failed plans
I started laughing so hard at the idea of the radiostatic breakup scene but in the middle of Alastor laughing at Vox and driving him away, Vox accidentally looks up behind them and sees Alastor's shadow absolutely kissing the hell out of his shadow, dipping it low and appearing like it's 2 seconds away from finding out if shadows can bang on a surface despite not being three-dimensional and he stops his spiral and points at them, like, "Uh, hey. Is that...supposed to be doing that?"
And Alastor is absolutely horrified and tries to banish his shadow and continue what he was doing but every time he turns around his shadow is batting it's eyes at Vox from behind him and stealing kisses to his shadow, so Vox is like, "Okay, yeah, sure" to whatever Alastor says and just buys himself a drink while Alastor tires himself out trying to embarrass him.
So lately, I've been thinking about Vox, specifically his childhood. I just thought it would be interesting if he had a stutter as a child, which he was often made fun of for by other children and scruntized by adults. I imagine that he would examine (almost obsessively) how other people talk, those who spoke confidently and smoothly, and would try to mimic the way they speak. It perhaps started with the adults in his life like teachers before his attention shifted to public figures who had the ability to influence others with their words. Eventually, he would have been able to hide it pretty well, but it did come out whenever he got too angry or overwhelmed. This habit could have followed him through death with how he glitches in the show.
Okay, I'm done with my little rant.
They deserve each other.
Vox really went "jokes on you, I'm into that shit"
Vox and Alastor go to couples therapy
Just thinking of Vox being stuck in the Vee tower, with nothing to do but replay the events that led to him being only a head, beating himself up for how his plan completely fell apart and for falling for Alastor's obvious manipulation. Oddly enough, he keeps circling back to how much Alastor apparently hated being touched by him, even when they were on good terms. "Fucking creep" is what Alastor called him, and for some reason Vox can't stop thinking about it. Vox is just a naturally touchy person, so most of the time, he doesn't really think about it.
Once his head is attached to a body again, he's suddenly very conscious of touching other people. He's still his manipulative self, but he's very aware of what his hands are doing, and every touch is intentional and deliberate. He's more relaxed with the other Vees, but everyone else is kept at a distance unless Vox makes the decision to close it. Most people wouldn't notice this change, only the ones who truly know Vox and his habits.
By the time Vox and Alastor meet again, Vox would have conditioned himself to stay inside his personal space bubble, keeping his hands to himself. Funnily enough, while Vox is trying keep distance between them, Alastor is the one who keeps getting up close, bursting Vox's personal space bubble. Still, Vox doesn't make any move to reach for him, his hands resting at his back. Alastor, of course, notices this and is a bit confused and irritated. Why isn't Vox responding the way he was supposed to? Why is he stepping away from him?
I'm loving these tags😂 Y'all are seeing the vision.
I like to think that Vincent/Vox's mother was a rising starlet who had an affair with his father, a prominent businessman who was married to another woman. The affair was fun and exciting until they found out that she was pregnant with Vincent. That was the point their passion turned cold.
His father was absent, sending money every month while pretending that they didn't exist. His mother was resentful, blaming both Vincent and his father for taking away her chance in the spotlight.
Long story short, Vincent would inherent the worst parts of his parents.
It was supposed to be easy.
Amazing. Brilliant. Fantastic. Spectacular. Everything I wanted.
It's funny to think I used to strive for straight As when I was younger. Now I'm just trying to pass my classes. I do not have the energy, motivation, or time to be doing all that.
Excerpt from @prince-liest's Chapter 4 of Vox Mortuorum on AO3.
It takes place after the events of S2, where Vox ends up becoming a resident at the Hazbin Hotel. Yes they both need therapy. Lots.
alternate scene: I refuse to believe Vox would hurt his son
What if instead of just murdering everyone himself Vox summoned some help?
I feel like we should all take a moment to acknowledge that Shok.wav is, indeed, the biggest, baddest shark in hell and the best boy. Vox better be telling him that every day 😤
Task paralysis is kicking my ass right now ðŸ˜
Alastor had 70 years to do something about Vox. But he never does. He's clearly more powerful than Vox, he could've done something, but he didn't. Alastor has torn people apart for doing basically nothing to him. But Vox publically humiliates Alastor multiple times and Alastor doesn't really do much about it after the fact. Alastor had a giant shark dog attacking him but does literally nothing about it. He doesn't even leave a scratch on the Shok.Wav.
If Vox is a simp I don't even wanna know what you'd classify Alastor as. It's time to confess Alastor. I know what you are.
The obsession is mutual, and nobody can convince me otherwise.
If radiostatic can leave my brain alone for the day so I can focus on finals, that'd be great. Not likely to happen, but it'd be nice if it did.
