So hes a tiefling.... because his father is a tiefling. Her mother shelters him within the palace, being by his side and taking little qi rong to walks, until she dies and qi rong is kinda.... uu kept between the palace walls, he isn't really allowed to go outside, this lack of social interactions make him more of a trouble child, until he goes "fuck this" and runs away.
Tieflings are really skilled with magic so qi rong does learns a few tricks, the ones he dems more useful to survive.
He ends up taking a job as an assasain, and he does it really well, he once managed to kill a few important people, but he doesn't remembers that well.
In one of his job he finds his target is already dead! The man drank himself to death, as qi rong sees the dead body, thinking about doing some gashes in it to make it seem like he did kill the man he notices a small figure.
Its another tiefling, a really little one, but the father is a human, so not only does this man was and alcoholic he aslo made a weird pact with some demon.
Qi rong triest to leave when sudenly theres something tugging his leg. He watches as the little kid climbs to him with teary eyes , so qi rong decides to help the kid find some family members.
Theres none, not only there doesn't seem to be any person close to that man, no one recognizes the child, did that man was so ashamed about people finding out he contacted a demon he hid his own son, against everything qi rong decides to take the child, he will leave him in the next town or village he finds, the kid, no, Guzi is a really good kid.
However it seems that whenever hes about to find a good place for guzi sonething bad happens. Qi rong is not dumb, he knows his job leaved a few resented people there and there wanting revenge, and while he hasn't made a mistake that could make people figure him out he can't takd thd risk, so he finds another job, a temporal one until he finds a safe home for Guzi.
As for this new job, he hunts down animals and sells their parts, its a job where he can kept in use his assasain skills, teach Guzi how to hunt and survive by his own and they can move constantly.
One time while hunting, they prey leads both of them to a cave and when Qi rong is about to kill the animal, someone punchs him so hard hes sent flying.
Only to see a man really furious whos saying some shit like "Why would you kill them!" "What did they do to you?!" As he keeps punching him, okay asshole maybe stop hitting me so i can talk?
So they star fighting, until a voice yells fir them to stop, is guzi, theres a bigger thing outside the cave looking at them, The man seems schoked about the kid, exchanging glances towards Qi rong and Guzi.
Qi rong uses this moment to get off the man grip grab guzi and star to run! He will not fight something that big, especially while guzi is present, sure he can pull up a fight he would totally win, but it could put guzi in danger, so nope!
The man is soon runing along them with a weird expresion on him, but whatever, they will totally fight properly when guzi is safe.
They exit the cave catching their breath, putting guzi down and telling him to go back to their camp to prepare the fire, once the child is far enough he goes and punches the man in the face.
How does he dare not only hit him but aslo put guzi in danger! Surely his stupid yelling is what make that thing bring its attention to them.
The man reveals to be Lan qianqiu, saying how Qi rong killed his parents and that he swore to find the culprit.
But honestly... Qi rong has killed alot of people but he never bothered to learn their names, he was only doing it to get some coins and survive.
The man stares at Qi rong as if hes thinking something maybe he mistook the person? Whatever, guzi is waiting for him, just as hes walking he feels a sharp pain in his leg, looking down, he got a really bad injury and now that the adrenaline wore down he can feel it.
With much difficulty he makes it back to his camp, not before making sure to hide the wound, guzi doesn't have go know. Guzi is already skining the other animals they caught yesterday. They make a nice food thanks to qi rong epic culinary talent and once Guzi entered the caravan to sleep, does he looks back at "Lan Qianqiu".
-"Is... is he your son?" The man ask with a wary tone, maybe suspecting Qi rong kidnapped him.
-"I just take care of him, i will drop him off in the next village" Qi rong says knowing this is a lie, he has been traveling with guzi for a few months now, and he just never leaves guzi in a village, he says "okay, you can stay for another trip, but next village im really dropping you off", even if the village is safe, theres always and excuse that makes him and guzi kept traveling together.
The man doesn't says anything more. Maybe hes satisfied with Qi rong reply, or maybe hes not. It doesnt matter.
-"Why... why did you killed them?"
The man finally ask, theres alot of emotions flashing trough his tone and face.
-"Listen here. You are going to need to be more specific about whoever you're talking about" Qi rong says flatly, maybe this will make the man think hes not the guy hes searching for.
-"The queen and King from Yong'an..."
Ah, those ones.... Qi rong did kill them... It was when he was a rookie, hell not even not even Qi Rong himself knows how he pulled that off.
He just made the carriage they were going in crash, but he was desperate for money.
So he says that he tells the "prince" how he needed money, how he was starving and no normal job wanted him there, so what if he went down " the easy road " killing people is not easy at all!!
But the man looks even more puzzled now.... and goes on about how that crash didn't really killed them it just leaved then injured, hes talking about other thing... so Qi rong didn't killed them?.
Aparently in the actual murdered there were some evidence about weapons and venom and weird plants that made the a few people really strong... oh qi rong remembers seeling some plants similars to a few mens, but they didn't told him for what purpouse they needed them, but Qi rong didn't care....and now look, aparently the prince of said kingdom went on a run to hunt him down.... wow just your luck Qi rong.
Anyways umm im don't feel like writing the rest but theh star to travel togheter because lan qinqiu is like "once you find a safe place for guzi we are fighting" but theh end up falling in love and live hsppily ever after
