It's been about half of the first month since Bilbo started living in the Mountain, when he began to notice something strange. An unpleasant feeling, as if someone was watching him from the dark corners of long stone corridors. Sometimes he heard strange sounds like muttering or creepy and raspy laughter, but he knew that there was no one else in the Mountain except himself and Thorin.
He thought he was starting to lose his mind, and was surprised when Thorin asked to come with him after Bilbo expressed his concerns to the king. Thorin led him to a rickety spiral staircase, that ended in a spacious room with makeshift roosts and nests, and a lot of very curious ravens.
[Considering the condition of the buildings on Ravenhill, I don't think ravens could live there all year round. In winter, they would probably prefer to move closer to the Mountain and the warmth, even if a half-dragon lives there. And Thorin, noticing that dozens of freezing birds were hiding in his corridors, made a separate room for them. And then they gradually got used to each other.]
Heeyyyyyy Happy Valentine’s Day!! Sorry for disappearing I got busy but I HAVE THINGS PLANNED TRUST U GUYS
Anyway take this bagginshield I don’t think there is enough fanart of Thorin being kissed and he’s a pretty princess, someone (Bilbo) should kiss that guy! Not to worry I shall do it myself!

Two minutes until the coronation of the King under the Mountain begins.
I drew a set of formal attire that they might wear. Since I wasn't sure how to design it, I placed the Arkenstone on the bowtie as a visual centerpiece. This is based on an ending where they get married, and after the marriage, Bilbo chooses to stay in the Lonely Mountain and rule alongside Thorin. I feel that although Thorin's dragon sickness has been cured, he must have Bilbo by his side at all times to remain stable. Thorin is still intensely possessive of Bilbo.
fluff, realizing feelings, everyone survived Smaug, light read, short story, for funsies, heartwarmer, funny I'm writing it as a comfort story so it's no shaekspeare

Thorin still felt weird. Too weird perhaps. When he sat on his throne he felt all powerful, when the dwarves spoke to him he radiated the air of superiority and power. So how come when his little hairy hobbit came in, running to him with news, a new plant he found, something to nag about, something… something warm rose in Thorin’s chest. And he felt small. He wasn’t sure if he liked it.
“You won’t believe what that human said” Bilbo huffed over his four o’clock tea (herbal leaves from the other side of the mountain specifically harvested for him (Thorin’s order, Bilbo still doesn’t know))
Thorin’s eyes, which focused a tad too long on the gold highlights glistening on Bilbo’s hair because of the sunlight falling into the balcony, were glazed and made a clear point he was not listening.
“Thorin.” Bilbo said furrowing his brows which was an invocable sign he was getting mad. Thorin smirked, making Bilbo even more mad. Maybe that was just a part of the charm.
“I’m listening.” Thorin straightened his back and crossed his arms trying to look indifferent, but his eyes kept falling on his love’s lips. He was a goner, and that was terrifying. His hands ached not to pull Bilbo onto his lap. Or do something even more… scandalous. But Bilbo would never get it. He couldn’t ever love an ugly, big dwarf like him. Could he?
Thorin might’ve been tall for a dwarf, might’ve been a king, might’ve achieved what others didn’t, but did it all really matter? Bilbo was the one, without whom he would be…nothing. Just an egotistical bastard who gets posessed by greed the second he sees worth. Maybe he still was just that. Maybe he was possessed by greed to own Bilbo, to have exclusive rights to him. Maybe this king wanted to... serve.
He sometimes thought what he would do if Bilbo came back to Shire. He could, of course. That was his home, the mountain was simply a… temporary solution - and it kept Thorin awake at night. Because when will this little thing decide to go back, to… leave him? But he could deal with that, as long as Bilbo agreed to take Thorin along. Which Bilbo wouldn't allow, of course.
Even worse scenario - what if Bilbo stays, but finds someone else? That was a low chance - Thorin knew that Bilbo kept himself to himself mostly. But with how many dwarves arrived at the Mountain to serve the new king, the danger arose.
It’s not like Thorin… loved him. No, not at all. No way. Admiration maybe, respect, attachment, friendship… Not LOVE. It couldn’t be, could it? It was unseen. Beside the fact they were both men, he was a dwarf and Bilbo was a hobbit. They COULD potentially be together but…
A scene parody of Cherry Magic! to Bagginshield I was actually contemplating if I should not change the "men" to "dwarves" coz it also makes sense that Thorin kinda don't like men but idk anymore so I just typed dwarves asljfhlaskfjl
Also for this month's theme is Jealousy for Acorns and Oak Leaves DC
