...I took a year off after high school rather than go to college. I convinced my mom that I needed time to "find myself" and "figure things out." The truth was far less complicated - I was just really lazy and thought I could lounge around and do nothing. I think my mom regretted her decision to allow me to live at home that year almost immediately. We butted heads a lot and yes, she did threaten to spank me a couple of times for having a bad attitude but I didn't really take her seriously. Honestly, the spanking was far more embarrassing than it was painful. My mom pulled my pants down and spanked my bare bottom! At my age! But it did sting bad enough and then the worst part was her supervising while I finally filled out the applications. She didn't let me put my pants back on until I was done. The whole time I wondered if any of my future classmates were filling out their applications while rubbing their sore butts. I seriously doubted it haha...
