WAVERSYSHIP

Waversyship Refers to an agreed-upon partnership between two or more systems. Within the agreed upon partnership is a relationship, the nature of which (e.g. romantic, platonic, queerplatonic, etc) is based on the individual relationships of alters between systems, changing depending on which alter is fronting in each system. Regardless of who is fronting, systems within a waversyship may refer to eachother's collectives as a: • partner-system • waver-system • etc...

This term is based on the preexisting wavership, but exclusive to systems.

(Young) Abuse Seeker is a role for a young alter that seeks out general abusers.

Reasons a (Young) Abuse Seeker may seek out abusers are: for familiarity if abuse is all the alter knows and is used to, as a self-destructive behavior, as a "punishment" for theirself and their system, or for a wide variety of other reasons.

These alters may additionally be considered persecutors and/or trauma holders.

The adult counterpart to this role is (Adult) ABUSE SEEKER.

We had already coined a term similar to this one, so I decided to make it a counterpart to the old one since you specified this is for younger alters, and we also revamped the older coining (linked above). A Visual Dampener is a role for an alter that puts a dampening on visual stimuli that could otherwise trigger a seizure, migraine, headache, or other photosensitive responses for the system.

These alters usually front in response to visual stimuli in an attempt to spare the system from photosensitive responses.

BPD PRIDE FLAG

Of course anon! We aren't clueless, but we also aren't the most educated on BPD, nor do we have it ourselves, so we apologize if anything is inaccurate or misrepresented!

The symbol in the center is not an original coining of ours, it is just the BPD symbol we've seen used by those with the disorder the most! Not having BPD ourselves, we didn't want to pick a symbol for the community, nor could we really find anything as fitting as we think our choosing of the laurel for NPD was. The split colors represent splitting as seen within BPD; the alternation between intense idolization and devaluation.

From top to bottom, the colors each represent different symptoms and the different subtypes of BPD, and their meanings are as follows:

Deep-indigo: The intense fear of abandonment and the struggles that come with it

Indigo: The quiet subtype and it's symptoms

Blue: The impulsive subtype and it's symptoms

Light-blue: Some of the symptoms that are typically universal across the different subtypes of BPD; unstable relationships, unstable sense of self, unstable emotions, and general instability in life

White: Recovery

Light-grey: Some of the symptoms that are typically universal across the different subtypes of BPD; chronic feelings of emptiness, self destructive behaviors/urges/thoughts, dissociation, and paranoia

Grey: The petulant subtype and it's symptoms

Deep-grey: The self-destructive subtype and it's symptoms

Black: Co-morbid disorders

NPD PRIDE FLAG + SYMBOL

We made our own because we felt the widely used one was... well, boring. We like the colors though so we just tweaked them a bit and gave them meanings!

Laurels relate back to the Greek origins of the word "Narcissist" while simultaneously representing victory, triumph, and glory; things many pwNPD strive for.

From top to bottom, the colors each represent different symptoms of the different subtypes of NPD, and their meanings are as follows:

Deep-red: the malignant subtype and it's symptoms

Red: the symptoms that are universal across the different subtypes; arrogance, entitlement and the need for attention

Orange-red: the high functioning subtype and it's symptoms

Orange: the grandiose subtype and it's symptoms

White: recovery

Light-grey: the vulnerable subtype and it's symptoms

Grey: the exhibitionistic subtype and it's symptoms

Deep-grey: the spectrum of empathy levels

Black: co-morbid disorders

I know we've said before that we reclaim the ampersand as a symbol for CDDs/systems from ableists (endos), but recently we had an idea for our own! Theres an analogy we use alot to describe our personal experience with systemhood to non-systems, and we thought that it would make for a perfect symbol of our disorder as well!

The analogy is as follows: Cogs that make up a machine/system. Each cog (alter) is seperate and distinct, yet they all are part of eachother in the sense they together make up a larger body (the system as a whole). Each cog is necessary for the system to function, serves their own specific purpose (alter roles), and they all must work together to make sure the system functions. I'm pretty sure most system experiences can be fit into this analogy, such as alter fusion for example: two cogs are welded together to create one new cog that takes over the places of the previous two. The term "system" also perfectly fits into this analogy, as the term is already often associated with technology, gears/cogs and such

With all of this in mind, we thought that the imagery of gears/cogs would make for the perfect symbol for systems! We also made a new variant of our CDD/system pride flag utilizing the symbol!

hello! could we ask for a term for alters that have extreme attachments to family members because of the system's trauma? it doesn't have to be exclusive to trauma holders either, just any alter that develops an extreme attachment to the system's family because of traumatic memories whether it's healthy or unhealthy

(i hope this made sense shfdjfg.. feel free to ask for clarification if you need it) (also sorry if this is way hyperspecific)

LATCHER

Latcher is a term for an alter that holds an extreme attachment to one or more specific people around the system. The relationship with the subject of attachment may be familial, platonic, romantic, etc, so long as the alter feels strongly attached to the person/people. These alters may or may not simultaneously be trauma holders, and their attachment to the people around them can range from healthy to unhealthy depending on the effects of the attachment.

We made this one inclusive of all types of relationships, not exclusively familial ones, since we can imagine an alter could attach to virtually anyone around the system due to trauma. ISOLATOR

Isolator is a term for an alter who's role is keeping the system away from social interactions. These alters typically shut out outsiders in any way they can and may even shut out the rest of the system. These alters may simultaneously be protectors or persecutors, depending on the reasoning and effect of their isolating behavior.

SOCIALIZER

Socializer is a term for an alter that often fronts to handle social situations. These alters may feel more comfortable socializing than other alters in the system, be better at socializing than other alters in the system, enjoy socializing more than other alters in the system, or all of the above, and may go out of their way to interact with others.
