Brother Day × reader~ Journey to the end
Based fully on "Foundatuon" ep 8.
Fluff and only fluff, absolutely no warnings exept my comments hahah. (just kidding) (no I'm not) (actually I am).
Very short one-shot. (But, maybe not really, idk)
Word count: 968
Enjoy, adding that one playlist that I always will recommend to people and brother Day's fans. (My fav)
This fanfic is weird and it feels like an long boring school text at first, but as far as you read, it'll get much better. (It really will) (it's still better than the previous one)
Just read
Luv Xxxxxxx
The Great crisis on Trantor began with Proxima Opal's death. Brother Dusk had to visit these parts of Empire, but sooner brother Day proclaimed that he would go to Opal's funeral in the place of him, blaming the older clone for the handling of the Seldon situation and the bombings of Anacreon and Thespis, wanting to prove that he won't hear that little voice in his head and be better than his other brother. Cleon XIII became the first Emperor since Cleon I to leave Trantor.
Arriving at the Salt Palace, the Emperor was greeted solely by Halima, who petitioned the Ring of Zephyrs to receive him in such a manner. He was surprised, not sure if they really wanted to greet him in a good way and suspected every step of the locals.
At the funeral, Halima disrespected the Imperial culture of Cleon's dynasty and as a means to get a win over her, Cleon decided he will walk the Spiral and allow his fate to be decided by the Triple Goddesses.
Now he became the same with every person in this world: weak, not able to protect himself.
Now Cleon was standing there, at the beginning of the Ring, ready to face fate whatever it would be. Thousands of other people were near him but it felt like he didn't notice anyone. He was so concentrated on himself, on his own good.
After many miles he noticed a girl on her way to the center of the Ring. She had the sheet wrapped around her shoulders. Still, her skin was burnt and legs were barely walking. She fell, she struggled, she stood up and continued the path.
It was so hard for her to stand up again, it felt like now was the second, when she won't continue, that the way would end in that one place, but not, she was stronger than that. She surely didn't do that for her own good, and maybe she even was sure in having a soul, but there was someone who never believed in her and now it was the right time to prove that she wasn't the one everyone thought she would be.
Brother Day passed her quickly, not paying much attention nor to her scars, nor to her struggling. He might have helped her, but he did not.
He himself had scars and also his legs were weak, until he himself fell on the ground. She approached him and gave a hand on which he rejected, but she was the one to add some confidence and insisted him in taking the help.
"Just take it, there's a little left to go."- she said.
"No, go I don't need your help."- Day answered, not looking at her. His eyes were focused on the ground. She took one of his hands, pulling him up.
"Get up now, we need to go, if you don't want to burn yourself."
He slowly stood up, and leaned a little on her. Bodies pressed togather, they continued walking.
"Have you heard about the Emperior himself being here and walking this path with us?"- she asked Day, clearly not knowing that he himself was the emperior walking there, bodies pressed with her.
"Yes, what about him?"- Cleon didn't want to mention being an Emperor, not to upset the girl next to him.
"I thought it would be nice to see him here, at the clear end of my life, but he probably has already passed me, and we both didnt notice each other in that big crowd of people. I still can't believe I got so far, but I can't anymore, my legs are like cotton wool, I just can't. Let me go, please!"
"Believe me, Emperor isn't as selfish as you may have heard and he probably passed by you, seeing and wanting to help, but himself not having much strength to do anything, so he tried to go futher and futher. I won't let you die here, if I go, you go with me, right?"
"Maybe, I haven't met the Emperior, but I'm so glad I met you. I wouldn't gone so far, if not you. You were the one who kept me from giving up so fast, but now, my time has come, just let me go!"- she tore apart from him.
"Can I at least know your name?"- Cleon asked coming again closer to her.
"Y/n."- she said falling, but being caught by brother Day from behind. He took her into his arms and carried on. There was still streamgh in him, at least streangh to carry her up till the end.
When he reached the tunnel, he placed her back on the ground, slowly, not wanting her to get hurt.
She again opened her eyes and looked at him. Everything was blury, but she could sense his worrying.
He brought her watter, as long as she could stand up by herself and they both stepped into the watter channel (idk how to call it).
"I thought that we were supposed to see a vision…"
"You also don't see anything? I thought people with a sould would."
"Who told you I had a soul."
"A person kind as you has to have one."- Day looked at her in passion which came from somewhere.
"And what about you? You're a man, who saved me and still, you don't have any visions."
"It's hard to explain it to you. I can't have a soul, eventhough I tried to prove that."
"To me, you'd always have one."- she told him.
"Now, close your eyes…"- Day said, coming really close to her, and the water started cycling around them. He kissed her, feeling her dry sunburned lips against him, kissing back passionately.
This day, they both got a vision of salts making a flower. Experience, that neither of them would ever forget.
"Join me on the flight back to Trantor."- Day said after when the realison hit her.
The end♥️
