it's like damn are people like not born in the 90's anymore?
this all goes back to how sometime around the late 90s/early 2000s they stopped making people born in the 90s and switched over to making people born in the 2000s. it's not a coincidence

Young Aiglamene, as a little treat
The epilogue in Nona is making me go crazier. What do you mean "Afterwards"??? Just what happened between the time it took them to come out from the tomb and Alecto to reach Jod.
Most of all I want to read the epilogue from Harrow's POV. Your childhood crush, the one who made you want to continue living, wakes up, kisses you and swears fealty to you. Your two allies (closest thing that you have to friends) have become one. The guy that tried to kill you multiple times is there and looking at you with such an expression that shakes you to the bottom of your core. Most of all, your cavalier, the love of your life (even if you aren't ready to accept it yet), is also there, alive as she can be, and she is already picking a fight with your childhood crush.
No wonder Harrow passes out.

like say what you will but basically what's happend to ianthe is she's spent her entire life playing second to her sister while working twice as hard than she ought in order to compensate for corona's lack of power. while receiving no recognition for her feats of necromatic power. she finally becomes lyctor and is immediately upstaged by cythrea then harrow. gets her ass beat by the former and spends the next book playing second to the latter who's literally gods special favourite pseudo-daughter now. despite the fact shes's more defective than ianthe. oh and then. ianthe chooses god. chooses to be his last loyal saint but oops! his real daughter shows up. so. ianthe still isn't the most interesting or important person in the room. one of the two things she wants the most. plus her shitty coworker is throwing a temper tantrum in her skull this whole time cause she ate him. i'm just saying she's having a shit immortal life so far
One of the things so good about Muir's writing is that she knows in which particular ways the characters have a bad view of themselves, and puts them in situations that reinforce that view constantly.
i love this wild book series so much
ianthe has had so many wrenches thrown into her plans, but she still keeps moving and trying to be the best 🙂↕️ she’s so determined to be the most important
and tamsyn muir writes this soooo well
today I used the phrase "breasting boobily" in casual real life conversation and everyone was shocked asking how I came up with that and I had to explain it. ive been at the devil's sacrament so long that I forgot he wasn't god
“I’ve been at the devil’s sacrament so long I forgot he wasn’t god” is getting added to the tumblr line book
it sure fuckin is buddy
PHRASE ADDED TO INVENTORY!

Absolute Wonder Woman and Zatanna by @Magi
If this happened in Absolute Wonder Woman, I would buy it <3
Reading older Black queer writing, it always strikes me how whites never goddamn change, whether it’s 1920 or 1987 or 2023.
It’s so fascinating to me how a lot of people accused me of inventing the idea of “marginalized white people are white before they’re marginalized” but I constantly see writings/media from ages ago referencing it. For example, in this Black lesbian piece from 1987 there’s multiple references to it but I’ll pull one:
“‘And we wanted to meet others like ourselves—‘ Patrice added, gently.
‘Like yourselves?’ The words were thrown like acid by J.L.
You goddamn racist! Lettie thought, as the beer churned sourly in her stomach. Beer and anger don’t mix. White racists and Black militants don’t mix, and white lesbians and Black lesbians are white and Black people first, instilled with personal backgrounds of distrust and hostilities.
Seeing the smoldering fire in Lettie’s eyes, J.L. backed away, putting out the cigarette in an ash tray on the edge of the table. ‘Uh—well—you see, this is kind of a private organization.’ She conjured up a weak grin, which became a clown’s grimace. ‘We meet at each other’s houses sometimes and we are all—er—friends.’”
–A Meeting of the Sapphic Daughters by Ann Allen Shockley (1987) in Mouths of Rain: An Anthology of Black Lesbian Thought
I read this and I think of how a “staunch abolitionist” white trans woman told me “it would behoove you to seek them out [Black trans people] and study their vibes.” How those who are supposed to be in solidarity with us as queer folks are committed to ensuring we “know our place” if we try to disrupt the status quo. So many white queers just.. continue the racism of their predecessors with no qualms so long as it fits them. I hate that so little changes.
