Camilla: Urgh... Europe... I miss it so much.
Camilla: Right now with my schedule, I can barely get time to make the journey from my bedroom to the kitchen lol!
Angelica: It'd been a minute since I was last there but it was tots as cute as I remembered
Angelica: Fuck your schedule. My advice? Drop everything and just go

“Right? I’m saying. These tech bros be fucking chillin non stop. I’m fucking tired. Plus your man is in the NBA now, he’s gonna take care of all of us,” Jordan joked. It had been a long time since Jordan had dated Kareem’s cousin but he still cared about that boy and all his accomplishments. “Speaking of, are we throwing a celebratory party or what?”
“Did you not catch me calling you a forty-five year old or did you ignore it? Am I loosing my touch? Maybe I should retire, too. At twenty-six it’s kinda sad to still be squeezing into dresses and flirting with men to make an extra buck. Oh, for sure he is. Even more reason to quit my job. I picked a good one.” she jokingly patted herself on the shoulder. “Tots. Him and I have celebrated plenty, but is there such a thing as too much? Also a perfect opportunity to meet your new girlfriend."

“Mm, call me baby one more time,” he teased as he leaned against her. Leaving the country for the first time to celebrate his draft had been one of the most amazing experiences. Not to mention, he had found even more ways to fall in love with Ang, another thing he never knew was possible. But the more time they were together, the more he realized just how much they fit together, how happy they could be once they let themselves open up. And there was no one else, absolutely no one else he wanted by his side for what was sure to be the ride of his life. “Right? We gotta frame that one,” he told her with a wink before they moved to the counter to pay for it. “Also Portland is cool and all but I’m 100% ready to be by that ocean with you again,” he told her and kissed her cheek before he grabbed the magazine so they could head out. “Alright, this NBA star needs to be fed. What are you in the mood for. Sushi or Tacos? Or..sushi tacos, those exist, right?”
“We should. Above the bed, perhaps? Nothing like a ménage á trois with yourself.” speaking in terms of things as theirs, such as their bed, was still very new to her. When the subject of them moving in together had been brought up it felt obvious to her, they practically lived together anyway. “Please. I missed it the second we were at the airport.” she smiled at the kiss and cuddled herself even more into his side. “I’m thinking Santorini next. Italy has it’s charm and all, but Santorini is just — other-worldly. Only downside is after it nothing else will ever compare. So, kind of like me.” she joked with a grin. “Suggest sushi tacos again and I’ll cancel all our appointments with the real-estate agent. But, tacos. There’s this new food truck a couple blocks from my work that is really good, apparently. I haven’t been yet because y’know, haven’t needed to be work since I started dating an NBA player. Honestly, twenty year old me would be so proud.”

Deciding she needed to walk off the double hamburger she ate, Teagan wandered around town,popping into shops with cute trinkets and record stores to pretentiously buy vinyls. It was a nice way to get the only workout she would ever do, and retail therapy was always an added bonus. When her feet lead her to an open market of sorts, Teagan saw it as the perfect opportunity to get a lot for a little and maybe even pretend to be a healthy, functioning adult by getting organic fruit.
While eyeing the selection and trying to decide if she actually wanted cherries for whatever reason, she noticed someone staring. Not at her, but at the person beside her, and being rather obvious about it, like he was trying to will the person to look up and notice him. With a chuckle, Teagan’s lack of shame decided to attempt to play Cupid and out the guy. “ Hey –” She quietly said tot he person on her left. “ Don’t look – or do – but you’re totally being checked out by that guy over there.”
Angelica was scrolling through an article on juice recipes looking for something fun to try out (ever since buying a new juicer, making her own juice was the weekly obsession), when someone spoke to her, adverting her attention to the woman besides her instead of her phone. She made no attempt to see who she was talking about. “Well, I don’t blame him. This is a good outfit.” her hand smoothed her dress out despite it being nothing to smooth out. “I got this dress the other day at Zara, I’m not kidding you, forty bucks. A steal if I’ve ever heard one. As for the dude, really not interested. Points for hanging out at farmers markets but my boyfriend would probably be a little shocked if I suddenly showed up with him. We usually talk about those things beforehand, y’know.”

Angelica: Where you want to go?
“Shit, this is forreal.” Kareem was staring at the local paper, announcing him being officially drafted to the Portland Blazers and he was still pretty in shock. “I…I guess everything is about to change. Sorry..I’m just talking out loud here. I’m in shock.”

“Are you kidding me? Baby. You’re a fucking NBA player.” the joy in her voice was undeniable, at this point almost jumping with joy next to him. “You did that. Like, literally, fucking did that and I’m so proud of you.” she’d said it a million times already and would say it another million. She gave his bicep a kiss before picking up the magazine with the hand that wasn’t clutching onto his arm. “It’s a good picture, too. People are gonna be swooning.”
“How early do you think is too early to retire? Because honestly I’m about ready to spend the rest of my days smoking on a rocker on my porch and eat dinner at like..4:30pm.” @pbtags
“I say just go for it. As long as one has the economy to do it and I mean, crap, you’ll have royalties for decades, no? Not to mention people retire at forty-five all the time so no one’ll bat an eye.”
“Paper cuts are such a betrayal,” he started with a kind of scowl both on his face and in his voice, frowning down at the offending folder of paperwork in front of him. Paisley was known to be a tad dramatic, but he would insist the small, practically invisible cut did hurt enough to be pouting over, thank you very much. He didn’t look away from the stack before continuing, making it unclear if he was addressing the still ungraded papers or the person sitting across from him (he wasn’t necessarily doing either, but grading in a cafe did leave him open for conversation, he supposed.) “Something as innocent as a piece of paper shouldn’t sting so much, don’t you think? Thought you were my friend.”
“I am your friend.” she protested, only now looking up from her phone at the man. She was in the process of deciding what picture from her and Kareem’s vacation she was going to post on Instagram and Lord knows it was an important decision so she wasn’t really giving him her full attention hence... she didn’t really know what he was upset about. “A friend who is in the midst of a crucial choice but for you —” she made a scene of putting her phone away. “I’m here. What’s the issue? The papers? Kids are assholes, I know. I don’t know how you do it. You have my admiration.”
The large man sighed as he waited in the long line to get his coffee. He wasn’t having a very good morning. He looked to the person beside him with a sad smile. “Sorry I’m not much company. This morning was the worst, honestly.” He crossed his arms over his chest as he pouted. “My bike chain broke, so I had to take the bus to work, which isn’t terrible, but it put me behind. Today is doughnut day at work and I usually get there early enough for a doughnut, but as I walked in…” He sighed dramatically looking down at the floor. “Gloria grabbed the last doughnut and I know she had one before the last one.” He lifted his head rolling his eyes. Zeke didn’t like too many people, but Gloria seemed to always get under his skin. “So not only is my bike broke. I didn’t even get a doughnut. The worst.”
She couldn’t help the borderline uninterested mm’s leaving her mouth as he was speaking. It wasn’t that she thought Zeke was uninteresting, just his complaining. And people called her dramatic. “You know what,” she reached out to touch his arm. “We’ll get through this. Together. I understand not getting a donut is absolutely crushing, but it’s easily fixed. We can just go to Tim Hortons after this, okay?” as often with Angelica, the sarcasm in her voice was hard to hide but at least she did it with love. “And, I would agree and say Gloria’s a bitch for doing that, but it’s beyond me to hate on fellow females so maybe she was just hungry. Crushing the patriarchy builds you an appetite.”
