Seb broke into my room and left the door open. Someone took Daedalus and sent me a ransom note. I’m really sorry, I’m trying to get him back, but they didn’t show up for the money exchange like they said they would.

I can’t believe this. Why would someone take a stuffed animal? And don’t give anyone any money.

I wasn’t going to let them keep the $500 but I’d have willingly let them look at it for a while to get your owl back.

I'd almost rather go swimming in the river again. There's an indoor pool near where my mom lives, if you want to go there instead. I swear it's legal this time.

Probably best to not give him any ways to kill you without weapons after getting him arrested. Greece isn’t sounding so bad now, but yeah, that’ll work.

Hey… if there’s too much trouble involved for you, I’ll understand if you want to call this whole thing quits.  I’ve got a bad habit of getting my friends in trouble right along with me.  It’s part of why I was so glad to move.  I thought things would be different here, but it’s turning out to be a lot more of the same.  So if you want to stop hanging out, it won’t be the first time it’s happened.  I’ll be fine with it.

I like hanging out, I just wish I could figure out why it keeps going wrong. I mean, there was nothing we could do about last time, but I don’t know.

It’s not us, it’s me. Sometimes trouble just follows me. I’m a magnet for it. I’d like to be normal, but, you know. I’m not. From all the schools I ever went to, to my stepdad, to moving out here and getting surprise-showered, it’s kind of never-ending. I won’t blame you if you’re super turned off by all of it.

I don’t think all of the trouble here is you. I’m not sure why Seb’s taken such an interest in you, but I’m sure it’ll pass. You’re not that fascinating, Seaweed Brain. And so far my dad hasn’t seemed to notice.
