Now, I took a few tests to see just which type Annabelle would be, and I suppose it was fitting that she was consistently caught up between nearly four types. Scoring 6 on two and 5 on another two, she's has a diverse personality; she has the capability of being anything. She scored the 6's on Type 7 and on Type 5, the Generalist and the Thinker/Observer respectively. Quite honestly, she doesn't fit any of the type conveniently. I can force her into one type, one box. She's too wild, too adaptable for me to do that. She's too many different people all at once. She is bits and pieces of all of the types, but none of them completely.
As for what parts of Type 5, well, there's the fact that Annabelle has every ability to stand back and look at her situation objectively. She looks at every situation methodically, looking at everyone she talks to as an opportunity for seduction almost, the opportunity to play a new role. She will be calm in a crisis and she remains unaffected by social pressure, always staying true to her own mind and what it wants. She'll do things people ask, and she'll let herself be commanded if the role she's playing calls for that, but she is always true to what she wants. She is bright, brilliant even, and she is infinitely curious about the world, as well as she has the ability to keep a poker face, but can't handle having people poke holes in her personal life. She is deeply impersonal and has an exceedingly hard time forming deep connections with people.
But then there's Type 7, people who enjoy stimulating conversation with people enjoy their grandiose visions of the world. They are people who care deeply for themselves and enjoy taking care of themselves. They don't like being told what to do or who to be. They are spontaneous and free-spirited. They are gusty and love to take risks and they love to try exciting adventures as well as have varied interests and skills. They feel confined in one-to-one relationships, which explains how comfortable she is having feelings with Killian while still sleeping around. They are action oriented people, just as Annabelle is someone who loves the actions she takes.
But then there are the two types that Annabelle almost was.
Firstly she was almost Type 1, the Perfectionist. They are self-disciplined and able to accomplish quite a great deal. They are able to focus on being the best self they can be, completely. It just so happens that with Annabelle she is able to be a number of her best selves. The parts about being consistently disappointed with themselves doesn't really fit Annabelle, but then this is the type she almost was, right?
Finally, there was Type 8, the Leader/Asserter. Type 8's are direct, self-reliant, self-confident, and protective. She has the capability of being in charge, capable of drawing any enjoyment she can out of life. She can be blunt and frightening, just as being a Type 8 calls for, but she can also be loyal to those she wants to be. She is independent and maybe a little bit of a loner. She has friends, an endless number of followers, but she also doesn't let people in. She doesn't even really know who she is, making it impossible for anyone else to either, leaving her mostly alone.
Annebelle Knighton is a lot of different people all at once, making it impossible for her to conveniently fit into just one type, completely understandably.
I feel pretty comfortable saying Annabelle is an ESTP. They tend to be people who fall into risky behavior, which we all know Annabelle tends to do. She puts forward the personality of Southern Belle for her mother, knowing that that's the relationship her mom desires, but she also knows how to get down and rowdy with the nitty gritty underbelly of Barton Hollow. There's a reason she gets such a thrill out of going to the boxing matches. She lives in the moment, diving into action head first. She has that rapid fire response time to every situation, able to process her surroundings all the time. She can be the person anyone wants to talk to, to be around. She is exactly who she wants to be and that's everyone in the world. She is bold and outgoing and sociable, but she is also impatient and risk-prone and defiant. She can't be boxed in, not that she'd ever allow herself to get in a situation in which she'd be boxed in. As for romantic relationships with ESTP's, hers with Killain pretty well. She is fun and full of surprises, not to mention hard to pin down, which is typical of an ESTP relationship.
