âIâm just a little nervous âcause this is responsibility,â he said, widening his eyes in mock fear. âBut Iâm not gonna bail on this now, I swear onâŠâ Micah looked around, trying to find an appropriate object to swear on, âWell, this probably isnât the best oath, but I swear on the remote.â He chuckled, already glancing at his phone, waiting for his momâs answer. But thankfully Ange agreed to his dinner suggestion, giving him a wonderful distraction: thinking about food. He did so for a moment, though he fell just a bit short: âHonestly all I can think right now is that I really want a cheesecake, but thatâs probably not the ideal entrĂ©eâŠâ
She rolled her eyes at his fake surprise, and gave his shoulder a shove. She wouldnât say that she knew Micah well, but she was getting to know him better and was feeling more comfortable around him. âCheesecake?â she said skeptically, raising an eyebrow. âNo, thatâs definitely not the most ideal entree. What about Betteâs? Thatâs close, and I havenât been yet. And if you still want cheesecake after that we can figure it out.â
