What she never saw

Blurry vision and fading consciousness did not deny her crying out to him, pleading really, one last time.

"Solas! Come back! Come-come back to me. It doesn't have to be this way," she wept screaming at the ripples of the eluvian. "I loved you... I STILL love you," she silenced quickly panting considering what she just said.... "I still love you." She said softly one last time reaching out for him as her world went dark.

But he heard her words. And they found the cracks in his armor, and they exploited them mercilessly. He collapsed to the ground. His back against the now closed door between them. Tears streaming down his face he let out a scream, and not just any typical holler, this was a release. Full of pain and anger and sorrow. It darkened the skies and silenced the forests. It was regret. But he would not turn around. He couldn't. For his future only promised death and sorrow. "I still love you too." He whispered to himself.

The very thing she really needed to heal, she would never see. And that thing was him. Vulnerable and raw and sincere.

If anyone’s interested here is a searchable copy of the(almost?) full script of Dragon age Inquisition that someone’s pulled directly from the game files and uploaded.

It should be useful for anyone looking to find snippets of dialogue for meta and such, esp. if you play on console, or aren’t tech savvy enough to go through the game files for it.
