Go For It, Nakamura! Episode 1-2

Genuinely makes my heart burst that this anime adaptation is happening. They could've easily cut this line. They've cut lines before that mention sexuality - heck Shinkai of all people wasn't allowed to make a sapphic movie like he wanted to. If Makoto Shinkai got shot down on making a queer love story, at least he has enough cultural soft power to be able to talk about it without repercussions. Think of the amount of things that's been censored behind the scenes.

And this anime explicitly kept this in, sprinkled in the gay flag, and has such creative direction and hilariously dynamic animation. Just wonderful from beginning to end.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End S2 Episode 8

Again, Frieren is unmatched at using characters you'd probably have forgotten to show the most heartbreaking kindness. Genau's tone is so calm it likely helped the baker pass on peacefully, and even when dead, Genau kept talking. As if he wanted to give just a little more comfort so that his childhood friend's soul can continue listening to him as he passes on from this world to the next.

And it breaks my heart he didn't make it. By how desperately he grabbed Genau when Genau found him, we know he wanted to live. He fought so fucking hard to live.

Office Isekai Worker Episode 5

See how passionately Aresh is holding Sei? See how passionately Aresh is kissing Sei? Notice how Aresh always goes to hold Sei whenever he even slightly senses Sei is feeling bad or if he thinks Sei is straying to someone else?

Sei thinks this relationship is purely transactional and medicinal and there's like no emotions involved.

Tamon's B Side Episode 4

REALLY gutsy to have Tamon actually LOSE the spot and through something completely realistic of overpracticing/overworking and overshooting your vocals. Like wow. They really went there. To end this episode as well with Tamon literally in TEARS for losing his spot but also thankful for Utage's presence. I couldn't have asked for a better episode.

Frieren Season 2 Episode 1

I should probably harp on the themes of today's episode, but instead, I'm just gonna fangirl and hyperfocus on this moment where Himmel picks her up because LOOK at Frieren's face. The SECOND he got down to grab her by the waist, she was moving herself over his shoulder. He's picked her up like this so many times that she knows what's coming and she trusts him fully with her body and soul. It's better than a princess carry.

SHOJO ANIME ADAPTATIONS ARE SO, SO BACK BABY!!! Did you see that CRAZY good animation? Like INSANELY GOOD. This is the level of adaptation we've deserved for years, and I'm so glad it's this anime because HELLO, THEY'RE SO CUTE AND FUNNY?! Frieren's airing this season, and already, I'm like wait, maybe THIS will be my favorite anime?
