uhâŠ. I kinda sorta really want to make this more school appropriate and use it as a review for writing essaysâŠ
Kinda sorta love this.
OMG, and Iâm grading and I want to give this to some kids.
meeeowww
I laughed way too hard.
Teacher Social Skills: I need to get out more...
Recently, a friend showed me a funny picture stating: "TEACHER TELLS US 'I BEFORE E, EXCEPT AFTER C, THEN TEACHES US 'SCIENCE'" I completely ruined the funny and, instead of laughing and letting it go, explained the whole spelling rule in regards to the 'eeee' sound when made by an 'i' and 'e', pointing out that in 'science', the 'i' and 'e' don't make an 'eeee' sound together as a digraph, and in fact are separate phonographs, therefore making the 'ie'/'cei' rule invalid...... I may have hit a new low in my social skills. Need to spend less time at school, more time with humans.
AHAHA
Classroom Names
Sorry I haven't been posting about my workout - I'm still on it, and still with it. Will post about weigh-in in the next couple of days!
I was in a school last year that had names for each of their classes. ie, "The Electric Einstein", "The Busy Bees", "The Upgraders", etc. All of them were funny, but also said something about learning, and developing one's brain, or keeping busy.
What's a good name for a classroom?
Day 8: Wednesday :)
I tried to make the most out of Hump Day... Did a bit extra, and did some target muscle work. I was SOOOO sore... But it was totally worth it. My arms feel amazing, and I took a photo today to compare physical progress.
Work Out:
- 100 Skips (I'm doing them faster and they're becoming a lot easier)
- Runwalk... Walkrun... Raln? Wunk? I'll come up with a name for my technique.
- 100 Crunches
- 20 Bicep curls
- 20 Tricep lifts
- 10 Deltoid raises (HARD)
Breakfast: Strawberry Protein Shake
Snack: Apple
Lunch: Strawberry Protein Shake
Snack: Mini Wrap
Dinner: M and I went out to the pub with some of his friends. I ate a chicken thing with some salad... Couldn't finish it, unfortunately. But it was good. It just means that my stomach has adjusted and I can only eat small portions again :) Coming in handy!
It's come to my attention that I need to increase my water intake. I don't think I'm making as much progress as I could, and it's worrying me. Weigh in today was at 73.7kg. But I'm not trusting the scales... It gives me mixed answers. I fiddled around with the settings and found out that M had it set to the settings for his height and gender. Before I fiddled with the changes, it told me 75.8, 75.0, 75.2 ... All different weights. So I changed the settings and I was under 74kg. Weighed myself a few more times, and it stayed at the same reading. But I still don't trust it.
So, Goal for Tomorrow:
Carry around a 600mL water bottle during my adventures today and aim to fill it up again TWICE.
Day 7, Tuesday: New Year's Day
Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you've written up your resolutions and that you're as glad as I am that the world hasn't ended.
Breakfast: Strawberry Protein Shake :)
Lunch: Barbecue salads (I didn't feel like meat)
Dinner: Strawberry Protein Shake :)
Exercise for the Day:
We spent the whole day out on Lake Alexandrina with M's friends, on one of their properties. We went on the Jet-Ski, we rode motorbikes, we sat around enjoying the sun and each other's company... They even had a water trampoline!! They suspended a trampoline on floating drums out in the middle of the water, and when you bounced on it, water splashed through. I spent a great deal of time on this genius invention...
The great thing is that, because I was so active and busy, I didn't have time to sit around and snack. I didn't have time to do anything except drink water and laugh all day.
And, as a result, the scales showed this morning that I've lost OVER 1KG!! I decided to weigh myself and my weigh-in was 74.0kg.
Goal for Tomorrow (which is actually today):
Stick with it, try and keep active today, and do things as much as possible... even though you're sore from yesterday.
Day 6 (Monday): New Year's Eve
Morning Exercise:
- 100 Skips
- Runwalk around my 6 blocks (When I half-run, half-walk a track, I shall call it a runwalk...)
- 30 Squats (both sides)
- 30 Lunges (both sides)
- 100 Crunches
Breakfast:Â My clean museli :)
Lunch: Strawberry Optifast Protein Shake!!! I went and bought them, they taste incredible.
Snack: Smoked Turkey Breast... I've decided to nibble on protein, whenever I can.
Dinner: We had a "Dutch-Themed" dinner at the Caravan Park with M's family who were all down for the New Year. I had some crazy abdominal pains so I didn't eat much, but they had a beef stew or something... It was pretty tasty.
I skipped workout over the weekend... I know. I wanted to see if I could take a break, but the problem is, I pigged out during all the family fun we had with M's family. I went on the scales and it said that I'd put on almost 3kg in 2 days!!! Either I weighed myself wrong last week, or I need to really watch what I'm eating... Anyway, on Monday, my weigh-in was 75.2kg.
Only more of a reason to work harder.
âI hope that you understand it is my job to raise you into a well rounded, healthy young man that can function in the world and coexist with technology, not be ruled by it,â she wrote at the start of the list.
I love this, and this mom. Hereâs her full list:
âWITH THE ACCEPTANCE OF THIS GIFT COMES RULESâ: THE AGREEMENT
It is my phone. I bought it. I pay for it. I am loaning it to you. Arenât I the greatest?
I will always know the password.
If it rings, answer it. It is a phone. Say hello, use your manners. Do not ever ignore a phone call if the screen reads âMomâ or âDadâ. Not ever.
Hand the phone to one of your parents promptly at 7:30pm every school night & every weekend night at 9:00pm. It will be shut off for the night and turned on again at 7:30am. If you would not make a call to someoneâs land line, wherein their parents may answer first, then do not call or text. Listen to those instincts and respect other families like we would like to be respected.
It does not go to school with you. Have a conversation with the people you text in person. Itâs a life skill. *Half days, field trips and after school activities will require special consideration.
If it falls into the toilet, smashes on the ground, or vanishes into thin air, you are responsible for the replacement costs or repairs. Mow a lawn, babysit, stash some birthday money. It will happen, you should be prepared.
Do not use this technology to lie, fool, or deceive another human being. Do not involve yourself in conversations that are hurtful to others. Be a good friend first or stay the hell out of the crossfire.
Do not text, email, or say anything through this device you would not say in person.
Do not text, email, or say anything to someone that you would not say out loud with their parents in the room. Censor yourself.
No porn. Search the web for information you would openly share with me. If you have a question about anything, ask a person - preferably me or your father.
Turn it off, silence it, put it away in public. Especially in a restaurant, at the movies, or while speaking with another human being. You are not a rude person; do not allow the iPhone to change that.
Do not send or receive pictures of your private parts or anyone elseâs private parts. Donât laugh. Someday you will be tempted to do this despite your high intelligence. It is risky and could ruin your teenage/college/adult life. It is always a bad idea. Cyberspace is vast and more powerful than you. And it is hard to make anything of this magnitude disappear â including a bad reputation.
Donât take a zillion pictures and videos. There is no need to document everything. Live your experiences. They will be stored in your memory for eternity.
Leave your phone home sometimes and feel safe and secure in that decision. It is not alive or an extension of you. Learn to live without it. Be bigger and more powerful than FOMO â fear of missing out.
Download music that is new or classic or different than the millions of your peers that listen to the same exact stuff. Your generation has access to music like never before in history. Take advantage of that gift. Expand your horizons.
Play a game with words or puzzles or brain teasers every now and then.
Keep your eyes up. See the world happening around you. Stare out a window. Listen to the birds. Take a walk. Talk to a stranger. Wonder without googling.
You will mess up. I will take away your phone. We will sit down and talk about it. We will start over again. You & I, we are always learning. I am on your team. We are in this together.

I get to the bar, and Indiana isnât there
But there is a sexy, sexy man at the bar
And I walk up to him in my head looking like this
But a very unsexy man approaches me first and tells me about his thrilling life in NYC
And he buys me a drink
Then Indiana shows up
This is just... omg. I wish my life was this interesting.
Get ready, single men of my city. Especially you, Indiana. You have no idea whatâs coming!
This will self destruct in 5, 4, 3âŠ
