â Chapter 2
They say your life flashes before your eyes right before you die. For your granddaughter, Louise, that felt entirely true as she held your frail hands.
"Halmeoni, won't you tell me something else?" Louise pouted slightly. You had spoken of only two things today, and frankly, she was already tired of hearing them.
But you only smiled. The look on your face was soft, almost as if you had traveled back in time to live out the exact moments you had carried in your heart for decades.
"Cherry blossoms," you whispered, your frail fingers reaching slowly for the scarf wrapped carefully around your neck. Louise had never seen you voluntarily remove that red scarf, not even now when it was almost completely worn out. Yet, Louise did not stop you. She watched intently as your fingers brushed against a heart-shaped necklace hidden underneath the wool.
She never even knew you owned that necklace.
"Halmeoni, who gave you that? Taehyung?" Louise asked. She had heard countless stories about your first love, but she didn't think you had ever mentioned anything about a gold necklace.
"Taehyung," you breathed out. You did not elaborate, simply whispering back the very name Louise had just spokenâthe same name you had been repeating all day.
Even on the brink of death, you only ever spoke of two things. One: the passing seasons. Two: Kim Taehyung.
But how could anyone blame you when your life had only ever revolved around Taehyung and the fast-changing seasons of South Korea.
đźËËËâ§SUMMER .â¸â¸â˰
You were nine years old when you first met Taehyung. It was a normal day at Dr. Kim's veterinary clinic, where Taehyung's father was coaxing a feral cat while Taehyung watched from the side. Taehyung never really understood why something so small could be that fierce; all his life, he believed that those who acted strong should be left alone, and that people should instead focus on small, fragile thingsâjust like the little girl who suddenly rushed into their clinic.
It was you.
You were barefoot, your tiny body trembling as tears welled in your eyes. A small puppy clung to your arms, looking just as terrified as the human carrying it.
Taehyung's eyes widened.
"Appa!" Taehyung called for his father, his heart pounding as he rushed toward you, who was just about his height. He asked you what happened, but received no response. You only stretched out your tiny hands, silently begging Taehyung to care for the wounded puppy.
Taehyung wasn't heartless, and neither was Dr. Kim. They immediately took care of both the puppy and you. Through gentle coaxing, Dr. Kim learned what had happened. You and the puppy had been struck by a car, and the driver had sped off before you could even stand.
The thing was, instead of going to a hospital to have your own wounds checked, you had run straight to the vet for the puppy's sake. The dog wasn't even yours, but you had made it your top priority anyway.
"You should look after yourself more!" Taehyung huffed, obviously upset with you for neglecting your own safety.
Your parents arrived and settled the bill with Dr. Kim, but Taehyung wasn't worried about the money. He knew his father wouldn't take advantage of the situation. If anything, Taehyung was simply worried about you. You looked so fragile, and the intense summer heat had instantly tinged your cheeks crimson. Taehyung couldn't stand looking at it.
"Cover your face! Do you want to get burned?" Taehyung pulled you into a corner, shielding you from the sun. He didn't have an umbrella, so he carelessly wrapped a scarf around youâthe very one his mother had knitted for him.
You blinked dumbly at him, still refusing to open your mouth. Taehyung felt a wave of embarrassment, suddenly realizing his own idiocy for throwing a wool scarf over someone in the middle of summer. But what else could he do? It was the only thing he had on him; he had forced his mom to make it so he could use it as a makeshift carrier for small animals at the clinic.
Still, it suited you. Wrapped in the fabric, you looked just like the puppies Taehyung usually played with.
But you were no puppy. You were a real human being who turned out to be the best thing that had ever happened in Taehyung's life. Your encounter at the clinic was the beginning of something beautiful. Your parents recognized that someone like Taehyung would be a good influence on their daughter, so the adults exchanged numbers and set up playdates for the two of you.
Not long after, you became classmates, then friendsâbest of friendsâand eventually, lovers.
Many summers later, you and Taehyung lived together, raising a dog named Summer, and saving lives as firefighters at the Seoul Fire Department. Both of you had earned your spots on the elite rescue team. You were often called "The Orange"ânot just because of your vibrant orange uniforms, but because you quite literally dove into the glowing orange fires during rescue missions.
No one would have thought that a response you tagged as an easy feat would end up in absolute tragedy.
Fire quickly tore through a dense residential area in Seoul. You and the others acted fast, with Taehyung even joking that you shouldn't have bothered coming because this would be an easy run. But you never joked about these things. You joined the rescue effort, your chest tightening as you watched family homes rapidly being gutted by the escalating flames.
You and Taehyung exchanged a look, tacitly understanding that you needed to separate to clear the structures and save as many people as possible. You didn't take the time to kiss, trusting that you would have plenty of chances to do so later.
Taehyung took a left turn, heading straight toward the house where the fire had originated. The rooms were already blacked out with thick smoke, making it nearly impossible to breathe. But Taehyung refused to back down; the soft wails echoing from inside anchored him. He had always held a soft spot for small, helpless things, so he recklessly charged deeper into the burning house.
There, he found two young children trapped in a bedroom, the older child holding a toddler sibling. Finding them still conscious, he quickly assured the terrified siblings that he was there to help. He scooped them up against his chest, shielding them with his own body as he navigated the heat.
Taehyung could see almost nothing through the heavy, toxic smoke, and the poor kids were choking. Pushing through the smog, he managed to get them out of the house. He knew his other comrades were there to intercept the kids. He, on the other hand, couldn't follow them out because right after saving them, he thought he heard another faint cry coming from the back of the houseâa sound that resembled a crying infant.
"Is there anyone else inside?" Taehyung urgently asked the children he had just saved.
The child, sobbing uncontrollably, could only gasp out one word: "Momo.â
Taehyung understood immediately. He nodded reassuringly and plunged back into the inferno. He did his best to follow the sound, successfully locating the source despite the blinding smoke. Taehyung mentally patted himself on the back, believing everything was going to be fine.
Except it wasn't.
It was too late when he realized that the crying soundâthe one the child called Momoâwas only a battery-operated toy doll. Taehyung would have cackled at the cruel irony if he could, but the wooden house had been burning for far too long. He never saw it coming. The compromised structure caved, and the heavy ceiling collapsed directly on top of him, trapping Taehyung in the blazing heat with no way out.
It was a tragedy, really. Even you, who stood at the very top of the ranks, couldn't reach him in time.
The promised kiss was left unfulfilled;
Your heart broke into pieces;
And life lost all its meaning. Once, you had loved the summer. But in an instant, the color orange became darker, heavierâcarrying the weight of the smoke that had stolen Taehyung's breath and, soon after, turned him to ashes.
That summer, you lost your sunshine.

The Seoul Fire Department is a notorious training ground for heroes. To even be considered for a higher rank, one has to serve as a regular firefighter on a Pump team for at least two consecutive years. The rigorous training isn't for the weak; you have to be mentally and physically fit just to survive. Many attempt to climb the ranks, only to end up quitting less than a month after getting in. Only a select few can withstand the merciless demands of Commander Kim Namjoon. As a matter of fact, you were the only recruit to ever receive a perfect grade from the commander himself.
Your discipline was truly admirable. Years ago, your daily workout routine was intense enough to send Kim Seokjin, your fellow colleague, into a coma just from watching. You were relentless when it came to physical conditioning. But that was years ago.
These days, your workouts consumed almost your entire morning. You refused to stop even when your muscles were sore to the core.
At first, Commander Namjoon hadn't minded. You got any job thrown at you done anyway, and besides, you had lost the love of your life. He figured you deserved an outlet, and tearing your muscles apart was certainly better than beating people up to destress.
Captain Min Yoongi, however, didn't think so; not about the violent part, at least. He just knew that you were wallowing. Yoongi had been a firefighter far longer than you, and he had lost his fair share of people too. He knew firsthand that dwelling on a ghost would eventually cause more harm than good.
You needed a distraction.
"Hey! You've been out in the sun for hours. Do you want to get burned?"
That single comment from Hoseok, your teammate, instantly caused you to freeze mid-burpee. You failed to brace for the sudden halt, causing your joints to absorb the force of the impact.
Seokjin screamed.
"Are you okay?" Seokjin rushed toward you, turning to glare fiercely at Hoseok, your other comrade, for startling you. "You dumbass! Look at what you did!"
"Huh?" Hoseok raised his hands in a cluelessly defensive way. "What did I do? I wasn't the one jumping! I just asked her a question." He turned his attention back to you. "What happened to you just now? Are you really that shocked by the idea of getting a sunburn from staying out too long?"
You had been working out since five o'clock in the morning. It was ten o'clock now. Hoseok and Seokjin had to get you before Captain Yoongi noticed that his beloved niece was tiring herself out doing burpees.
Besides, your new rookie was scheduled to start today. Yoongi thought it would be best if the newcomer was placed directly under your care; at the very least, it would keep your mind occupied.
The higher-ups were tired of hearing that you only did two things now: rigorous body workouts and volunteering for the most dangerous missions on the grid. Battalion Chief Choi Soobin had even joked about it during a briefing, "God forbid a woman want to feel something again."
But it wasn't simply like that. Yes, you had gone numb the day Taehyung died, but you weren't inherently reckless. Park Jimin, your and Taehyung's best friend, was aware of the truth. Years ago, you had actually tried to dissuade Taehyung from becoming a firefighter, knowing how unsafe the profession was. But Taehyung was stubborn, so obviously, he hadn't listened. You had known him well enough to realize you had no choice but to follow him into the flames.
You had sworn to protect him.
"Can we please forget about sunburns for a second?" Seokjin took your hand and carefully draped it over his own shoulder. "Hoseok, help me out here. She might have twisted her ankle. She needs to see Jimin."
You shook your head firmly. To you, this was a minor inconvenience, and you didn't want to disturb Jimin. Your medic friend had just gotten off a brutal twenty-four-hour volunteer shift with the EMS heatstroke response unit, treating dozens of citizens collapsing in the suffocating Seoul humidity. He desperately needed rest.
"I'm okay. Let's just head inside. An ice pack will do," you said, testing your weight. Fortunately, you were able to stand on your own.
"Nu-uh. Your rookie starts today," Hoseok chipped in, stepping up to wrap your other arm securely over his shoulder. "It can't be that the first thing you teach him is how to be stubborn when he's hurt. You can't keep living like this. I don't make the rules."
You merely raised a brow. "The rookie starts today?"
You had heard about the new assignment. Admittedly, you had fully intended to refuse the responsibility, but you had abandoned the attempt the moment you realized Captain Yoongi himself had issued the order.
When Soobin had joked about you chasing dangerous missions just to feel something, Jimin had resolutely disagreed. He had swallowed the heavy lump in his throat, speaking out loud his terrifying realization: "Or maybe she's just looking for an excuse to be with Taehyung again."
Jimin's words had affected Yoongi. Sure, the Captain wasn't good at showing his emotions or being vulnerable, but you were his nieceâyour late mother was his sister. He couldn't sit back and watch you lose yourself, especially not under his watch. So, he had devised the plan to make you a mentor, strictly telling Namjoon and Soobin not to let you talk your way out of it.
You were entirely alone in your refusal. You were left with no choice now, a reality Seokjin confirmed.
"Yes, the rookie has been waiting in the briefing room since seven this morning."
You furrowed your brows, a little surprised that the rookie had been waiting for hours now. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
Hoseok and Seokjin exchanged a look. They knew what the Captain expected of them, but sometimes they couldn't help but cave to you. It was too hard seeing you so gloomy.
"Well," Hoseok smiled awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. "We're telling you now. Don't keep him waiting any longer."
You let out a sigh. You grabbed your towel, standing completely straight to prove to Seokjin and Hoseok that you were neither broken nor injured.
You could handle this.

That summer was one of the worst for you. It wasn't quite as crippling as the summer Taehyung died, but it was harrowing all the same. After all, that very season when you were assigned the new rookie also marked your first year without Taehyung by your side.
Frankly speaking, Louise did not like this part of her grandmother's storytelling. How could that summer ever compare to your first meeting with Taehyung? You were practically made for each other; time had simply cheated you both.
Meanwhile, this encounter with the rookie wasn't nearly as romantic as your introduction to Taehyung. If anything, it was just a mundane fragment of your day-to-day, non-operational routine: plain, boring, and if Louise was being completely honest, entirely unnecessary.
That part of the summer story went like this:
Waiting hadn't always been Jeon Jungkook's strongest suit, since most of his childhood was spent with his mother coddling him. Jungkook almost always got what he wanted, but he'd be lying if he said it just happened with a snap of his fingers.
You see, people always confuse "getting what he wants" with "getting it easily." Jungkook might be a tad bit spoiled, but he worked hard. If anything, his loved ones' support was simply a premium added to his life. It was exactly his passion, coupled with their compassion, that drove him forward.
But what was Jungkook's passion?
Today, his passion was wooing you.
Jungkook bounced his legs impatiently as he looked at his wristwatch. It had been hours since he arrived at the fire station. He had already met Seokjin and Hoseok, but they were only his seniors; they weren't his mentor. They weren't you.
Ah. You.
Someone would have to be living under a rock not to know someone as badass as you. You were no superstar, but you were definitely a hero. The universe had been testing South Korea these past five years, throwing one nightmare after another at the country, but thankfully, the Seoul Fire Department was always there to help.
Two years ago, a massive earthquake tore through the eastern coast. It was a devastating blow, especially since neighboring provinces had already been pushed to their limits by countless other disasters.
But you persevered, offering your heart to your country. The news broadcasts tracked you everywhere: pulling survivors from the rubble of the 7.4-magnitude Pohang earthquake, or scaling shattered mountain terrains after the Gangwon-do wildfires. On screen, you looked entirely unstoppable.
Jungkook never realized that he'd see your actions in real life. It happened a year ago. Jungkook worked as an architect in a big company; he wasn't that much of an influence in the firm yet, but it paid well. Jungkook thought he'd climb to the top sooner or later, since he knew his stuff and graduated top of his class.
However, real life didn't work the way Jungkook imagined it. He painstakingly worked to provide a safe building design for one of their clients, but his boss shook him off.
"This is basically free labor, Jungkook." His boss slapped him on the back, as if shaking him back to reality.
Jungkook burst out angrily at the construction site upon finding out that his original blueprint wasn't used. His boss told the engineer a different story, his reasoning being: "We're building an orphanage sponsored by our clients. They just want to look good in the public's eyes."
The message was clear: use substandard materials, and get the extra money for himself. Jungkook could not watch such blatant corruption, so he threw his original blueprint right then and there. He was disgusted by the fact that he was standing on the very soil where corruption and greed were the foundation. It was a bold move for someone who was trying to climb to the top, but he didn't care anymore; the universe agreed with him.
It wasn't like Jungkook wanted it to happen, but the ground started shaking the exact moment he threw his blueprint down. He had learned long ago in school that a weak foundation crumbles; unfortunately, that was exactly what happened to the building his firm was constructing.
Call it karma, because when it struck back, it struck hard. The walls of the building collapsed all at once. Thick smoke and heavy dust filled the air, the loud crumbling of concrete completely overpowering the screams of the workmen.
Jungkook's integrity didn't save him from the wreckage either. He was injured too, though not as severely as his boss.
"Jungkook! Help! Help me!" His boss's agonizing cries for help echoed through the ruined building. Jungkook scowled, straining as he tried to lift a heavy rock that had crushed his boss's legs.
"It hurts! Hurry up!"
Jungkook pursed his lips, desperately wanting to curse the man out. This was entirely his fault. This wouldn't be happening if his boss had just listened to him. But alas, Jungkook needed to save him first. He might dislike his boss, but he wasn't the type of person to abandon someone who was suffering. Why else would he idolize someone like you?
It was a literal life-or-death situation, yet Jungkook's brain still had the nerve to wander back to his crush. Perhaps it was wishful thinking. After all, when something traumatic happened, your brain sometimes tried to escape by thinking about the good stuff. Between his wailing boss and imagining that you had come to rescue them, Jungkook chose the latter. It was the only thing keeping him sane as he tried his best to lift the rock for the nth time.
"I can't do it!" Jungkook screamed back at his boss.
The older man was rattled, completely consumed by pain. Jungkook couldn't lift the debris on his own, and since he wasn't heavily injured, he proposed leaving to call for help. Sadly, his boss refused, gripping Jungkook's hand tightly and threatening to fire him if he took even a single step away.
"I already resigned!" Jungkook gritted his teeth in agony. He really did not want to stay with this lunatic.
"No! Stay here! I don't want to die!" The boss scratched at Jungkook's hand to the point of drawing blood. Jungkook groaned, swatting his boss's hand away and compromising by trying to lift the massive rock again.
Jungkook was utterly defeated. The other man's bossy attitude made him want to completely pass out. He wished you were hereâor any rescue team, really. He didn't care anymore. He just wanted to get this over with.
Perhaps the universe tipped its scales a little more toward Jungkook, because a few agonizing moments later, someone actually appeared through the dust.
It wasn't just anyone.
Jungkook saw your hand before he saw your face. The massive concrete block that Jungkook couldn't even budge suddenly seemed to lift as easily as styrofoam.
And then, he heard your voice. Jungkook could have sworn it was an angelic tone; your media interviews didn't do you justice at all. But then again, Jungkook was already completely whipped for you.
Yes, you had really come to save himâsave them. Jungkook's brain completely cleared out the standard rescue protocols you were reciting. You were probably asking if they were okay, but all Jungkook could do was stare at you dumbly as you effortlessly hoisted his boss up.
"Jungkook! Have you lost your mind? We need to go!" His boss's voice dragged Jungkook back to reality. He watched as the old man's pale face flushed as he clung to you.
"Let's leave him! I need a doctor! I can't feel my legs!"
Jungkook's mouth went agape. He couldn't believe this asshole! He was about to protest when you turned to him. Your face was unreadable, but Jungkook could hear a tint of concern in your tone, even if it was completely businesslike.
No one could blame you for acting like this. You had seen all kinds of victims: some were calm, others were hysterical and borderline selfish. Nothing fazed you anymore; you were trained to keep your composure, which was why you simply asked Jungkook if he could stand.
"Yes, Mam!"
One could cringe at how enthusiastic he sounded. Jungkook's legs were a bit wobbly, but he stood up almost excitedly, closing the distance between you two until he was standing right beside you.
Your expression didn't change at all. You simply nodded and started walking, effortlessly carrying a seventy-kilogram, cranky old man. Jungkook didn't say anything else either, opting to follow you, actively trying to keep up with your pace until you two finally got out of the rubble.
That was the first time Jungkook came face-to-face with you, as rescuer and survivor.
The second time, Jungkook was still the first one waiting for you to arrive. Only this time, your presence was much more anticipated.
And this time, he was here to be under your wing.
Jungkook had already been anxiously anticipating your arrival, but his heart hammered against his ribs when the door finally swung open, revealing the exact person he had been waiting to see.
He stood up almost instantly, nearly embarrassing himself by reflexively preparing to salute with the "offer your heart" sign. It was a classic gesture implemented by the Seoul Fire Department: balling one's hand into a fist and smacking it firmly against the chest, used either to greet comrades or as a vow before diving into a mission.
Catching himself at the last second, Jungkook suddenly became hyper-aware of how stiff he looked and opted to offer a handshake instead.
"Good morningâ" Jungkook trailed off, the words dying in his throat the moment he came face-to-face with you.
You clearly hadn't had much time to prepare, knowing you had already kept him waiting for hours. You had rushed through a ten-minute shower and carelessly thrown on the department's official station jacket. But your casual appearance wasn't what caught Jungkook completely off guard. In truth, your beauty was unparalleledâthat was already a given. It was just that...
"You cut your hair," Jungkook blurted out before his brain could process the words. His hand remained awkwardly suspended mid-air.
He wasn't the only one caught off guard by the comment. You froze, your fingers instinctively reaching up to touch the freshly cropped edges of your new pixie cut.
"Yeah, she did!" Seokjin chipped in from behind.
Jungkook blinked, turning to look at Seokjin, completely unaware until that exact second that he and Hoseok had walked into the room right alongside you. He had been so utterly starstruck that he had quite literally forgotten his surroundings.
Unfortunately, his brain still hadn't regained control over his mouth. Before he could stop himself, he let out another careless remark: "But your long hair was beautiful."
The version of you he watched on TV had long hair, so it was a surprise to see you sporting a pixie cut. Truthfully, you had only recently cut your hair, and on a whim at that.
It had been Jimin's idea. You had commemorated Taehyung's first death anniversary just yesterday. Jimin hadn't had a haircut since Taehyung died. He had learned that one of the ways to move forward was to cut your hair, since it was believed that hair holds onto past memories. You had been adamant not to do it when you first heard the myth. How could you ever want to forget your memories of Taehyung?
But Jimin had insisted, telling you that you should keep Taehyung in your hearts instead, lest he become a gwisin or a lingering spirit unable to rest because of a loved one's inability to let go. That was what ultimately broke your resolve, afraid that you might disrupt Taehyung's next journey.
It wasn't easy, though. You were not many things, but you loved your hair. The same long hair your mother used to braid when you were little, and now, this new rookie had just casually commented on it.
You did not know what to say.
Jungkook didn't seem to understand the weight of his tactless statement, but Seokjin and Hoseok did. They often called each other idiots, but they were incredibly sensitive when it came to their friend's feelings.
And so Hoseok laughed it off, noticing that you still refused to take Jungkook's hand, which was left suspended mid-air.
"It's easier to have shorter hair when you're out on a mission!" Hoseok hooked his arm around Jungkook's shoulder, hoping he'd instinctively lower his hand. But Jungkook didn't.
Seokjin agreed and laughed too. "Yes! That's why Hoseok is bald!" Then, seeing that Hoseok's subtle hint hadn't worked, he casually reached out and pulled Jungkook's hand down himself.
But this meeting was set to be an embarrassment from the very beginning. With Seokjin forcefully pulling Jungkook's hand down and Hoseok's arm anchored over his shoulder, Jungkook almost lost his balance entirely. A sudden rustling sound broke the tension, like a paper bag crumpling. That's when Hoseok realized that Jungkook was holding something behind his back.
"What are you hiding there, Jungkook-ah?" Hoseok creased his forehead, his curiosity instantly morphing into a mischievous grin. Was the new boy planning something?
Jungkook, snapping out of his daze as he remembered the gift in his hand. He had planned to give it to you right after you accepted his handshake, but since things hadn't gone according to script, he was forced to break free from Hoseok and Seokjin's hold. He bowed deeply before you, offering the gift to you.
"Sunbaenim, I've brought you a giftâ"
Jungkook was cut off mid-sentence as Seokjin and Hoseok gasped, pretending to be deeply offended that you were receiving a gift when they were his seniors too.
"And what could you have possibly given her that doesn't include us?" Hoseok huffed.
"You've got favoritism, rookie!" Seokjin whined.
Seokjin snatched the paper bag while Hoseok helped yank the item out of the wrapping. Seokjin was praying it was food; Hoseok was hoping it was some high-end utility tool or field gear.
But neither of them was correct. It was the exact opposite of what they expected, and frankly, the most painfully awkward thing you could have ever received in your entire life.
Hoseok and Seokjin froze, completely losing their words upon seeing Jungkook's gift.
It was a red scarf...
Suspiciously similar to the one you already owned.
The same red scarf you had worn almost your entire life.
The same red scarf Taehyung had given you.
But Jungkook did not know anything about your red scarf. You see, everything he knew about his crush was based on what he had seen on television; he was completely clueless that he had just stepped squarely on a landmine of grief, love, and sorrow. In fact, the corner of Jungkook's mouth quirked up, looking proud of his gift, though a tinge of red colored his cheeks.
"I've noticed your red scarf is a little worn out, so I bought you a new one. A welcome gift, if you will, Sunbaenim." Jungkook looked at you as he shyly gestured toward the red scarf still in Seokjin and Hoseok's hands.
Your expression remained impassive, but Jungkook failed to notice your palms balling into fists. You opened your mouth slightly, but ended up pursing your lips again.
You made no move to accept his gift. Thankfully, Hoseok and Seokjin saved the day again. Hoseok was the first to move; he pulled the scarf back, tucked it into the paper bag, and tossed it onto the couch. He then cleared his throat and wrapped his arm around Jungkook's shoulder again.
"You know what? I think we're done with introductions for now. You haven't seen the station yet, have you, Jungkook-ah?"
"Huh?" Jungkook furrowed his brow. A sense of grievance colored his heart. He had a feeling his two seniors kept sabotaging his time with you.
What the hell? Jungkook thought, about to protest, but Seokjin chuckled. "Yes! Let's go. You'll love the fire trucks." It did not matter that they were treating Jungkook like a childâhe was acting like one, anyway. And so, the two seniors dragged Jungkook out of the office, leaving him no chance to say goodbye to you.
You remained rooted to the spot. You looked at the red scarf on the couch with bloodshot eyes, your thoughts hidden behind the mist covering your heart and mind.
Then, you took a sharp breath before turning away.
And just like that, your and Jungkook's first meeting ended right then and there. It had been a long time of anticipation for Jungkook, but it ended with no words elicited from his crush.
That summer was brutal for you, feeling like a shadow was fast approaching to cover any lingering memories you had for the love of your life.

Iâm back with a new fic! This is originally a Jean x Mikasa fic, but as usual, I am converting it to a Jungkook AU to reach more audience, so if you notice, the characters are similar to AOT characters. Based on my estimate, this will have 5 chapters in total. Iâve more days to write since itâs our semestral break in law school.
Please let me know your thoughts! I miss you all!
