What if Earth is already the property of some galactic empire that hasn’t gotten around to settling us yet because they just purchased us off of another galactic empire a few decades ago?

What if the leaders of said empire tells its citizen to colonize Earth, and they start taking over our cities and land. They find it justifiable because we don’t use the elements in Earth’s core like they do so we don’t really own the planet.

We’re pushed to Mars, where only 1% of humanity lives in relative peace but a lot of hunger and a few international struggles, which the aliens feed into. They eventually settle Mars too, pushing us to the moons of Jupiter, then Saturn.

Eventually the empire becomes a bit nicer, and builds us a bunch of reservations throughout the solar system, though only a few of them are on Earth. Today we’re a minority in our own Solar System, mostly running Casinos on Mars or giving tours of the ruins of our once great cities. The aliens stopped calling us Meatbags though. Now they use the more respectable Native-Earthling term, though they’ll rarely acknowledge whatever nationality your ancestors had before they came.

I'm about to get deep.....about smut. I never thought I'd write that sentence.

So as of late, ppl are ripping into each other sexualizing idols and how writing smut isn't appropriate regardless of if the idol is of legal age.

Now, I've been a fangirl for a long time. If you scroll through this blog you'll see I was a fan of one direction and 5sos, and on my main blog it has even more fandoms like Merlin and Harry Potter. I've seen how much smut has been written about so many characters and ppl. Now, consider this: most is catered towards girls. Have you guys ever considered why?

The obvious answer may seem like it's cause most fans are girls. There's a reason why the term "fangirl" is more popular than "fanboy". And that does probably have a factor in this but I think there's a more important reason.

Girls do not have a way to explore their sexuality. When I say this I mean they don't have a way to explore what they do or don't like about sex the way boys do. Boys get exposed to porn. They watch it and get to browse through millions of videos and get to think "oh I like that" or "ughhhh that's kinda weird".

Porn is available to many of us, but it isn't catered towards women. Girls don't have the same experience as boys because a lot of porn is super degrading towards woman, so unless that's your kink, you're left with limited options. Not to mention, in society, women watching porn seems odd while we expect it of men. This leads to girls feeling like watching porn is taboo, so they fewer girls watch it in the first place.

So boys get to watch videos and figure out their preferences while girls just have their imagination. This is where smut comes in. Like how porn is catered towards boys with limited options for girls, smut is catered to girls with limited options for boys.

There's so much smut out there because girls want to read and think, "oh that seems like it'd feel nice" or "ehhh I don't want to keep reading this cause it seems uncomfortable". Smut is our porn.

Some of you may argue that boys masturbate to porn and girls don't necessarily masturbate to smut. To that I say, you don't have to masturbate to explore your sexuality. You can still get a feel or an understanding of what you do and don't like.

Others may argue that boys watch porn while underage but girls don't read smut underage because writers don't want underage ppl reading it. To that I say, porn is not supposed to be consumed by ppl under 18, but that doesn't stop anyone. Do you really think it's gonna stop girls from reading smut?

I'm not saying porn is good or bad, or that smut is good or bad. I have my own opinions that I will keep to myself. But I think we have to think about how as a society, we cannot avoid sexuality and that we need to figure out healthy ways for every gender to explore their sexuality. Because right now young women have to do it themselves and are being shamed for it.

TLDR: girls are being shamed for reading/writing smut because we don't have enough porn to explore our sexuality
