Hi everyone! I’m honestly super scared to make this post but I’m very quickly running out of options so here goes.
As probably some of you know I’m technically a college student but I haven’t been able to afford college for a year because my father refuses to help me pay for it. I’m also currently unemployed but looking for a job. My first and third jobs were only seasonal and my second job was at a grocery store with an abusive manager who fucked up my depression and eating disorder even worse so looking for jobs now is super anxiety inducing for me.
My father is once again threatening to kick me out, just because I don’t have a job yet and I haven’t been in school (which is really his fault). I also have to pay for my own anti-depressants and phone bill each month which comes to about $105 (my meds aren’t cheap). Without a job AND trying to afford school, it’s basically school or my meds, which is a choice he’s told me to make. And when I make the choice for my medicine he gets mad at me. I also had to pay for my own laptop when my old one’s screen broke, which set me back about $400.
I unfortunately live in an abusive home environment. He used to be physically abusive, but he remains verbally and emotionally, making my depression and eating disorder worse. He tells me to get a job “anywhere” yet yells at me if I tell him where I’ve applied. The problem is that I can’t work with food at all, whether at a grocery store or a restaurant, simply because it won’t be good for my mental health.
I’m really scared at this point and I don’t know what to do. He keeps telling me that “why can’t my friends help” despite the fact that he’s just shirking his duties as a parent, so I have to do this and ask for your help. I really need to be able to afford college because that’s also where my therapist is. For me to even afford one class though, it’s going to cost me $1650 which is due by the end of August. If all of my followers even donated one dollar I would be only about $300 short with my current funds.
