NOTE: unfortunately i have a feeling this is probably very us-centric because i've heard from a few international students i've taught and met over the years that their countries use other citation styles. so, if you're from another country that uses other types of citations, please say so in the tags and tell me about them/which one is your favourite! i'm a writing tutor and former history instructor and i love learning about stuff like this!
