We Deserve Love Stories, Too by Anthony Buford: Dell & Que.

We Deserve Love Stories, Too is an ongoing visual series that highlights the authentic, unapologetic nature of Black queer couples. The project aims to share actual depictions of various couples that are traditionally left out of media depictions and representations — proving that Black couples still exist.

We Deserve Love Stories, Too was born out of seeing a lack of representation of Black queer same gender loving couples on television and film. Even when Black queer folks are seen on screen, we’re romantically paired with lovers outside of our race and/or face traumatic experiences that leaves viewers with a bittersweet taste.
