Subtle/easy acts of worship ✨
Share your teas with the gods. Sit and talk with them as you enjoy this peaceful moment with them.
An act of devotion. Read for Athena. Sing for Apollo. Devote your dinner for Hestia. Drink a glass of wine for Dionysos. Craft in the name of Hephaestus!
Wear colours associated with the deities. Wear pink for Eros, purple for Dionysos, blue for Zeus.
Offer jewelry and wear it in devotion.
Write poetry, or any other form of creative writing.
Practice hymns and memorize epithets.
Perhaps a more unoriginal thought, but make a playlist! Rock and roll for Ares, classical for Apollo, or love songs for Aphrodite and Eros!
Amuse them by playing video games in their presence. I find modern concepts such as this often entertains them.
Start blogging about them! They would appreciate that.
This is something I just read recently, but offer your last bite of food to them!
Practice the pillar « Sophia » by learning more about the gods! In theoi.com we trust. Or, perhaps, a podcast on Hellenic polytheism!
Offer incense or light candles in their honour! If you’re closeted, you can just say it’s for meditation.
Find ways to raise Kharis in a way that works for you, at the end of the day the gods appreciate anything that you can do ❤️
Haven’t been practicing lately. I don’t feel connected, but I WANT to be :( i miss the gods
I love the gods
I often feel like I’m at a cross roads, because on the one hand I desire community from those who practice much like me, but on the other hand, I don’t wanna spend my practice looking at what everyone else thinks and what the recent “drama” is all about. There’s always something going on to make people mad or police others, thus, I tend to pay it no mind at the expense of not connecting with others as much as I would like out of fear of stumbling across utter nonsense. Am I rambling or ?
The main thing I like to do to keep in touch with my religion is by following the Hellenion Calendar. It helps guide how I practice, and how I celebrate the gods by following the monthly holidays. So if you’re a little unsure in your practice and don’t feel you’re doing enough, try this if you haven’t already.
If anyone has experience with Lucifer, may you please feel free to share in the notes or reblogs? Thanks so much <3 I’d love to hear all about this!
I miss yall. Haven’t been online much I’ve just been too busy. I miss the gods.
I often wonder,,,,does murder of a bug count as being miasmic?
This is not me policing someone else’s practices or anything BUT how can you be in this religion and not LIKE and honour ZEUS? OUR FATHER? THE KING OF THE GODS?
He is so loving and comforting, how can you not appreciate his essence?
“Your practice is valid if you struggle with even getting up in the morning and therefore cannot do certain things” and “our religion requires some form of effort” are two ideas that can and will coexist. Accommodation does not equal being wrong, it’s not all black and white.
Furthermore, I don’t wanna hear that even getting up in the morning isn’t effort. If lighting a candle isn’t putting in the effort, or just thinking about the gods for that matter.
If you CAN do more, than that’s great, but if there’s only so much you find yourself capable of then the gods appreciate it ❤️
You belong in this community too.

Sometimes Hellenic polytheism is sharing a morning coffee with Zeus, looking at a shell and thinking of Aphrodite, or perhaps praying to Hypnos before you sleep.
It can look like this. It doesn’t have to be extravagant if you’re someone who struggles for whatever the reason.
I truly think that one of the best things you can do with your polytheistic practise is to stop listening to random people on the internet.
Don’t listen to the people who tell you that the gods don’t care about or love you. Don’t listen to the people who tell you an offering of water is not good enough. Don’t listen to the people who say it’s a requirement for show of devotion to have expensive items strewn across your altar. Don’t listen to people who tell you that you should have an altar even if you can’t. Don’t listen to people who suggest your disability makes you worthless to the gods because you can’t do what others can.
Try to find and make your own experiences with the gods, and look at what works for you and them. Please don’t let some random post on the internet stress you out and make you think you are doing something wrong (chances are, you’re not, especially if it’s absurd statements like the above).
Just as I put on devotional jewelry for Eros and Aphrodite, a dove comes and lands on my porch❤️
The gods love the gays. ✨
I don’t think being embarrassed of our religion makes your practice invalid, on account of the fact we’re often not taken seriously, or we’re aware that it may sound « silly » to those who may not understand. It can be hard to gather the courage to speak up and be honest about it. Don’t be ashamed of yourself, it takes time to get comfortable with this.
Your religion is valid in its own right, so don’t feel ashamed with yourself because of feelings you cannot control. The gods understand. Give it time. Such feelings will pass.
