A TRAVELOGUE: MY FAVORITE PLACE IN MY PROVINCE

If this is your first time hearing about this place, well, Burias Island is one of the three major island of Masbate. The island has two municipalities, Claveria and San Pascual. The beauty of San Pascual is now getting a lot of popularity in social media because of its natural white powdery sand beaches, sandbars, islet and exotic rock formation. If you’re thinking of spending your vacation in this island one thing you should put into your itinerary is to visit the town of Claveria.

You can take a flight from Manila to Legazpi City, from there you need to take a uv express or jeepney to the town of Pio Duran in Albay. If you’re up for a longer but cheaper trip, you can ride a bus. There are different bus lines in Cubao and Pasay Terminal that offers daily trip directly to Pio Duran. This takes 10-12 hours, fare is 650PHP for an ordinary bus and 800-1000PHP for air-conditioned bus.

Upon arrival at Pio Duran port, which is the nearest jump off point to Claveria and will let you reach the town for just an two-hour boat ride, you need to pay 5PHP terminal fee. 1st trip leave Pio Duran at around 7:00am and 8: 30am for the second trip. The pump boat can accommodate at least 40 to 50 passengers. Fare is 100PHP. (student and senior citizen discount for 20% off)

Going to Claveria might seem difficult and challenging but it is definitely worth it. You can explore many tourist spots for very reasonable and budget friendly price.

As soon as people hear about Burias Island they would immediately think of the rock formations of Animasola Island and the beaches in San Pascual. What people didn’t know there’s a hidden white sand paradise in Claveria which would give you the right dosage of Vitamin Sea. San Isidro beach isn’t as grand as the other but believe me, its beauty is surreal. It showcases an eye-catching vacation spot with its captivating view, powdery white sands and clear water. So, if you are longing for a unspoiled paradise that is favourable for soul-searching or just an relaxing vacation with your family, then this should be your perfect choice. Plus you need not to worry about your accommodation since they provides complete facilities.

➢ THESIS STATEMENT:

• Love is the central theme in The Gift of Magi. Living in abject poverty, Jim and Della sell their most prized possessions in order to afford Christmas gifts for one another. Their actions demonstrate their willingness to sacrifice material goods for their love. Jim sells his beloved watch to buy Della combs for her hair; Della sells her hair to buy Jim a chain for his watch. While both sacrifices render the gifts they buy pointless, the narrative shows how it is the sentiment, rather than the gift itself, that truly matters.

SUMMARY

➢ The story takes place just before Christmas, and Della Young is concerned about what she should give her husband, Jim, as a present. She counts her savings and finds only $1.87, which is not enough to buy a worthy gift. She is frustrated since she wants to present her husband with something he deserves for his hard work. Della tries to find a way out of the situation and finally comes up with an idea. The most precious thing she has is her long shining brown hair. After she looks at it in the mirror, she dresses up and goes to Madame Sofronie, a hairdresser. The woman cuts Della’s hair quickly and gives her $20.

Having enough money, Della visits several shops to find a present for Jim. She is not satisfied with anything she finds until she knows exactly what she needs. Della remembers that her husband’s most valuable thing is his gold watch, but he has to wear it with a leather strap since the original one has been broken. The woman finds a platinum chain that will perfectly suit the watch, pays $21 for it, and goes home.

When Jim arrives and sees his wife without her gorgeous hair, he becomes surprised and puzzled. Della cannot understand his reaction until she unpacks his present for her. She discovers a set of combs that she has desired for a long time, but since she does not have her long hair anymore, they appear to be useless. To comfort her husband, she hands him the platinum chain, only to find out that Jim has sold his gold watch to buy a present for her. Jim suggests they should put away their Christmas gifts and have dinner. The story ends with the statement that Della and Jim are the wisest of those who give presents.

EVALUATION

➢ • It was to show that material possessions are not as important as true love.

• In a world where divorce rates,living separately,self love bordering on narcissism are on the rise and people have forgotten all about sacrifice for the spouses and family,The Gift of the Magi teaches that a married couple is the smallest unit that binds society together in spite of hardships and poverty. It teaches sacrifice,love for the better half and for society.

• The author is successful because the story teaches us the valuable lesson of loving and caring for others. The story is a great way to teach kids to be loving and kind to their families.

CONCLUSION

➢ • I agree that stories because Della and Jim is not was to show that material possessions are not as important as true love.

• Jim and Della have barely enough money to pay their bills; yet, they are generous with each other. They do not allow poverty to stand in the way of their love.

• Their sacrificial love. The lesson they ultimately me learn is that their love for each other is worth more than all of the material possessions money can buy and also it is a story about sacrifice, and the value of love being greater than the value of worldly possessions.

MY UNFORGETABLE PERSON THAT I HAVE EVER MET

Is my friend, sister CJ, I will never forget her because I admire her because of her intelligence, kindness, beauty, and kindness to the Lord. I will never forget him because he became a part of my life, he became my Sunday school teacher at our church. I was 11 years old when sister CJ became my teacher in Sunday School. he teaches us the word of GOD.

I admire sister CJ because of her experience before she accepted the Lord in her life, that she used to be worldly, she went along with all the activities of the world like the one who started jogging immediately when she was only 16 years old, she is not really a good child back then because he answered and disobeyed his parents' advice.

It's inspiring because sister CJ got over it with God's help because she realized then that her life could change. Sister CJ is a student, she finished senior high even though she is 20 years old. He continued his college studies, he is now in his third year and is about to graduate from college, it's funny because he has many dreams in life, he always thinks about his family so he is studying hard so that he can fulfill and repay those sacrifice of his parents. The course sister CJ took was accounting business management, which is amazing because she passed it and will be able to graduate.

It's amazing and inspiring because, he overcame what he experienced when he was young and was able to study and graduate from college, sister CJ is right when she said that you should only trust in the Lord because you always have him with you in every journey that your life will take or in the future. Sister CJ is a volunteer in our church. He volunteers as a teacher and he also volunteers in praise and worship which is singing in front of many people even though that is his weakness like me.

it's funny because she's the sister if you know her as a sister even though you're not related by blood but you can count on her every time you have a problem, she's able to be her sister with her churchmates. You will be told or corrected for things you shouldn't be doing so he was chosen as THE MOST UNFOGETABLE CHARACTER THAT I HAVE EVER MET.

MY HIGH SCHOOL JOURNEY

High school life is the best memory of being student. This is the time when you totally realized that life was full of mysteries. Mystery is term of experience because at this stage of my life. This stage was able to know that life is not all about happiness or sadness but this two will be part and be my bestfriend on life. I have a lot of experience that would my personality. That i can use to treasure through the journey of my life. And this is my simple story during my senior high school life.

This is how my senior high school life started, first day of school. I felt excited and nervous. Excited in such a way that I will be able to experience another journey of my life Nervous in the sense that i will be facing new classmates, new teachers and new friends. And also, nervous I felt in the first day slowly gone and filled with happiness. I was able to gained new friends. Most of them are my schoolmate and one of them is transferee from other school. I really thought that my senior high school would be very boring, But I was wrong I don’t expect that I would be enjoying with my new friends and my classmates. I really treasure every single days with them, with their craziness in life.

The most exciting part of my senior high school life is our christmas party. That day, I was able to enjoy and felt the presence of christmas. Lot of games happened on that day. All my classmates really enjoyed that day. That day was so memorable to me. I realized something (secret). I really treasure every single days, hours, minutes, and seconds that I was with my classmates and friends.

I'm recall every memories in my senior high school was a good idea. Time pass very quickly. Some things may fade but not my memories, memories in my senior high school. I do believed that if you’ll miss high school life, you’ll miss the half part of your life. High school life you’ll experience lots of new things and memories that you will bring in your entire life.

The eighty hours of work immersion is helpful and meaningful experience during Senior Hihgh School. It is a privilege for me to have a work immersion experience in COMELEC department in which I gain knowledge, ideas, inside and background of my dream profession. This experience helps me on how to be responsible, a better person and a successful professional in work someday.

Our work immersion gave me valuable learnings that probably wouldn't learn in just by studying. It gave me lessons and experience of what outside world really offers. In my two weeks experience at COMELEC help me realized that the importance of the responsibility of being a worker their.

In our first week, we start work that assign with us immediately after orientation with us. I am assign the task that gave our supervisor, and I start doing the task (arrange the forms of the comelec registrants in each barangay, etc.) that gave our supervisor. In the second week, is the exciting part for me because the schedule of COMELEC registration is to doing in every barangay which is we going outside and also going another place in every barangay, that make me exciting because we see/we communicate many other people in the barangay that we our going.

In the short of time as a Work Immersion student, I'm so grateful that I got to experience all of this because we communicate other people and we also doing a challenge that we experience in Work Immersion that gave me a courage because I'm not used to socializing with a lot of people and seniors with attitude and that's the challenge in myself that I'm doing. I enjoyed the real-life work experiences, although I had a hard time of doing some of it. It helped me to understand what a work look is really alike and how to work with other people. It gave me a bigger picture of what I want to be in the future and the improvements that I need to make a better version of myself as an individual.
