Hi everyone, or at least those who still followed me after all this time. I think this is it, time for me to close up shop on tumblr for good. It’s been a wild ride with so many blogs and so many memories from years back. I started about 10-11 years ago with a couple homestuck blogs and have been on and off since highschool doing a couple bleach blogs, a dbz abridged blog, and finally a Steins;Gate and Multi-muse blogs (all rp blogs btw). Tumblr has helped a lot, in making friends, and saving me from crippling misery and loneliness countless times. To all of those who I’ve interacted with and made friends with, even if we no longer keep in touch (sorry for being terrible at maintaining steady communication), I thank you guys from the bottom of my heart.

But alas, every bit of rp creativity has left me and I don’t think I can recover that again, nor do I see myself going back into RPing anytime in the future. I’ll keep this and my other blog (bagofrejects) as archives, but I won’t be going on to post or communicate anymore.

But fret not, for those who still wish to communicate with me, I have a discord! Don’t let your anxiety get to you, even if we haven’t communicated in years, shoot me a DM! I’m not sure whether it was the anxiety of entering a foreign world or fear of what I may become from going on this path again, but I hesitated for quite some time by the Voidwave (name subject to change) before entering random coordinates, recording them into my smartphone, and activating the machine. 3 o’clock sounds like a good time to enter, if a version of myself doesn’t exist in this world, the time will ensure that the chances of someone seeing me appear will be low. For the physical destination, I’ve spent quite some time in America when I attended Viktor Chondria University and worked with Kurisu before moving back to Japan. My time in America was fun, and it would be interesting to see what this version of America has to offer. 

I pressed the button to activate the machine and darkness filled my vision. It felt like I was being shot from a cannon, or that I was in a spaceship mid liftoff, but the vertigo was intense. A sudden jolt and I was motionless as my body began to form. First came the bones, then the organs. Followed by blood vessels, then the nervous system. I began to feel my heart beat and lungs slowly expand and contract. Muscles followed, then skin. The air was warm, unusually so, like the sun was beating down on me. My senses returned to me, shaky with vertigo as the clothes and things I brought with me formed as well. I was suspended in the air for the formation and slowly descended down a foot before touching the ground. I look up, I must’ve made a mistake. I meant 3AM, not 3PM! I look around in a panic before locking eyes with a young girl, could be in her twenties. A sharp chill runs down my spine and I suddenly realize the icy cold droplets of sweat that appear on my sides. I raise my hand and wave nervously, hoping to whatever being is out there to have mercy on my poor soul by having this woman not seen me just be formed out of nothing.

“H-hi there”

I say awkwardly as I feel the dark void in my scream “Kill me now”.

~*~ Emerald eyes were staring off into space as she zoned out. It had been a long week for her, and an even longer morning. No matter how much coffee she’d had that morning (a full pot) Kaisa was still dragging. The case she’d just finished filing away had brought up unpleasant memories. The case was over and the girl that it centered around was finally safe. Kaisa felt for the girl, but she was struggling with her own issues after the case.

She was taking a break from her office and going to get another cup of coffee from the local shop. Kaisa was always hyper-aware of her surroundings. It was something she’d learned from everything terrible she’d experienced growing up. 

Her emerald green eyes saw the look of panic in the man standing in front of her. Thin lips turned upwards as Kaisa looked him over. She’d not seen him in her path at first. Kaisa just chalked it up to her mind blocking him out for a moment. 

“Hello.” The short blonde replied, amused at the awkward tone in his voice. “I didn’t see you before, where did you come from?” 

Kaisa’s voice was matter of fact, but still polite.

*As I looked I saw a coffee shop whose name was in English. At least I got the location correct, or so it seemed. I looked down a little to lock eyes with a piercing emerald glare. Familiar in a sense, my mind went back to my time with the time-traveling daughter of my favorite right-hand man, Suzuha Amane. I gave a gentle smile and straightened the collar to my shining white armor (lab coat). Given the lack of complete disbelief, panic, or sense of bewilderment that should be emanating from this tiny blonde woman, it’s safe to assume she did not witness the terrifying formation of my body. While the spirit of Hououin Kyouma demands that I start off boastful and honest, claiming to have succeeded in teleporting to here and espousing my greatness, my experience and gut feeling is telling me to be a bit more tame. I scratch the back of my head in embarrassment as I say*

Well, I’m afraid I’m a bit lost. I’m just traveling through, exploring what America has to offer.

At this point, I’m happy that I’m able to go to a world where everyone I care about is alive and well. I’m happy that I got to succeed in protecting the family I love. I’m happy that I get to live with the person I love. I’m happy to not be bound by the terrible convergences that whatever god that’s out there has put in place. And I’m happy that I get the chance to meet more people and more versions of people once more.

Time of Hiatus/Revival

[An explanation for what Okabe’s been doing while I’ve been away]

It’s been 3 years since I found a suitable timeline for me to settle down in. World line 18.954104, a world line free from the Committee of 300, free from time travelling shenanigans in general. It’s quite foreign and near-Utopian, involving an intense diversion in history involving events that I was never taught in school, but ended up shaping the fate of the world. To think that the CNT-FAI winning a war all the way in Spain back in the 30′s would ignite and inspire a global revolution. Japan was very different as a result as well, but that was acceptable. The only criteria I had when looking for a suitable home was that all the lab members got to live long, peaceful lives. No murder, no world wars, no SERN-caused dystopia, and no Committee of 300 to ruin things. 

In this Epsilon timeline, I ended up settling down with the Kurisu that resided there. Her taking on the research role, and me taking on the engineering role, we made a career out of furthering brain science for medical reasons. We actually ended up using some aspects of the time leap and Amadeus technologies to create a cure for Alzheimer's. Daru ended up marrying Yuki and having Suzuha; guess things don’t change on that aspect. What was surprising was when Mayuri and Rukako got together, as well as Faris and Moeka. I had to rebuild the Future Gadget Laboratory, seems like the Okabe from prior never had the lab. Took some work, but we mainly meet once a week. I say mainly because Maho still lives in what used to be the US. Kurisu and I have been thinking about having a kid, though at 29 it seems a little too early. I was hoping for maybe 32-34, but Kurisu’s been pushing. As a way to test if we were really ready, we agreed to watch over little Suzuha for a month while Daru and Yuki go on a worldwide vacation.

 At first it was ok, Kurisu was surprisingly good with Suzuha, and I’d admit I liked the little one. She really enjoyed our antics as I invoked the spirit of Hououin Kyouma, but the times of fun quickly turned into times of stress as Suzuha started to get bored and annoying. Bothering both of us while we were working, constantly whining for attention, and this is just a little toddler. A baby’s even more demanding! We agreed that waiting a few years was in both of our best interests when it came to having a kid after 3 weeks of looking after Suzuha. When the 4th week came, that’s where things changed. Kurisu, tired of Suzuha’s whiny boredom, decided to stick her in my room with the TV on, hoping that it’d make her shut up and allow Kurisu to go on with her work. Turns out, that was the worst thing to do, as I had left my cellphone in my room. Suzuha decided to fiddle around with it and ended up activating the return function of the Void Wave (name subject to change). 

I felt my soul tear out of my body and was put back in front of the Void Wave yet again, a device I had forgotten so long ago. I had met so many different people thanks to this thing, people from worlds I couldn’t even imagine. In my time settled down in the Steins;Gate world line, I’ve gotten myself a PhD in engineering, and learned quite a few skills and bits of knowledge. Now the Void Wave had world line maneuverability, but it didn’t have time maneuverability like the Time Leap machine did. Took sometime, but I ended up adding some attachments to the Void Wave (name subject to change) and now am able to travel freely through time as well as world lines, so long as that temporal movement is backwards (to the past). Now that I am able to travel to the point where I exited from my home world line, I am now faced with a newfound freedom. I can go out, visit whatever world I so choose, and then be back home in time for dinner. I might end up tired or bored of the travel eventually, but I might as well jump on this opportunity. I looked out into the vast glittering expanse of world line streams, stretched my hand, and yelled out:

Beware, world lines of this infinite universe! The insane mad scientist Hououin Kyouma has returned!

Now, just where shall I go next?

It’s been a long time, hasn’t it? I’m musing over whether I’ll ever return to rping again. So much time has past, so much has changed, my feed suggests the rp scene here has gotten a lot more dead since I was last active... Should I even be doing this? 24 and still thinking of doing another go at this. The more I think about it and what I’m doing, what I’ve done with my life, the more depressing it’s gotten. So much time wasted, stuck with the road ahead full of sludge. Sorry, just getting this out of my system for my sake.

I’d rather come back tomorrow if you keep going like this! ” And to think she believed today would be a quiet day at the lab… Okabe never ceased to surprise her and most of the times, his ways weren’t at all pleasant. Kurisu let out a sigh and pondered over her future actions. Should she enter and wait for Mayuri to return from school? Or should she visit Urushibara instead?

“ I’m coming inside because Mayuri said she’ll be back after an hour. ” The neuroscientist climbed up the stairs at her usual pace. Once she stepped into the lab, she started towards the sofa as always.

“ Be quiet now, my head hurts. ”

*He looked as he heard the woman climb up the stairs an enter. Her long red hair swaying as her annoyed face looked at him. He heard her words and gave a huff in defiance. He then sighed an went the the refrigerator. Opening it, he took two of the many bottles of Dr. Pepper out and closed the door. Thinking of a good come-back, he gave one to Kurisu.*

“You know, you wouldn’t have a headache if you didn’t stay up late reading @channel boards all night.”
