How you do anything is how you do everything.
“Plant feelings of gratitude, cultivate all the little joys and then harvest as much love as you can possibly share.”
— Juansen Dizon, How to garden your heart

A lot has shifted this past year. We’re wrapping up a wild ride of a decade in a few weeks and I’m just so grateful to be here and to have come from wherever I’ve come from. It’s incredible the amount of things we are capable of surviving. All of it is a blessing, it truly is. Even the past few weeks have been critical in teaching little lessons that have undoubtedly reverberated across all facets of my life. So, I challenge anyone reading this - how can you view yourself in your current surroundings through a lens that allows you to find and add value to your life? Find the lesson and be grateful for it. You might not know why it was important to learn it when you did, but somewhere down the line it will only add to who you are.
"كل تأخيرة فيها خيرة"
"Behind every delay, there's khayr (goodness)"
i said this once a long time ago on a different blog during a different time in my life, but i think, tonight, is a good night for it to be said once more:
kindness is an action, not an emotion. you can choose to be kind, you can choose who you gift that kindness to. you can fuel it with anger, you can fuel it with rage, you can fuel it with joy and sorrow and love. it can be awe-inspiring, it can be simple, but i think, in the world we live in, to choose kindness, above all else, is the most radical thing of all.
نحن نزهر من خلال كل مشقة .
We blossom through every hardship.
for the longest time, it feels like i have been trying to make sense of life but now i see there is no sense to be made, only life to be lived. there is no set purpose to fulfill, there are no checklists to complete, just an ephemeral moment to breathe, to love, to be kind, to feel. life is in all the simple, little things that we so often overlook. uncomplicate your heart. be here, be present, embrace your own journey. there is so much beauty and wonder to be found right where you are.

“Young one, do not forget prayer. Each time in your prayer, if it be sincere, a new emotion will make itself fleetingly glimpsed, and in it a new thought with which you were previously unfamiliar and which will give you courage again; and you will realize that prayer is an education.”
— Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Brothers Karamazov
