Sometimes many things converge. This is on one of my CDs from High School that I recently rediscovered on one of my long drives to or from Buffalo. A few years ago my brother spotted the ‘Kool Thing’ 12” for me at the Williamsburg Academy. For the better part of this year the Neon Boys version has been on heavy repeat (from that ridiculous Neon Boys-Richard Hell 45 circa 1980) but you have to give SY their 1990 due.

Neon Boys - Love Comes in Spurts

Neon Boys was the embryo for Television. Tom Verlaine, Richard Hell and Billy Ficca were in the band. The Voidoids later had another song called ‘Love Comes in Spurts’ but the only thing it had in common with this one was the title.
