exposing my parasocial side for a minute here, seeing these today felt reallyyy refreshing. it made me really happy for him. we already knew he's got a good support system around him, of course, but to SEE the way he lights up around the people he cares about is so... idk. heartwarming? idk. it makes me happy for him, that's all. it's nice to see him being himself "freely" again, without hiding from the cameras or closing himself off or keeping distance just so the internet won't react to it. idk. i feel all proud and silly about it lol it's that parasocial feeling taking over unfortunately. but since i image this was just a rare glimpse we got and it won't be happening very often, i'm enjoying it as it is <3

wait what interview 😭

this one. the lack of critical thinking and the way people refuse to actually read everything BEFORE coming up with conclusions and vomiting their hate online is really concerning. I'll die on the hill saying that Lando didn't mean anything negative by this, and I'll die on the hill saying that Lando didn't downplay Max's talents or abilities, nor implied he's gotten racing easy or anything like that. and I get that not everyone will like Lando and I get that not everyone will agree with the things he says or does. that's fine I don't care I don't like a lot of people too. but the way people have twisted this interview and ran with the wrong narrative without even TRYING to understand what Lando was saying or even reading the entire thing is really concerning. I mean, I tend to think the way people behave online is a reflection of the people they are in their every day life. so I can't imagine people living and interacting with others like this. just jumping into conclusions and yelling at everyone around them just bc they didn't catch the entire phrase or bc they misunderstood and never tried to fact-check the info or correct themselves. anyway, i blabbered and yet didn't say 5% of what I wanted to say. I kinda gave up yesterday - clearly, since I didn't rant like I so dramatically warned I would lol but I honestly still want to go back to some posts I saw across the lando norris tag and call people out for being stupid. I don't like to call people stupid, but I feel like these ones deserve it 💀

the negative takes on lando after today's race are making it really hard for me to stay quiet. i mean asking drivers to swap positions is never "cool" and yeah i def wish things had been different, but to say it was lando's fault to lose the position or to insist oscar deserved to finish p2 really makes me wonder if people even watch races or if they ever go BEYOND what's shown on tv to at least know what they're talking about before spreading so much s### online

was listening to the new quadrants podcast and thinking about how lando from the single parent universe would be dropping stories about playing mario kart with little Livie and how excited (and bossy) she gets every time 🤏
