#WineWednesday Tip Wine Tip #84 – How to tell if a wine is “off.” Even though some wines are capable of lasting for decades in the bottle, occasionally something goes wrong. After all, wine is an agricultural product, and things can happen. If the wine has an unpleasant smell after the bottle is opened, or if it smells like vinegar, you don’t want to drink it. On rare occasions, the cork can impart flavors and/or aromas of wet cardboard or newspapers. This is what we call “corked” wine, and it should not be consumed.
Fortunately, Direct Cellars will quickly replace any bottle you receive that is not up to our standards. We are sure that this Roza Ridge Rattlesnake Hills Cabernet Sauvignon will definitely be up to your standards!
