he blinked dumbly at the large man, taken quite off guard by his stance alone. this guy was the hired help? what a surreal place. shrugging out of his jacket awkwardly, he tried his best not to behave like he was experiencing something too strange. that would be rude. he took a seat on a rather ornate looking chair. “i suppose you could think that. i mean, a lot of people are concerned about sun poisoning…”

            morticia doesn’t really      notice      his discomfort,        moving about the room to make sure she had her bearings before seating herself across from the young man.      lurch was idly hanging up the jacket,       which causes the woman to relax some as she settles.          “ as they should be. ”          she spoke,        as if scolding  ANYONE        who allowed their kids to play out in the sun too long.           “ the sun is very damaging,     you know. ”       a pause,     a       maternal     tone in her silky voice that implied genuine caring.               “ so,   do you live in this neighbourhood,  ryan  ? ”         by neighbourhood,        she means the houses residing within the few surrounding blocks.      “ i don’t think i’ve seen you around before. ”

“I do and don’t get me wrong, I love her, but you look like you’d make a cool mom figure too.” It was mostly a joke really.

            now this wasn’t the        first time       morticia had heard this,         &         it always seemed just as flattering !          “ thank  you ! ”          how could she say no to that  ?          a hand poises upon her hip,    shoulders lingering in a heavy shrug.           “ well my door is always open to you. ”
