I like to headcanon that J is not only the first bot she got, but was also her 'practice grounds'. Ending up in her final form thanks to all her upgrading and experimenting. The whole time having an older sibling/almost parental bond. Then the others started to come into the household.

I like that at least from what I’ve seen, J’s Default expression in the Mother Protocol AU has kinda shifted to instead of like annoyance and disappointment, a kind of contentment. A very drained and tired contentment, but she legitimately loves what she’s doing, and I love that for her! She deserves to look back on her life and go: “I think this is good. I like this! It’s not perfect, but I like it, and that’s what matters.”
