I wanna dabble more into horror this time, and I’m gonna challenge myself to commit to this cause I want it to be a four or five part series, depending on how the story goes. Anyways hope you enjoy this first part, it’s long I’m not even gonna lie to you but I appreciate you reading anyways😭🩷🩷
Night 1:
“BREAKING NEWS!!!
Authorities implore citizens to keep away from the streets of Georgia and ensure that they are safely secured in their homes as we approach month end. This follows a strange surge of attacks by an unfamiliar creature that specialists refer to as “Diamones Lupum” or commonly known as The Wolf of Aurbun.
It has been roughly 3 months since the predator commenced its killing spree dating back to October 30th, when the first victim, a 25 year old college student was found unresponsive after being mauled by the beast, leaving him with a laceration across his back, bite marks on his neck and his abdominal organs devoured. Since then, over 20 victims have lost their lives in familiar patterns with wounds in similar positions.
Witnesses have described the creature to be of immense size and stature, with its paw size estimated to be 14-15 centimeters in length and 10-12 centimeters in width, significantly greater than the Gray Wolf’s paw size which is the largest wolf species coded to date. The fur is a deep black color with a gray line trailing from its head down to its tail, and dark green eyes.
Forensic Specialists indicate that the possible length of its teeth reaches up to 7cm, judging from the deep bite marks of its victims. Its suspected technique is to pounce from behind its prey and use its claws to cause a wound and pin it down, before suffocates them with a bite.
Efforts have been made to track down the wolf using Thermal Imaging and keeping a keen eye on camera footage during the late hours. Apart from its consistent prowling towards midnight, it has no identified hunting patterns, aside from all its victims being from Georgia State University. More information will be communicated as investigations progress.
Stay Safe and Stay Tuned.”

The news reporters voice echoed in the background as the hustle and bustle of the diner continued. The clashing of cutlery mixed with the loud cackles and chatters of customers, was enough to soothe one’s soul of whatever worries troubled them for the time being, even if it was a bloodthirsty hound that was rampaging on the streets.
Cameron leaned back in his seat with a groan, right hand behind his head while his laughter merged with the rest of the group. Jasmine sat next to him, hookah in one hand, phone in another. Drew sat opposite with one arm draped over Bianca as she leaned on his chest, while Trey leaned on the other side, a bottle of beer in one hand and a lighter in another as he casually flicked the flame like a toy.
“God, I feel so bad for their families,” Jasmine muttered with sympathy, in response to the news. “Imagine your son dying like that, I don’t think I’d survive it.”
“Yeah…” Cameron agreed, eyes glued on to the screen of his phone, hardly focused on the conversation.
“It’s crazy to think we got a whole werewolf out in town,” Bianca huffed out.
“How you know it’s a werewolf?” Drew questioned
“C’mon…really Drew?” She insisted dropping the pipe. “Think about it, the animal eats people, is larger than a normal wolf and is only heard of towards the end of the months…why you think that?”
The groups shared glances, completely clueless. Bianca sighed with frustration.
“Cause those are the nights of the full moon!” She remarked, as if it was basic math. “It only comes out when there is a full moon. If that ain’t werewolf, I don’t know what is.”
“You watching Twilight again?” Jasmine teased, earning a laugh from the group. “You can’t possibly think that there is someone out there who can transform into a wolf and goes out eating people.”
“Well you got a better idea?”
“Hell Yeah…I think it’s the government.” Jasmine hypothesized. Trey rolled his eyes with a groan.
“Here you go, on your bullshit,” he grumbled but Jasmine wasn’t bothered.
“I suspect the government is conducting an experiment, and using this highly magnified wolf as a test on society.” She suspected
“What kind of test?” Bianca asked. Jasmine paused, taking a sip off her milkshake.
“I don’t know, but it’s awfully suspicious how the victims are similar.” She pointed out
"Wouldn't it be smarter to do it on people who…I don't know, are less easy to notice are missing?,” Bianca questioned as she took a puff from the hookah.
“Man I just hope whatever the fuck that is don’t come around me tonight,” Drew remarked “imma fuck it up if it even try, probably why its furry ass ain’t come my way so far. Knows I can take it with my own two fists”
“Boy Bye,” Jasmine dismissed with an eye-roll. They all laughed, Cameron’s low chuckle rumbling in his chest as he stared at his screen before the chime of the doorbell alerted him. His head turned, eyes landing on Zahara as she entered the diner. Her black zip up barely hung over her shoulders, with a matching tank top beneath and a pair of grey sweats and muddy converses. Her braids, were tied back haphazardly, into a bun that seemed like it could fall at any given second. Her body was frail, as if something was eating at her from the inside out, hollowed sunken cheeks, and her gaze low and tired as she navigated her way to the counter.
“Damn…” Trey muttered, following Cameron’s gaze. “She still alive?”
Jasmine swatted his shoulder “Have some sympathy, Trey,” she hissed “If I lost my dad like that, I’d never wanna come out again. We don’t know what she’s going through.”
“Yeah but it’s been 3 months, Jasmine,” Bianca chimed in
“Grief doesn’t have a time limit,” Jasmine countered firmly, her eyes landing on Cameron, whose gaze hadn’t shifted since Zahara came. He watched as she leaned on the counter, fingers nervously tapping on the surface while she gave her order, eyes darting frantically with paranoia. He felt his heart constrict in his chest, his jaw a little tighter.
“Probably hurts now more than ever,” Jasmine sighed “I hope they take that wolf down soon.”
“Yeah…me too,” Cameron mumbled, barely audible as he continued to stare. As if she could feel his gaze burning at the back of her neck, Zahara turned, her gaze falling on him. He could see the exhaustion beneath, the deep rings under her eyes, her lids drooped over them as if they carried their own weight. And despite it all, her eyes always had a beauty he couldn’t describe. The amber brown color of her iris was remarkable, and beneath its edges of her pupils shimmered a lighter golden hue. It was gorgeous, eerily captivating, he felt like a deer caught by headlights every time he stared, trapped, spellbound.
But she looked away, head snapping back to the front with shame as she lifted the hood of her jacket over her head. Every bone in Cameron’s body itched and twitched to reach out, say something, but what could he say? To make her forget, to relieve herself from the weight of the loss, from the prison of her own isolation?
When the waitress handed over her order, she took it swiftly before leaving the restaurant without a breath of hesitation, leaving Cameron with a pit in his chest that he couldn’t describe, nor could he ignore. He sighed as he leaned back into the seat, eyes drifting out the window to the busy street as everyone scurried to return home. The stream of clouds slipped away, allowing the swole of the full moon to illuminate as her light casted down on the lurking shadows, as if tracing the steps of the city’s monsters.
~
Cameron could hardly recall the events of the night. From the meetup at the diner, to heading back to campus to meet up with some other friends. One shot turned to two and two turned to five and suddenly things weren’t clear anymore. Between bursts of blurred flashes, he transitioned from laughing on a bed, to barely holding himself up as someone drove the truck down the hill road.
The world started to tilt over, the boys hearty laughter muffled in his ears as Drew steered recklessly. The Moon’s light cast down on the road as it sat idly above the silhouette of the hills, thin strings of clouds drifted aimlessly like restless souls. The wind howled with warning, deers in the distance sensed a threat and retreated to the safety of their dens, owls perched on the trees and watched with large keen eyes, as they hooted low in anticipation of something foreboding. But Cameron and his crew, stayed ignorant, enclosed in their blissful recklessness as the truck drifted down the lane, leaning too close to the barrier, just inches away from tipping over the hill before slipping back into the safety of the road.
The music blasted, Jasmine and Bianca’s voices melted into the background as they sang along. Cameron’s head rolled from side to side, his eyes hardly able to remain open. Trey was on his 9th bottle of beer as he chugged it down, most of the contents streaming down his chin, before shoving the empty bottle to Cameron’s side.
“Yo, Cam” He slurred, his heavy body pressed against Cameron’s side as he struggled to keep himself up. “Pass me another,”
“Nigga, ain’t you on your twelfth?” Jasmine questioned squinting her eyes at him, noticing how Trey’s pupils could hardly remain in place.
“Nigga, you sound like my mom,” Trey slurred in response
“Gimme- Gimme another…m’still good,”
Cameron scoffed as he shook his head. “Nah chill, you gotta slow down…we ain’t even made it to the function yet-“
“Man, ffffuck the function!” He spat, swinging his hands before collapsing on the door. He threw his head outside, the wind slamming against his face. Bianca gasped in the passenger seat, turning back to reach for Trey.
“Ayo Trey!” Drew yelled “Getcho head back in the car!”
Cameron leaned in, yanking Trey’s shirt as he dragged him back inside, his lazy laugh aggravating Jasmine
“How many bottles did he down?” Jas asked
“Man, I don’t know,” Cameron groaned, his own head spinning. “He pregamed.”
“I know that I was there!” She yelled back.
“Then you tell me how many bottles he took.” Cam retorted.
“Rela…I only took like five…I swear m’good Jazz,” Trey slurred as he leaned forward, reaching out for another six pack.
“Uh uh, that’s enough,” Jasmine declared swatting his hand away. “We haven’t even made it to the party yet!”
“Gimme the damn drink Jasmine!” Trey groaned, but she wouldn’t have it as she pulled the pack away from his reach. “See this is why no one likes you, you can’t have no fun!”’
Bianca’s head snapped “Trey, nah-“
“Nah lemme fucking speak, B!” He cut in before reverting his attention back to Jasmine, his eyelids low and heavy, but his burrowed brows were enough to show that he was aggravated.
“You always tryna act like you a saint,” he accused. “Tryna pretend like- like you fucking care about everything, and you all innocent.”
Jasmine scoffed with indignation. “Oh you tryna go there?”
“Yeah I’m tryna go there!” He retorted “you been getting on my nerves the whole night, wit yo fake ass worrying. About my drinking…about that fucking wolf, and about Zara…”
“It’s Zahara-“
“Whatever that bitch name is!” He spat “You and her ain’t even friends no more why the fuck you care?”
“Cause I’m concerned? Like a normal fucking human being who sympathizes with her?” Jasmine hissed back, her own frustration seeping through. “She been going through a lot, I have to care-“
“You weren’t caring when you left her on the bridge!” He spat out, the sentence the most sober he ever sounded that night. The air went cold, Jasmine’s body tensed.
Cameron, who was at the center of it all, lifted his head upright with furrowed brows, confused as he turned to Jasmine, whose face paled like she had seen a ghost.
“Yo what?” He asked, barely audible turning to Jasmine. “Jas, what he mean?”
“Don’t bring that up-“
“Oh….ohhh…” Trey laughed mockingly, bitterly, like it was a twisted joke. “You didn’t tell them did you?”
“Yo, what’s he talking about?” Cameron asked, his eyes darting to everyone in the car. Bianca and Drew kept their gazes glued to the front, but Cam could see Drew’s guilty eyes through the mirror.
“Trey, chill out man,” Drew implored, but it fell on deaf ears.
“You been acting like you’re noble and shit…when really, you the worst out of all of us,” he accused, each syllable drown out, like a dagger slowly digging, piercing its way down her core. Her teeth gritted, her chest began to heave with prominence, her acrylic nails dug into the seat of the car.
“Shut up Trey,” she gritted, her glare lazer focused on him and he stared back, not ceasing his attacks.
“You were there,” Trey called out, his mouth stretched to grin that was borderline sadistic. “And you had an opportunity to help her. You saw her, and could’ve…but you didn’t did you?” He interrogated, his head cocking to the side.
“You left her there.”
“No I didn’t-“
“You saw her bleeding out and you walked away.”
“What the fuck is he talking about?” Cameron’s voice echoed as he tried to intervene.
“You walked out…cause you wanted the same thing.” Trey pushed, his face inches away from Jasmines, his breath wreaked of beer and accusation.
“You wanted her to die.”
The final sentence was a finger on the trigger. In the split of a second Jasmine lunged forward with a shriek, her claws heading to Trey’s face as they tussled. Trey could hardly fight back, his sluggish limbs swinging with no aim. Cameron yelled in the middle, caught in the cross fire as he reached for Jasmine in an attempt to pull her away.
“Jaz! Calm down!” Drew yelled from the front, exchanging his attention with the road and the altercation happening at the back.
Cameron heaved as he pulled Jasmine off of Trey while she writhed relentlessly, her legs shoving and kicking where her arms failed. Trey grabbed one of her feet, disarming it.
“BITCH YOU ARE CRAZY!” Trey yelled as he struggled to contain her foot as the other pounded his shoulder and the door. Her body slammed against Cameron’s, shoving the side of the car and forcing it to tilt.
“Yo! Quit it!” Cameron warned Jasmine but she was seething, unwilling to calm down.
“Cam, hold her down!” Drew demanded
“What the fuck does it look like I’m doing?” Cam retorted.
Drew reached out from the front of Jasmine, desperately trying to handle the situation as his single hand struggled to steer the car along the road, the headlights swaying with it. With everyone’s attention occupied, nobody noticed the deer that leaped from the left side of the hills on to the road. Bianca gasped, pulling Drew’s attention.
“LOOKOUT!” She yelled. Drew’s head snapped. The deer froze, its doe eyes caught in the headlights. Drew spun the steering wheel to the right in one brisk swing. The truck drifted off its lane, avoiding the deer, but losing control as it skidded down the road while Drew desperately tried to pull it back to no avail. The force of the swing caused the truck to collide with the barrier, tipping over before tumbling down the hill.
Cameron watched in horror as the truck keeled over, the collision forcing his head to clash with the window, the air punched out of his lungs. Everything slowed down, if not for a moment. Everyone was lifted off their seats, empty bottles and caps caught in the air. Through the window, the moonlight pooled inside, its large illuminating energy caught Cameron’s gaze, and as he stared back it fell like the world stilled, before the loud burst of the crash hauled him back.
The truck tumbled, the bottles crashing into different corners of the vehicle and the glass shattered to small crystals. Cameron gripped Jasmine tight to his chest while Trey held on to the head of the driver’s seat. The truck continued to spin, it’s form losing more shape with every clash to the ground until it finally slammed against a giant boulder, forcing Cameron’s head to slam forward, and everything went black.
~
Cameron’s eyelids managed to slowly lift open as he regained consciousness. The piercing sting of the cuts by the corner of his eyes, coupled with the crippling soreness of his entire body from the force of the crash and the sluggish effects of the alcohol, left him disoriented. He groaned, regaining sense in his arms as he slowly lifted his hand to carefully wipe the remaining pieces of glass on his face, and the blood that trickled down from the opened stitch on the side of his head with a hiss. The ringing in his ears died down, as the agitating sound of the car alarm drew in, mixed with the soft groans of the others. His heart thundering in his chest.
Cameron quickly assessed the situation, his eyes darting around the truck. It had been flipped upside down, its left side crumpled against a large boulder. Jasmine’s weight was pressed on his chest, drawing his attention. An incision was formed on the right of her temple, a streak of blood traced down her face, but her chest still rose and fell with life. Drew and Bianca’s heads were stuffed in the airbags in front. Cameron’s gaze shifted to the right, finding Trey's limp body on laying on the ceiling, arms and legs sprawled, his mouth ajar. His head had bashed against the window, the crimson red colour painted over the centred crack of the blow. His left leg had snapped from the joint, the fracture of the bone punctured out of his skin with gore. Cameron could hardly hold down the nausea at the sight.
He regained his voice, albeit hoarse and pained.
“G-guys,” he coughed out, gently shaking Jasmine back to consciousness. “Is- is everyone okay?”
He could hardly hear himself speak, his coarse voice a frail whisper compared to the wailing alarm. Every word he managed to muster scraped his throat like barbed wire. He shuffled his weight, in an attempt to shift away from Jasmine without causing further damage.
He reached down to unbuckle his seat belt, his thumb pressing down on the button but to no avail, it was stuck, and he couldn't be freed. He cursed before grabbing a hold of the head of Bianca’s seat, his other hand on the handle on the ceiling, conjuring the little strength he had to pull his legs free before he felt Jasmines body jolt as she heaved in a breath of air, her eyelids snapping open. With labouring breaths and wheezing coughs, she came to.
“Jas!” Cameron called out with urgency as he shifted his attention to her. “Jas you good?”
She panted, her eyes darting around with panic before landing on Trey's body and she shrieked. “Oh god, Oh god is he alive?” She panicked with terror at the sight.
“Hey, Hey! Calm down" Cameron soothed, forcing his own uneven breath to steady. “Let’s get outta here first, then we help them, aight?”
Jasmine nodded frantically, though her breathing was still panicked and anxious, her fingers jittery as she fumbled with her seatbelt. When Cameron managed to pull free enough from the grip of his seat belt, he reached out for the door handle, thrashing it, desperately trying to open it but to no avail, the boulder blocking their escape. He hissed out a curse as he banged his fist on the door.
“It won’t budge,” he groaned, turning to the front seat Where Drew's body lay forward. He reached for his shoulder, nudging and shaking it, desperate for a sign of life.
"Drew!" he huffed, "C'mon Drew wake up!"
Jasmine groaned softly as she pressed her trembling fingers on the cut of her temple, wincing in pain. She felt dazed, the blood pooling in her head and the agitating screech of the alarm didn't help the pounding. Her line of sight drifted back to Trey, his body still down on the ceiling, head by the corner of the door. She narrowed her eyes, peering through the sanguine shaded window, towards the dark of the woods, when she caught something. in a split of a second, something large flashed across bark of the trees, quick but not unnoticed. Her breath hitched, eyes widening.
"Cam?" She whimpered, reaching out to tug his shirt and draw his attention, but he was glued on Drew, his worry peaked from his unresponsive state, his nudging more aggressive and urgent.
"Drew!" He croaked out "C'mon bro!"
The alarm suddenly ceased, and the quiet of the night seeped in. The crickets chirped loudly, in harmony with the haunting whispers of the breeze. Jasmine's ears perked up when she heard something rustling against the fallen leaves, her heart pounding in her ears as she wheezed for short breaths of air. When the curtain of clouds draped open to allow the moonlight to cast over the scene, her eyes dared to follow where it spilt, finding the shadow of large canine figure sat in the distance, before it leisurely slipped away from view. Her whimpers were frantic, mixed with sobs as she desperately clung to Cameron's shirt while he yelled out for Drew.
"Cameron, shut the fuck up!" She croaked, yanking him back into his seat.
“What!” He squawked, head snapping to Jasmine, eyes bloodshot red, burning with unshed tears. She didn’t bother to explain, pressing her palm against his lips to shut him up. He stared at her, infuriated and bewildered before a low rumble of a growl echoed just outside the truck. Cameron paused, his attention momentarily away from his brother as he looked around, trying to pick up the direction of the primal sound.
They heard it again, this time more ferocious, the threatening snarl louder than the last. The noise travelled in a circle, heard at all corners, as if it was prowling around the truck, stalking them, but they couldn’t even see it. Jasmine could hardly hold herself together as she sobbed quietly, the ominous noise drawing nearer and nearer, growing louder with a vehement hunger…until it stopped.
Jasmine slowly dropped her hand from Cam’s mouth, their sharp uneven breaths filling the silence as they listened for any signs of the animal’s presence. After what felt like a good amount of time, Cameron whispered.
“I think it’s gone,”
Jasmine allowed a sigh of relief to escape her mouth, her locked body relaxing for a brief moment before her eyes landed on Trey who was regaining consciousness. A groan dragged out of his mouth as he lifted his hand to his head, his eyelids hardly able to lift off his eyes.
“Fuuuck,” he slurred, head bobbing off his neck as if it were detached. “My head, yo what the fu- AAHHH!” He howled in pain, his head snapping down to his broken leg. “S-shit!” He cursed out, his clammy hand hovering over the exposed bone. The phantom touch of his fingers enough to burn and earn another cry of agony as he wailed.
Cameron and Jasmine both panicked, desperately trying to hush him but Trey could hardly listen, far too engrossed in the pain.
“Fuck man!” He croaked “My…my fucking leg!”
“Trey shut the hell up!” Jasmine pleaded harshly
“Fuck you mean shut up!?” He spat back “My fucking leg is broken cause of you!” He boomed, his broken voice reverberated against the walls of the car, unable to not draw attention.
“I knew you were a crazy bitch, but doing this? Nah you’re a psychopath!” He spewed as he tried to get a hold of his leg. “Soon as I get outta here, I’m calling the police!”
“Trey, Calm down…” Cameron urged quietly, his desperation evident. “Don’t move,”
But the second Trey’s leg lifted off the ground slightly, he released another wail of pain.
“Jesus Fucking Chri-“
His words were hushed by the alarming sound of the window glass breaking as something smashed through it with a brutal force, jerking the entire truck. A loud snarl roared as the snout of the wolf barged through, its mouth agape, exposing its uncannily large yellowish canines painted with red, sharp and piercing. Jasmine and Cameron shrieked at the sight, crawling to the other corner of the truck to create some distance, leaving Trey vulnerable and terrified as he screeched.
The wolf thrashed against the door, interchanging between its mouth and jagged claws as it reached inside, in pursuit of Trey’s frail body. He tried desperately to shuffle away but his leg burdened him, unable to keep him from moving far while he pleaded for help. His cries intensified when the wolf managed to chomp down on his shoulder with a sneer, his eyes widening in horror as its teeth pierced deep into the bone, locking its grip. He released a blood curdling cry, feeling the wolf tug harshly, wrenching him out of the broken window savagely. His skin caught against the shards, the flesh tore of his back with the fabric of his shirt. He shrieked and cried for help, but Jasmine and Cameron were paralyzed, with her face hidden in Cameron’s chest as she bawled against him, her body heaving and trembling as she sobbed, while Cameron’s eyes were wide and glued, unable to pull away, his face paled with dread as he watched the wolf pull Trey’s helpless body out of his position and through the window, bursting through what little had remained of it. The flesh of the broken leg hooked against a large dagger and he released a shrilled cry, before the wolf lurched him free with a gruesome tug, leaving the piece of meat behind while Trey’s body was dragged away, leaving a trail of his blood.
His cries faded into the distance, blending with the wolf’s ravenous growls. His sobs metamorphosed, becoming pained chokes, the sickening sounds of wet flesh ripping, bones crushing and grinding, echoed in Cameron’s mind, engraved in his brain, haunting his ears long after they ceased.
When Trey’s excruciating noises stopped, Cameron could hear the low vibrations of its growl drawing nearer as it stalked back to the truck. His eyes still fixed in place, his limbs losing all function. The beast crept closer, and lowered its head, just enough to reveal its sinister snarl. Its fur was as dark as the night, its snout drenched in the crimson color of Trey’s blood. Its line of dentures almost seemed too big for its mouth, yellow bared and ragged, its canines gigantic, strong enough to pierce through the toughest skin, and rip human flesh right off the bone like chicken. But what really had him immobilized, was its penetrating gaze. The golden flare of its iris shimmered in the moonlight, pure unabashed hunger and drive. It was eerily beguiling, he couldn’t pull away and it sauntered closer.
Until gunshots spewed from above, firing at the beast as the bullets darted astray, hitting the truck in the process and damaging whatever wasn’t already dismantled from the crash. The wolf immediately reacted, leaping away and retreating back into the woods, while Cameron ducked low for cover, landing on the ceiling as he guarded Jasmine’s body with his own until the gunfire dissipated.
His ears were ringing, his vision tunneled, body thrumming with adrenaline. He could see the flashes of red and blue outside the truck, meaning help had arrived. He should’ve been relieved, knowing they’d be saved and the nightmare would be over. But when he turned his head to the side, and in the distance he saw Trey, laid on his back, his eyes void and hollow, his stomach torn into, and his organs sprawled on the ground…and just beyond his corpse, staring back at him from the shades of the woods, were two golden eyes, He knew that this was far from over…
