❝OF COURSE. WHY WOULD that be surprising to you?❞ Didn’t people come and go from these cities all the time? Then again, Vash had looked at him oddly when he was asking for directions to the next city. If he was traveling and found his way there, then how was it he had no idea where to go next? That was probably the other’s initial thoughts. He never asked, but it made him wonder if he should attempt to be more careful going forward. Unfortunately, one way or another, he probably stood out just as much as Vash did beside him. Sighing softly at the thought, he lifted his drink to his lips, taking a sip of its contents and making a slight face. Alcohol in this world was horrendous. At the other’s latter words, he turned his focus back to them, gold meeting bright blue. ❝And what would make you say that, Mr. Stampede? That is quite an intriguing statement to make. You will make me feel self-conscious with words like those.❞ There was a hint of tease there, easiness in the smirk that touched his lips, yet he searched for the slightest shift in the other.

there's  a  slight  quirk  of  amusement  that  twitches  at  the  corners  of  his  lips  at  the  wordless  souring  of  expression,       taking  a  moment  to  take  a  sip  of  his  own  drink  in  mimicking  the  others  motions      (      hoping  to  ease  discomfort      ).        the  bottom  of  the  glass  gently  thunks  against  the  worn  wood  of  the  countertop.        it  wasn't  that  he  necessarily  suspected  that  ozymandias  was  up  to  no  good,      but  rather  the  moments  where  thoughts  seemed  to  churn  and  process  new  information      (      recalling  the  vague  confusion  at  the  mention  of  plants      )      on  top  of  the  unfamiliarity  with  certain  towns  and  cities  that  he  initially  had  seemed  to  reside  in.        anyone  that  had  survived  through  the  desolate  sandscape  would  have  known  how  dependent  every  city  was  on  their  own  plant,        but  vash  had  merely  taken  the  observation  and  tucked  it  away  for  a  later  date  which  had  evidently  come  due.

             ❛      –      i  don't  mean  to  offend  you  or  anything,        we  just  –        don't  tend  to  get  a  lot  of  visitors  way  out  here.      ❜            a  half  smile  on  his  lips,      teal  gaze  shifting  over  towards  once  of  molten  gold.        he  had  adapted  well  to  the  world  around  him,        he  could  say  as  much,       but  not  quite  enough  to  escape  vash's  notice.       head  tilts  back,      glasses  slipping  back  into  place  as  gaze  shifts  back  towards  the  dusty  trinkets  that  sit  atop  a  high  shelf  above  the  bar.            ❛      if  you  want  the  truth?        i  guess  you  could  say  that  i've  made  my  way  around  the  cities,      and  i  can't  say  i  remember  ever  meeting  you,      ❜            a  quiet  chuckle,      head  dipping  back  forward  again  as  forefinger  lightly  taps  against  the  glass  in  his  hand  as  eyes  flick  back  over  towards  the  company  which  he  shares  in.

CONTINUED FROM HERE

he  finds  himself  observantly  watching  the  other,       brows  lifting  higher  onto  his  forehead  with  the  smile  on  his  face  never  faltering.       there's  not  an  ounce  of  preservability  that  he  displays  as  the  devil  hunter  circles  him  with  prying  eyes,      the  thought  of  dante  potentially  sizing  him  up  should  things  result  in  less  savory  results  failing  to  even  cross  his  mind.      it  would  not  come  to  light  in  the  present  moment,      but  vash  finds  a  certain  excitement  in  meeting  the  famous  devil  hunter,       the  sea  green  eyes  taking  note  of  just  how  alike  he  looked  to  another  devil  he  had  met  once  upon  a  time   (  how  long  ago  it  seems  now,  that  two  souls  had  met  with  shared  ideals  ).      smile  remains  a  little  too  radiant,       a  little  too  easy  as  hands  plant  themselves  on  hips  with  chest  puffing  out  proudly  at  the  compliment  upon  similar  tastes. 

                                    ❛      by  the  state  of  them,      i  can  see  that  they've  both  known  better  days.      ❜

boisterous  laugher,        hands  dropping  from  his  sides  as  he  eagerly  nods  at  the  suggestion  and  hand  reaches  down  to  the  holster  on  his  hip  to  swiftly  thumb  the  buckle  that  rests  at  the  side,       freeing  the  gun  and  slipping  out  to  rest  within  the  palm  of  his  hand.       the  revolver  gleams  with  the  stories  it  holds,      boasting  with  the  care  that  often  goes  into  taking  care  of  it  despite  its  make     (     though  modified  beyond  belief     )     a  .45  caliber  that's  been  taken  apart  and  put  back  together  to  the  point  that  it  was  unrecognizable  and  seemingly  rendered  nearly  entirely  useless.      at  least  to  those  that  wouldn't  know  what  use  it  was  put  to.      the  blond  seems  proud  of  the  weapon  despite  it  all,       the  grin  on  his  face  telling  as  much  as the  swift  'click'  as  the  barrel  drops  forward  to  reveal  the  empty  chamber.        he's  proud  of  the  contraption,        modifications  and  all,        and  holds  it  out  for  @devilsparda  to  better  view.

                                  ❛      it's  a  little  old,        but  it  still  does  what  i  need  it  to  do,      ❜            barring  the  fact  that  the  weapon  was  probably  well  over  2000  years  old  now,            ❛        but  what  about  yours?       can't  say  i've  never  seen  anything  like  them.      ❜           he  poses  as  head  inclines  to  try  and  catch  a  better  glance  at  the  weapons  under  the  devil's  coat.

     𝐬𝐡𝐞'𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐟 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 .   it should stand to reason,  then, that galinda responds in kind:  a giddy little giggle, hands briefly clasped together at chest-level, before each should take to a corner of her skirts to offer a curtsy in response.   ❛ well, how could i ever turn down such a gentlemanly offer ?  ——— in fact ... ... . ❜  she's inclined to take vash's hand, but quickly diverts: instead, she finds herself brushing his stray locks out of his eyes with her fingers, brow furrowed in concentration.  and once the job is done, and she's satisfied she's teased his locks back into order, she smiles triumphantly, finally putting her hand in his.   ❛  see ?  now no one will even notice .  oh, no need to thank me ;  goodness knows we'd ought to come to the aid of others in times of need !  ❜  and yes, as far as galinda is concerned, the "hair emergency" was, in fact, a time of need.   ❛  now, shall we ?  ❜

he  blinks  as  the  hand  diverts  from  his  own  outheld  one  to  instead  smooth  away  the  feathering  strands  that  had  poked  into  his  eyes.      a  quiet  chuckle,        nervous  in  its  nature,        manages  to  slip  out  of  him  as  other  hand  lifts  up  to  rub  at  the  back  of  his  neck   (   especially  once  her  hand  finally  finds  itself  in  his   ).        the  smile  he  gives  her  is  innocent  enough,        knowing  her  to  always  be  one  worried  about  appearances  as  well  as  those  around  her,        and  that  she  would  take  the  time  to  attend  to  his  own  little  mishap  is  endearing  in  of  itself.        just  one  dance,        he  had  thought,        though  he  found  himself  surprised  that  she  had  agreed  to  it,       but  is  equally  elated  that  she  had.       a  single  nod,        pulling  her  out  onto  the  dancefloor  with  the  throngs  of  other  students  from  shitz  university.

                             ❛      i'll  have  you  know  that  i'm  a  rather  good  dancer,        a  lot  of  people  think  i  tend  to  have  two  left  feet.      ❜       perhaps  in  a  lot  of  other  ways  he  did,        with  the  way  that  he  floundered  about  a  majority  of  the  time,       though  not  most  would  have  expected  it  to  be  intentional  rather  than  the  other  way  around.
