Originally I made this long post about how I thought Minajael would be really loving but I think something that he's conflicted with is his love for you and his desire for freedom.
Obviously, I'm making broad sweeping generalization because we really know nothing about him, but we know in Aladdin Jasmine struggles with her desire for freedom and her love for Aladdin. Of course, Aladdin literally represents freedom to her, and I think that translates a lot to Minajeal's relationship and feelings for you.
I kinda Minajael as someone who would enter into a lot of relationships after joining RSA in order to express his newfound freedom outside of his parent's control. He has a lot of suitors and his parents want him to get married as soon as possible because he's literally a prince, so this act of rebellion would make sense. But that's what I think restrict these relationships, they are purely rebellion. They are his versions of Jasmine sneaking out into the Bazaar, he wants to experience a life that he knows he'll never really get to have. I don't think he's cruel, where he's playing with these's peoples hearts or emotions, but I think he someone who tries to have all these different life experiences in the short amount of time he's at RSA in order to broaden his very small worldview. The act of it being something quick and fleeting is what gives him his freedom, knowing that he can't be "tied down" metaphorically. He desires a life where he isn't being haunted by pressure and expectations, and in those few moments where he belongs to someone else, he gets that freedom.
Now I still think Minajael would be loving, I just think that process would be a slow one. I don't think he's someone to fall for someone at first sight, especially when it comes to you, the prefect. Fundamentally your existence in this world is fleeting, theres a chance you could leave at any point. In many ways, you are Minajael's ideal, you're not tied to anything. That's what pushes him towards you, I don't think he would immediately have feelings per se, he wants to understand and experience, what he views as an unburdened life. You have no magic, you have no history, you are simply a person who exists and that's really appealing to him. So he goes through the motions of being charming and handsome and appealing, just to realize you don't care because you don't know him as anything other than Kalim's cousin. And that's where the feelings come in.
I personally hate that trope, because I think it's very lazy to have a character fall for someone because they aren't like other people they've met before, but I think it works in those like Kalim and Minajael's case because they are very sheltered individuals. In the most neutral way possible, they grew up as extremely wealth people, and Minajael is a literal prince. Saying that he's spoiled is like saying Leona is spoiled. Minajeal has likely had most things handed to him, and while I've read he's apparently skipped grades to graduate high school, meaning he's very smart, that doesn't mean he isn't a bit spoiled, and that translates to his relationships. Minajael is pretty, he knows this, and his life has given him the confidence he needs to get into relationships with others pretty easily. But when it comes to you he doesn't desire to do that. He doesn't want to sweep you off your feet and romance you, he wants your life, and so he forms a friendship with you on the basis of living through you. With you, he can simply be a person and I think that towers over any romantic relationship he could have with you.
Slowly, he starts to realize he doesn't want you to leave, he hates the idea of you not sticking around. He finds himself consumed by texting and calling you during the week, spending all his time sneaking around to Ramshackle so he can see you. He listens to stories about your world with so much wonder, he wishes he could experience it for himself. He finds himself falling for you in a way that really scares him. He's scared of the permanence and the realness. He's afraid that falling for you means he's throwing away his freedom he's worked so hard for. In so But there's a moment where Minajael realizes that, with you, he's the freest thing he can be, a person. He's more than a prince, more than something to be revered or ogled out. He's worth more than just fleeting love, he can have something real. With you, he realizes he doesn't have to be subjected to a life absent of real, genuine connection. With you, he can experience so much. With you, he can live the life he's always wanted.
That's where Minajael becomes the romantic lover, the one that writes poetry about you and hides it away because he thinks it's cringy. The one that buys you silk clothing and gold bangles and lies about the prince because he knows you won't accept it otherwise. The one who tries to convince you to transfer to RSA because he doesn't believe NRC deserves you. The one who wishes you would sweep him off of his feet, take him to a beautiful and magical world far away from here. One where nothing matters except you and him. Minajael loves you, he isn't quiet about it, he is Kalim's cousin after all. He loves you in ways so unfamiliar to him, but he embraces them all the same.
(Would you believe me if I said writing a character analysis on a character who isn't even in the English server is difficult?? Who would've through).
