OOC: hi! Hello! I will be running this blog for Zadkiel, my beloved OC. Call me "Admin", mod, or J. owner is @opossum-arts. I use He/it. Zadkiel uses He/it/hymn pronouns.

Information:

-Zadkiel is an archivist for the Book of Life, which holds immense power for all living beings.

-Zadkiel has a secret to be kept from heaven

-Zadkiel is related to Gabriel (brothers)

-Zadkiel has deteriorating vision from an "incident" with the Council.

-Zadkiel invented a form of Braile for himself!

-He can see, just not very well. He can still fly.

-He despises the council...

Hey all! OOC post here. I (the mod) will be having surgery tomorrow. If I don't respond, assume that's why! Hoping for a speedy recovery from my surgery.

*The sound of feathers could be heard in the Heavenly Archive that night, why was someone there so late?.. Cassiel held a lantern while moving through the halls, looking for something.. any book that could help, but.. he bumped into a bookshelf and fell, some books falling onto him, hurting.. If he could, he would have yelped..*

A VERY disgruntled and exhausted Zadkiel pads out, grumbling and muttering about the noise and the light.

"Who is there? I heard you and I can see your light. Make yourself known."

His wings spread out, making a wall of feathery light as he makes his way forwards. It's a habit he picked up when dealing with stray virtues wandering into his Archive, using his wings to give himself a sweeping area to feel a trespasser.

*Cassiel moved from beneath the bookshelf and books, looking at Zadkiel for some seconds before trying to talk.*

“I-.. I am the Archangel Cassiel.. Im sorry for.. the mess.. I-.. if I can help you with it I will.. Im so sorry..”

*He lowered his head as an apology, his wings dropped against the floor..*

"Ah. Yes, a mess...I will need help with that."

He tilts his wings downwards, in front of his feet, feeling on the floor for books and papers.

"I cannot see very well, I'm sure you know, but this is...quite a hazard for me. Especially in the dark. Doing some reading?"

He chuckles softly. Picking up a book, he feels the title. He has a system, keeping every log and tome in the correct spot.

"You can always ask for whatever you're looking for. Me, or, erm. Him."

He awkwardly waves his hands around, in the vague shape of the Principality which roams the Archives.

"I-, er, we both know this place very well. We'll be available to help. You don't need to poke around all alone."

[PT: *Cassiel moved from beneath the bookshelf and books, looking at Zadkiel for some seconds before trying to talk.* “I-.. I am the Archangel Cassiel.. Im sorry for.. the mess.. I-.. if I can help you with it I will.. Im so sorry..” *He lowered his head as an apology, his wings dropped against the floor..*

*Cassiel quickly lowered to take as much books as he could, taking some papers too, he was going to help Zadkiel as much as he could..*

“Can you hold this?.. I'll get the bookshelf up again.”

*He held the books out, never rushing Zadkiel, instead, he waited patiently..*

He holds out his hands, sighing with exertion.

"Soul transformation...Well, if anything were to exist, it would be here, written down. The Archives are organized by topic..."

He thinks on the layout, wings folding up in thought. The topic of souls would be kept near the back, away from prying eyes and fingers.

"Yes...yes, the back of the Archives, you'll know you're there when you hear the fountain."

He pauses for a moment, realizing.

"Or, er, the signs, I suppose."

He keeps the books close to his chest, hugging them. His wings shift to a light, pale green.

*Cassiel nods and gets the bookshelf back in place before gently taking the books from Zadkiels' arms to put them on their place again, sighing as he tried to calm down.. ignoring the pain.. Once he was done, he looked at the angel.*

“Before I go there.. How has everything been..?”

*He asks, moving closer, his hands moving to his own back, hidden beneath his wings.. His voice was.. friendly, calm, low.. he didn't mean any harm.. he was just curious about how Zadkiel was doing.. it was late for him to be roaming around..*

"Oh, um. A bit tired. Late edits, last minute requests..."

He let his gaze linger towards the front desk. Papers were piled and scattered. It was...well, a mess of disorganization. His wings shifted to an annoyed shade of yellow.

"Very 'important' people giving me...'important', mindless tasks."

He huffed, feeling the spines to ensure each book was in proper place. It was just something to do so he didn't fly out the archives like a bat out of Hell...

"Overall...I've been the finest I can be. I like my job...just not this one aspect."

[PT: *Cassiel nods and gets the bookshelf back in place before gently taking the books from Zadkiels' arms to put them on their place again, sighing as he tried to calm down.. ignoring the pain.. He perks his wing up, pointing to the center, where his desk sat, surrounded by shelves and shelves of organized supplies.

"I have a stack of complete work, and a stack of incomplete work. Moving them for me would be nice. They're already stamped with where they need to go."

He looks back, tilting his head. He folds his hands over his chest.

"Everyone is welcome here. I am...confused as to why you tried to sneak inside."

There's an odd squawking sound, and a rough landing. He raises, lightly dusting himself off.

"Ahem...Hello. Gabriel."

He's poised, terse.

*hearing the squawking and rough landing, Gabriel turns around to see another angel. He feels like he should know this angel but cannot place his appearance*

Oh hello! What brings you here??

He clicks, adjusting his bags.

"I half-expected to be recognized. Ironic you chose to...settle here."

His wings point outwards, turning to a jealous purple. He huffs.

"I am Zadkiel. Well met."

He bows, but it's almost patronizing, the way his wings move to an almost unnatural angle to keep close to his back.

Well….it IS the most civilized part of hell, I can’t exactly go back to heaven and the surface is inhabited by humans I’d rather not run into

He stiffens, pausing for a moment. His emotions playing on the tips of his wings and on the rings of his halo. From purple, to white, then to an even, albeit false, pale grey-blue.

"I...see. You have experienced...hardship, as well."

He sighs.

"I do not have to accept your apology. You...you know this."

He fiddles with his left hand, keeping it close to himself and his chest.

His reply comes quickly, leaving his left hand. His wings puff up, extending a little too defensively.

"I've been well. It has been...eons, since I have seen you. I hope...you are well."

His voice is tense, close to cracking, and his wings turn to a dark plum color.

He sighs, wings tucking politely under his shoulders. His wings turn a sad shade of grey. He bites his tongue.

"Life is...as fair as can be. I've...also, given things chances. I hope they do not 'blow up' in your face as they have for me."

His hand searches its way up towards his left finger, holding it close. He squeezes his own hand, shaking his head.

He shakes his head, as if trying to erase what he's said and done.

"...it's nothing. Thank you for your concern."

He sighs, wings dropping. They shifted hue, turning a dark, grungy green.

He leaned forwards, but halted. He bit his tongue. He wanted to spill, but the fear consumed him.

"I...I can imagine what you might've gone through. Must've been, um, hell."

His wings hug tighter around himself. His breaths quicken, and he clutches his own chest.

He tenses, twitching. He grips his chest tighter, mind clearly elsewhere.

His wings snap to his back, attentive.

"Right, right you are, right, sitting, um, yes...is...is there a chair?"

Slowly, he clutches his chest a little less tight, and his wings loosen up, arcing out to feel the area around himself. His feathers spread slightly.

"I....I'm sorry you had, um, you had to see...that. I...I try to be calm, really."

He realizes he's still hyperventilating, and gently squeezes his own hand while he calms down.

"Just...they're just memories. That's all."

He sighs into his hands, holding his helm tightly.

"I don't want to get into any trouble with anyone, nor tarnish my own reputation. Is it selfish? Probably. But I've bore this for ages. Longer can't possibly hurt me."

His wings covered his face, shifting hues to a light silver. Trying to hide from any light that may come through.

He murmurs from under his wings.

"...thank you. For caring. It's...hard to trust you again, but...but I'm glad you care."

He laughs, a little hollowly, but he still laughs.

"You-?! You think this is about what you did? I- you really are unbelievable!"

He laughs, gripping his sides, almost heaving. It takes him several minutes to regain composure, and when he does, it seems like he's exasperated, but not so pressed.

"I...No, Gabriel, this is not about you. You play a small part in this pain of mine. Goodness...of course you would think that, wouldn't you? No, no, no. It's...it never was about you, if I am being honest."

He lifts his wings, turning a bitter purple.

"It's about Heaven. It...it always is. They've always done something or clipped someone's wings. Or...tormented someone. For a place of the virtuous, those who run it are...not very much so."

I’m sorry I’m just…very wrapped up in the past at the moment. I should have assumed it was heavens fault…

*Gabriel has a love hate relationship with heaven, on one hand, it’s his original home. He was born and raised there, was able to raise a child there, his people are there. On the other….everything else.*

Heaven has always been tainted, whether we saw it or not. It has always been a place of false hope and lies.

I’m so sorry that they made you suffer.

He sighs, fiddling with his primaries. He thinks back on every grievance. On all wrong-doings. On...the poison.

"One of the first things they did was make me suffer. Though, that statement is probably true for all of us, eh?"

He tries to lighten up the mood, but the memories of what happened weren't...pleasant ones. At the very least, everyone understood, usually.

"They hurt all of us, you shouldn't apologize. I want...an apology from them. Stars, understatement of the millennia."

He huffed, feeling the spines to ensure each book was in proper place. It was just something to do so he didn't fly out the archives like a bat out of Hell...

"Overall...I've been the finest I can be. I like my job...just not this one aspect."

Slowly, he clutches his chest a little less tight, and his wings loosen up, arcing out to feel the area around himself. His feathers spread slightly.

He realizes he's still hyperventilating, and gently squeezes his own hand while he calms down.
