progress i guess

i finished. i drew kurapika 7 times.

i COULD go on a rant about the thought process i went through, what caused me to do this, why i love kurapika but thinking about him makes me cry,, but instead i’ll list a few things about art that i learned.

- COLOR. THEORY.

- noses look better with more saturation near the nostrils

- sparkles and highlights can make ANYTHING look better

- playing around with texture is important

- ridiculously long eyelashes can actually look pretty decent

- eyeliner. always.

- eye bags look pretty neat

- art is such an interesting thing that while it’s a good idea to take inspiration and learn from other peoples work, it’s a bad idea to compare yours to theirs. it’s like apples to oranges. Picasso’s Weeping Woman, DaVinci’s Mona Lisa, and people who do sick destiel fanart are all beautiful but hardly comparable.
