The US v. Belgium game was today in Seattle. So Seattle is getting "thick" as someone in our building said. People EVERYWHERE! We skipped out of work a little early to check out Pacific Place but it was at capacity so we actually went to the Armory instead. It wasn't too bad once we got in, but def thick with people. And the U.S. lost anyways so I didn't get to experience any cute chants.
We have officially been in Seattle for 1 whole year!
maybe we should have celebrated by doing really touristy seattle things, but it's also a holiday and our dating anniversary. so nothing crazy.
we did check out this sauna thingy. rickys been saying he wishes our place had a sauna or hot tub so i looked up a few places for us to try but we settled on this. i could not handle it. it was 45 minutes at 150 which i guess is cooler than reg suanas. but basically thats what i cook my totinos pizza at so damn. lol. they gave us the option for some sprays like eucalyptus or "defense" which was cinnamon. and i was like omg im going to feel like a fucking pie. i had to take so many breaks. there were different colors that i guess promote different things? i picked orange because its supposed to help with fat. 1 session isn't going to do much but here's to trying.
i was exhausted after that even though we literally just sat.

then we picked up polu and drove around. we went to ballard to check out the salmon ladders although its not the season. there were a bunch of seals! they were feasting on fish and getting attacked by birds!
we walked around the lake a little but it really was crazy. so we hung out at a bar closeby and got pizza. then went home to chill with polu and hopefully avoid all craziness of fireworks.

you can see gas works from the balcony on the rooftop so we went to see how many people were on the hill. little ants!
the night wasnt that bad actually. we watched project hail mary and polu was calm the whole time. until we went to sleep and the fireworks kept going off. and polu basically jumped off and back onto the bed via my body from 1 am until 3 am.
We had to drug polu to take him to the vet today to get shots.
he def feeling it. we still took him out and about but omg he is just space cadet. the vet appt was ok. he had to wear a muzzle and he was still growling. but at least he didn't bite. now we don't have to go back to CA next week just for a freaking vet appt.
ricky was saying maybe we should just drug polu every once in a while so he can be chill. but i actually feel like that is kinda mean. im poisoning him. its not like he said he wants to be drugged!
Not sure where I missed a few days or what happened but I am off.
We are growing sweet potatoes! let's see how it goes. my mom was growing a bunch back in CA so when we got home ricky decided we should just grow ours instead of trying to eat them. they look really cool even though we wont be able to plant them anytime soon.
horrible picture, but we started our drive back to seattle at 4:30 am! my dad woke up to say bye. and tell us we were running late for our flight. ricky got his haircut while we were in the wood but the top is still so long that he kind of has a sokka look about him. i put it into a pony tail on the drive.
we were home for 10 days. and i feel like we put in a decent amount of effort to see as many people as possible. always appreciate when people make time to see us when we are home. who knows when we will be back. or what will happen in between all of these events. but glad we got to see everyone.
I survived the night. and we woke up. made some bfast. hung out a bit. started packing up a little. and headed out to lunch. actually really liked the lunch place. but i bit my tongue when i threw up and so it was really hard to eat. lol.
we put polu in the trunk so rjay and noah could ride with us for a little. and look at this fool.
polu is not made for camping. look at his grumpy ass face. we left after lunch and made it to the site around 3ish. picked up some alcohol but this place was pretty strict so it didn't really feel like a party kind of environment. we drank. cooked. and i went to sleep early. woke up in the middle of the night and THREW UP! IN THE CAMP BATHROOM! IT WAS HORRIBLE! then i went back to sleep as if nothing happened. lol.
Against matt's better judgement, we went to see supergirl. it honestly wasnt that bad to me. i did get the feeling that it was like - let me fight people. and now im going to fight people here. and now im going to fight people here. but her origin story was pretty compelling to me. i didnt like that the story was kind of like pandering to LETS DO ALL THINGS FEMINIST! WE HAVE TO SAVE THE CHILD BRIDES! like why cant she be bad ass and save the whole world like superman does. i cried a bunch and it was entertaining to me. not a top movie. would not watch it again just to watch. but not horrible. i don't regret.
after the movies we went to get late night dessert with the chous. basically the only time we saw them while we were home.
I went into the SJ office today basically just to have lunch and then peace out. we walked around san pedro and it was so cute. they have a ton of stuff going on for the world cup. feels way more popping than seattle actually.
after lunch i left. hahaha. me and ricky went to pick up 7 leaves & panda for dinner. then headed to dea's so we got to see all the kiddies. riley so cute! and of course she loved jayse. josie hella loved jayse too. would only look at him. noah & rowan played upstairs. downstairs. in the closet. in all the rooms. on the stairs. on the couch. kids have so much energy. holy crap.
jayse brought this tequila which was not bad. best part is it comes in this soccer ball. hahaha.
Had an impromptu client call and i didn't really pack very professional looking clothes so i stole a shirt from my mom
Aiyla was chilling in the room with me and we ended up playing this scribble game. She's super creative. one of us would draw a scribble and the other person would turn it into something.
she also came up with a story for her characters. they were all wolves. mine were all sea creatures. so she said it was a land vs. sea war and each character had to fight.
auntie pat brought over some corn earlier in the week and my dad was hyped to cook it - boiled! not microwaved! - and we had also had some steak.
but check out my corn! it freaking had 2 little nubs in here. lol. i ate them both.
Here are the girls before Hazel got sick. lol. i dunno what it is about hanging out with me but this girl just started throwing up. omg! i feel so bad!
my baby's little photo shoot.
we met up for lunch at the oyster place and hung out a bit more before all heading off in our own directions. sad that was my only time on our trip we got to see the girls but at least we got to see them!
we went home really quick to change and relax before heading back out for dinner in fairfield.
criselle and aiyla were doing this little pop'n cook'n thing that i wanted to do with the kids in napa! how cute.
Tap to view!
ryder should really take a dance class or something. this kid is always dancing! he was trying to recreate the spiderman dance. polu really just could not get along with pookie. but him and bleu were chill.
The kids were all super well behaved! playing with clay. the adults also super well behaved. playing with alcohol. nengy didn't make it until dinner, but at least she came.
we went to 2 wineries, laird & clif - did not know that clif is related to CLIF BARS! i wish they had some there to taste. a flight of bars. overall i liked clif better because they had the low alcohol drinks. very light. they also served small bites with their wines. and they had a bruschetta truck which was pretty good. i would go back. also dog friendly. we checked in at the hotel to bring back the dogs then left for dinner at carabao. it was good! but this lady was freaking singing hella crazy and it was so loud. my god. we could barely hear each other at the same time. then we headed back to our room and nengy hung out for a bit and then still drove herself home! she crazy!
