kissed me like that if--” Andrew took a deep breath. “You know what? You’re right,” he said calmly. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what came over me.” His tone had a hidden sense of sarcasm, but he knew that Tesla was right. Andy could be an asshole when we wanted, but not to someone he loved this much.
Training Day Two
Tesla was all too happily kissing Andy with a sweet sense of satisfaction obtained from knowing that he was enjoying this just as much, if not more. His voice grew quieter and his hands were softly stroking the visible skin between her blouse and her pants. “You know I would never do anything to hurt you,” he said, and Tesla opened her eyes, keeping them open even as he kissed her. She could feel his own excitement in his pants and suddenly grew stiff. She wanted him. She knew that much. But her mind was stronger than the rest of her, shouting a big strong N O. He was wrong before he had even finished his next sentence because he already had, he already had hurt her and she was still in the process of recovery. “I’m so glad that I’m here with you.” She stopped kissing him back and spoke when he noticed. “You love me,” she said softly, her hand on his chest with her eyes staring deep into his, “So then you’ll understand. I’m not going to sleep with you.”
Quickly Andy took the opportunity to move faster than he intended, but Galaxy didn’t offer them much time. Gently, he pawed at her clothes, wanting so badly for them to come off. His hands slowly began to move up her chest when she stopped kissing him. “You love me,” she sounded too serious. “Tesla--” “So then you’ll understand. I’m not going to sleep with you.” Her voice was stern. Anger began to bubble within him. “Tesla, you can’t do this,” he said in a low, warning voice. “That’s not fair! You can’t tease me like this.” He spat the words at her.
