It’s not often that Anja finds herself with the time to do this, especially not so far outside her home. Rarer still does she find herself so stumped. So when the kitchen doors swing open, in comes the perfect opportunity. “Here -- try some of this for me, would you?” the princess implores, holding out a frozen treat for the intruder without even bothering to glance up. “I feel like it’s missing... something, but I can’t put my finger on what.”
“IF I COULD LEAVE NUR, I DON’T KNOW WHERE I WOULD GO. It’s not a thought I have the option to seriously entertain.”
More about Anja below the cut!
How was your character raised?: In Arendelle’s palace, same as her mother. Though for Anja, the experience was much less isolating -- beyond her immediate family, her aunt, uncle, cousins, and other family friends were always around. Also, though she’s wary to keep her powers under control, she doesn’t fear them the same way Elsa did, since she had her mother there to teach her how to properly handle them (and reassure her, after the occasional childhood accident, that losing control didn’t make her a monster).
What’s their relationship like with their parent(s)?: Anja’s fairly close with Elsa. They’re not the most gushy duo, but they get along well, and Anja can’t think of anyone else she’d want as a mother. Anna and Kristoff are also like second and third parents to her.
What does your character do when they’re bored?: She doesn’t have too much time to herself to be bored. On the rare occasion that she does, though, Anja likes to spend time quietly by herself -- be it solo hobbies like reading and writing, cooking, ice skating, or going out to the city and people-watching from her favorite cafe.
Is your character expressive of their emotions? Why or why not?: Anja’s never really been one to wear her heart on her sleeve. She does show a decent amount of emotion, especially the more lighthearted ones -- but she’s fairly guarded when it comes to more complicated ones.
What do they do when confronted?: Not much, usually. In petty arguments especially, she tends to grow cold, treating the other person as if they’re beneath her. Not because she really believes that, but it’s generally a solid defense mechanism to get them to go away. Especially since she’s not the best at apologizing or expressing deep feelings. If it’s a more intellectual confrontation, she just presents why her point is right without bothering to tear the other person’s down.
Is your character interested in romantic relationships? Why or why not?: Somewhat. She would like one, but after seeing how many royals end up in politically arranged marriages rather than ones out of love, she doesn’t expect too much of romance (though she’d definitely love for someone to change her mind). Anna and Kristoff challenge this expectation somewhat, but Anna was also never Arendelle’s heir.
Do they have any fears? Why so?: She fears not having control, in almost any situation, and not living up to expectations of her.
Rose, just as clumsy as her mother, had just taken a tumble walking along the sidewalk after a trip into Central City. Her face grew red and she quickly looked around to make sure that no one had seen her when she met someone’s eyes. “Can we just pretend that never happened?”
“And what do I get out of it if we do?” But a smile betrays her levity as Anja leans down, holding out a hand to help the fallen woman up. “Of course we can, don’t worry. Are you in a rush to get somewhere, or just always this... unfortunately coordinated?”
