"Well, Miss Crisis, it's rather been a while, hasn't it?"
"Goodness is it — Bastien, hi! Long time no see!"
-
So they hadn’t met each other yet, was that it? That was no good, no good at all. Frowning in a way a mom only would when her kid did something very disappointing, her hands went to her lips as Crisis tried to give her best Look. Capital L and all.
“Slowly, huh? Well, don’t drag your feet too much, you hear me? Ethel’s a nice lady. More than nice. She’s a really good lady. And the longer you drag it out the more you won’t get to see Ethel."
He nodded, glancing around the hall. It'd been a while since he'd had much in the line of company. Seeing Essai had been at the top of his list of things to do once he got back for months and she was right: there was no point in dragging his feet.
But, drag his feet he did, letting the nervous jump twist and turn in the pit of his stomach.
"Of course," he murmured, turning his attention back to her with a small smile. "Though, I doubt Ethel would agree with you. She might think you're trying to ruin her reputation and all. She's very protective of her bad boy image."
Teasing was easy. It was second nature, much like conversation. He'd worry about the rest later.
