these poems are our stories
observations and over-hears eavesdrops and heart-to-hearts cried yourself to sleeps sang it in the showers strangers on a train arguing lovers in back rows of planes children on school buses giggling hands clasped together in church sitting wide-legged on stoops long walks for miles on city blocks quiet moments in bed in the morning disappointments you already knew were coming unexpected joys girlfriends clinking glasses at their favorite cafe or whispering and snickering in groups babies bouncing from knee to knee mourning the loss of a friend that peculiar phone call that skips your heartbeat that wondering what do they want
my poems are all these things and a million more a telling a remembering
of all my stories and yours
