There is just something amazing about a good old thunderstorm. It gives me peace.

The moment when someone says something unexpected and it triggers a complete shift in how you react to everything - like a domino effect. You go from being emotional, to being almost numb and just making things happen.

And then all the sudden you see 11:11.

I think I might be starting to get it right.

It’s funny how time passes and you convince yourself that the past no longer has an affect on your new relationships...until that moment...you met someone special, you get the butterflies in your belly, and all of the sudden you realize you threw your guard up, shut down, and start to push them away. All you want is a healthy and happy relationship, but finally realize that you are the only one keeping you from getting what you want.

People say that time heals all wounds, but I’m starting to question that thinking. I think we often convince ourselves that we are healed, but I think that the only way we really get past certain fears is by finding someone who won’t give up on us. Someone who won’t let us push them away, no matter how hard we try. Someone who is willing to fight for us. Someone who understands what we went through, because chances are, they have too. They accept our emotions, our highs and our lows that we continue to fight through, because we feel a pattern will just continue to repeat. And I promise, those times are not easy to handle.

It is scary to realize this when you really want a partner in your life, to share the journey with, but you wake up one day realizing that you are the only reason that has not yet happened.

We are all artists!

I never thought of myself as an artist. Today, as I was painting furniture in my garage (which looks more like a graveyard of old, unloved furniture) I realized that everyone is an artist...in their own way. Whether you’re an engineer, accountant, sales professional, skilled trade, musician, painter, teacher, etc. Everyone adds their own personal touch to their craft which is very special...and takes creativity, which is what makes each one of us unique and so very special. So cheers to all of us artists!
