Ivy is 2024 Barbie Signature Poison Ivy wearing a jacket I recently made using the distressed remains of a vintage Ken wool blazer as a pattern, with thrifted fabric and beads from my odd bead horde. Her earrings are from Rainbow High Delilah Fields. Her lace pants aren't really visible in these pics, but I made them a while back, using an old pair of leggings for material and pants from an unbranded Amazon Barbie fashion pack as a pattern.
Meshelle is a Barbie Extra Fly Beach doll head rebodied on a YouCreate body. She's wearing a dress I whipped up in one night out of a cloth bag that a wooden comb came in from Amazon. Her hair flower is a clip-on earring and her earrings are human earrings with the posts bent halfway and doubled over for thickness. Her bracelet is from a Zuru Mini Fashion ball and her shoes are from a recently released Barbie fashion pack (red top and skirt with pink heart print and black ribbon straps).
Here are some pics of my newest doll trunk photo booth, featuring Tiana (just 'cause), Claire (recently tweaked faceup), and Sasha (Bratz Pop Starz Sasha newly purchased on clearance and rebodied onto a DC Super Hero Girls Bumblebee body--a close enough skin tone match).
Not pictured are all the sewing projects I've been working on--too busy to take pictures at the moment. :)
My dolls of 2025! (Not including Reel Drama Draculaura, who I intend to keep boxed until I have a nice coffin ready for her.) Some bought new, some bought secondhand, and running the gamut from unaltered to lightly restyled to rerooted/rebodied/repainted.
Below the Read More is a list with IDs and other tidbits!
Decora - Decora Girlz Wave 1 Decora. I've almost been tempted multiple times this year to try rebodying her on a curvy Barbie body because she's just so unwieldy to handle, but the sight of her and her goofy proportions undeniably sparks joy.
Luna - Rainbow High/Shadow High Sunny/Luna 2-pack Luna. I've yet to fully wash out all of the gel in her hair because I don't want to lose her curls, so I've mostly just finger-combed her hair. Getting her meant having two Lunas, so she inspired me giving my existing Luna an eye swap with Phaedra Westward and turning her into "Sanguine."
Sunny - Rainbow High/Shadow High Sunny/Luna 2-pack Sunny. Queen of the teddy bear purse.
Dia - Shadow High Dia Mante. Lovingly de-tinseled, save for her bangs. Wearing an outfit I made from an old pair of pants that looks surprisingly good on her.
Florissant - 2004 Barbie Fairytopia Blue Sparkle Fairy. She's named for the city she shipped from when I bought her on eBay.
Millie - Barbie Deluxe #3 rebodied on the MtM Volleyball player body. Wearing Barbie Avon Strawberry Sorbet's outfit (skirt modified to fit the modern waist--still pops open if I look at it funny, lol). Somehow ended up in love with a cartoon bird. She's got a complex life for a Millie.
Galexis - The only "full" custom this year! And only repaint--of a "new" doll anyway, but that's another post. She is made of a LOL OMG Da Boss head on a Barbie Signature Poison Ivy body, and her hair was salvaged from a Shadow High Karla Choupette head.
Megan - VIP Girls Megan. I pretty quickly undid the hair pull gimmick as I could not make it work for me. What she lacks in knee articulation, she makes up for in cuteness and general presence.
Henrietta - likely some kind of Mardi Gras souvenir doll, found at a thrift store. She came lightly stitched on by her outfit to a rotating musical pillow. Her outfit actually has a velcro closure in the back! It's not outside the realm of possibility that I will make her a new outfit someday.
Spectra - G3 Monster High Spectra Vondergeist rerooted with glow-in-the-dark polypropylene hair. (My understanding is that poly hair holds its color-change properties stronger and longer than nylon. I have not personally tested this.)
Londynn - LUV doll Londynn rebodied on a Barbie Extra #19 body. Her original body is nicely articulated and I hope to find a nice head for it some day (I've been pondering if the Barbie Extra Mini with the "Extra Cute" hair stamp would be a good skin tone match, but haven't quite been willing to buy one to check). However, I like her lovely mature-looking face on the Barbie body instead, proportion-wise.
Big Mitt Betty - another Mardi Gras souvenir doll found at a thrift store. I couldn't resist those big ol' hands. Her costume and body are one, so no redressing in her future. (Based her name off of Big Rig Betty from WOW: Women of Wrestling, which I was watching a lot of at the time.)
Meshelle - Barbie Extra Fly Beach doll rebodied on a You Create Kit #3 curvy MtM body. I eyed her all year on Amazon and finally committed to buying her when her price got down to $20 and change, and also on one of the coldest days of the year, lol.
Gil - G1 Monster High Gil Webber. My first Monster High boy. It must be shared that he came to me in a used doll lot with a blindfold tied around his eyes.
Someone had fun here.
15. Cloetta - Bratzillaz Cloetta Spelletta rerooted with hair salvaged from several other dolls!
16. Aphrodite - Monster High Fearbook Venus, who needed a new name since I already had a Venus. So far, I'm keeping her hair in the net it came in since I like the shape and density.
