Adrian is the love interest and future husband of Yuki.
Adrian is considered to be the “average Joe” of the gang as he grew up in a loving, two parent household with his 3 sisters, had your average high school/college experience, and maintain’s “normal” interests. This is a direct contrast to Yuki’s life.
Although he grew up with a pretty standard story, he is not without his share of experiences. He lost his sister, shortly before joining the BKA, to a battle with cancer. This, and his consuming career, caused a break down of his engagement to his highschool sweat heart. Since then he hasn’t had any strongly committed relationships and has focused on his job.
Adrian is introduced to the story when he and his fellow agents are investigating a missing person believed to have been kidnapped into the sex slave trade. Yuki is interviewed for his connection with Neo. eventually, It’s discovered that no one in the main story is at all part of this particular crime. Agent Mori feels bad for the way his interrogation of Yuki was somewhat biased because of his appearance and associations, so he offers to buy him lunch as an apology. Yuki accepts and the two find each other very interesting since they lead very opposite lives.
Adrian finds Yuki to be instantly charming. He is the boy he wasn’t supposed to befriend in school, a street punk with a dislike for rules and an ififnty for trouble. But Adrian finds this to be appealing to him as he gets to see the world around him from a new perspective. They find common interest in old rock music and a shared enjoyment of Jazz, similar taste in food, same favorite beer (Einbecker Ur-Bock), and a love of Friedrich Schiller. Adrian is a very much a facts and figures kind of person, so meeting a creative soul like Yuki sparks an interest in him.
Ultimately, Yuki asks Adrian to dinner, and the two begin a slow courtship. Adrian has never felt romantic/sexual attraction to a man before and has a bit of an identity struggle. But after spending time dating him, he comes to terms with himself and openly dates Yuki. This leads to them eventually getting married and starting a family together.
Adrian is very driven in his career path and finds fulfillment in his job, catching and putting away criminals. He has a great relationship with his unit members, sometimes has outings with them. A lot of them are at bars or football games. He is an avid sports fan, something Yuki doesn’t understand. Other then sports, he enjoys greek food, classic black and white movies, slow dancing, and, yes, long walks on the beach. He opens up to some of Yuki’s interests and finds a love of painting. He also harbors a secret interest in Star Trek.
Personality wise, Adrian has a generally calm demeanor. He is a little more reserved but commanding in his position. A lot of his coworker’s see him as stoic and serious, but with Yuki, he is vibrant and filled with smiles. He’s fairly easy going and generally doesn’t seem bothered by much. This is partly because, at work, he has to be serious and sees some very gruesome things. He aspires to have what everyone jokingly refers to as “the white picket fence” life. He absolutely loves kids.
