SPOILERS FOR THE SUICIDE SQUAD

(Seriously last chance)

I’m just as sad that certain characters bit it in the film, Boomerang and Flag in particular, but like they’re called the Suicide Squad for a reason lmao. They’re disposable to Waller and part of the fun of the comics is that any of these guys could get offed at any moment. Hell, these two have died in the comics, so this isn’t unprecedented. Also, given all the weird magic, science and multiverse shit that happens in these stories, I really wouldn’t be surprised if we see them back eventually.

Now admittedly, Boomerang does feel like a character perfect for James Gunn, and I think he could have done more with him. But at least he got some cool moments, which is more than can be said for most of Team 1.

Honestly, the one death that kinda bothered me in the film was Polka-Dot Man’s, since it felt out of place given his arc in the film. But even then it didn’t ruin the movie for me. 

But yeah, few creative choices aside, loved this movie. Best DCEU film yet. EDIT: One last thought: the gag of Waller’s staff putting bets on who dies is great.

If season 2 doesn’t give us the Mariner/Tendi/Rutherford love triangle we all know it needs it was all for nothing.
