“Because Math is required by the university? And you shouldn’t be so harsh on math, it’s not so bad. Once you learn to do it in your head, anyway.” Anna shrugged. “What is it exactly that you’re having trouble with? I’m proficient up to trigonometry so I can help you with calculus for sure.”

“I’m sorry, you know how I get.” Anna sighed. “That whole holier than thou smarter thing.” She shook her head. “No, don’t figure it out on your own, this is what I’m here for. If you follow my study guide you should definitely, one hundred and fifty percent pass.”

“Look, I highly doubt you’re going to fail the exam. At most you’ll get a C, and while that’s...not always the best option, it wouldn’t affect your grade as dramatically as if you failed outright.” Anna leaned over the textbook she was looking at, addressing the person sitting across from her. “Now, what was it you wanted me to help you with again?”

“A museum that’s geared towards children is a children’s museum.” Anna pointed out. “Unless there was one or two sections considered a kids zone in an otherwise adult museum, it was a children’s museum.” She shook her head. “You’ve gone to school here or a while, haven’t you? How do you get lost?”

NYU:TASK004 - Anna Richards & Ayla Carter

When her mother forced her to go to summer camp to “interact with other children in her age group”, Anna was sure she was going to be miserable the entire time, until Ayla came along and changed that. She was the only person Anna got along with that was willing to deal with her being the “smart one” and the “bossy one”. Anna admired her for her boldness, and her extreme affinity for the common sense that Anna lacked. She is the only one who can push Anna out of her “genius zone” and into being a real human being with actual feelings.
